I dig the heck out of CHOCO's designs. I used his costume for Seven in XBCDE almost exclusively...
His work on the three Xenosaga Emission artbooks is amazing !

14:00 Spike damage. In Theory a nice idea to make combat more diverse. In Praxis I hate this mechanic, at least in Xenoblade 1 it was more a hassle than anything else (during story fights). During the first try against a spiked enemy you lose. Then you either use Shulk or have to assemble spike protection gear, then you win. After battle you switch back to your normal gear.
Hopefully, during my XCX playthrough spike damage won't be as prominent as I remember it from its predecessor.

But yeah, I agree, Spike is easily one of the worst mechanics in all Xenoblade games. It just makes otherwise victorious fights borderline unfightable and it makes the post-game bosses feel way more completionist unfriendly than they are.

Praxis was easily one of my favorite Blades when I got to her in my playthrough; the story they told with her was just stellar, and it moved me emotionally seeing how it all turned out. And I'm glad Morag was a good driver for her, because without knowing what she was like I just bonded them since it made sense for the Special Inquisitor to take control of a criminal's Blade, so that was fortunate.
I do also like her design though; bubbly in more ways than one, and she's just adorable.

I generally prefer to use Praxis over Aegeon anyway. I kind of wish Praxis and Theory were main story blades as well, because they have three blade quests between the two of them, and they have one of the better arcs in terms of rare blades.

I wonder why so many guaranteed blades happen to share the water element. Dromarch Sheba Praxis Aegaeon and chapter 7 spoiler all share this element. The only guaranteed dark blade is Kassandra who commits the greatest sin that any blade not named Poppi can do- no elemental mastery.
Yeah, I think there is technically a guaranteed dark blade in NG+ but that hardly seems fair to count, at least he has Dark Mastery

In all seriousness, these videos are great and really informative. You're doing fine work breaking this all down and making it easy to process, and it's entertaining to boot.
tbf, Aegeon is after these Praxis and Theory. But since a lot of story blades are locked to certain characters most of the time, having one where you can choose does make it a bit more interesting. Though now I wonder when Vess is coming(unless I just missed her and I am a fool for not seeing her video.).
I regret not using Praxis in my playthrough. I really like her design but i opened her on Rex and didn't really want another =water blade in my team since I was already using Aegaeon and Dromarch. I also didn't have the patience to grind for overdrives to switch her to anyone. If i ever do an NG+ she and Theory will probably be over on Zeke for team eyepatch, even if it isn't optimal.
Personally to me idk why i don't see it listed on skill tree but I feel like there is a hidden mechanic where she deals extra damage a little bit and gains affinity so much faster when theory is on the field with her.
Both her and Theory are cool.

Nice vid, but why don't you use overdrive with all of the blades like Mythra, Corvin, and Wulfric, wouldn't they benefit from overdrive as well, and if not more.

With things like Praxis' level 1 special, does the aggro reduction effect apply after the special's aggro from damage is added, or before? For example if you had 20,000 aggro before and the special is generating 10,000 points more aggro, would the special leave you at 18,000 aggro (30k aggro minus 40%), or 22,000 aggro (20k aggro minus 40%, plus 10k aggro from the special)?
the effect applies on hit similar to rolling smash or other aggro reduction arts. This should mean that is applies before the damage itself is added. A little bit less useful in that way.

Can you activate Overdrive as long as Elma is in your party at all? I thought you had to be controlling her driver when she's active.
if you have full meter and she's in your party you can press r and - to have allies swap to and activate OD. If you control her you need to be controlling her though

I've just realized performing a full blade combo is bad with overdrive because you can't destroy the orbs. It decreases your damage for the whole fight, and it triggers elemental awakening.

It's a shame Praxis was so damn nerfed by Monolith. Only 1 Aux Core slot...that's painful. Also her Special Level 4 is kind of weak. Of course, I have her with Zeke because the eyepatch team is just the best lol

The water balloon parts are clothes, if I remember the artist's comments correctly, and the eye patch is because "I have a medical condition, you poser." [her post battle dialogue to Zeke].

When I first saw Praxis, I thought her breasts were actual water balloons lol. If I were to make her a bit better, I would give her a 15% phys. def. And 10% ether def. instead of 5% each. Foam blast would have a boost to damage ratio to about 485 at max affinity level 5. Geyser spring would have a 10% crit mod.
How many people have put Praxis and Theory in Zeke. Be honest

Oh my god... They should've made items that let you increase a blade's aux core slots, like they did with driver accessories. Why didn't they? It's just an arbitrary way to make certain blade's bad; all the ones that are considered good all have 3 likely by design. Come on... You're telling me an awful character like Sheba deserves 3 while blades like Praxis Boreas and others only get 1? Completely unfair.
The Aegis being the star of this game doesn't have 3 Aux Core slots either which is weird but maybe, because they are actually 2 and not one, Monolith considered she was too broken or something which is funny because QTPi is clearly the most broken blade in this game and she can use like 10 different slots or more. It's disturbing how some blades get 3 and others get one or two. If at least some of those blades had decentaffinity charts they could be ok but nope, some of them are at the bottom and they have 1 aux core slot which sucks.
