  • James comes out to show us around Cape Arid and what some local beaches down near Esperance in Western Australia is like. Recently he switched out his SX6 Adventra for an LX8 Adventra and I really wanted to show him what an CX/LX6 might have offered in terms of usability so he took mine out for a drive.

Pleasure to drive the beast Chris! Shame we didn't get to go wheeling after this video. Active select is such a game changer and I definitely recommend it for anyone wanting to take a V6 Addy offroad. We definitely need a rematch over here in WA!

You seem to be doing all right for toeing with your camping trailer and the extra weight you also carry in and on top of the V6 Addy .Chris.

It’s been surprising but N/A alloytec with a mace cam I reckon will put it in the sweet spot, question will be how the trans will deal with it but the objective is more torque 2.1-2.5k rpm and it’ll solve all my towing issues highway based. Off-road it manages, surprisingly and trans temps with my modifications see them between 68 and 80 most of the time when off roading or highway hauling.

Sand is different in the Bay and on the open ocean side. Also in the Bay in some areas close to Melbourne it's not natural sand and is more fine as I think they bring it in for the tourist areas to some extent

You know someone has disposable income when they say "I V8 daily"

Actually my v8 daily is around low 10L/100km avg @ 110km/hr for my weekend run around to see friends and around 11.5-12.5L/100km around town, unless peak hour hold up it’s much better than my v6 - it’s tuned and it’s quite amazing how good the fuel for a v8 when comparing to my modified off road v6.
