Same thing here mate, juggling making videos for CZcams, trying to maintain a high level of fitness and progress in my job is a hard life but certainly wouldn't have it any other way! Glad to hear you're making things work and can still plan for these larger trips. I myself am planning a unsupported Simpson crossing on the bikes later this year, so I'm super keen for that.
BUsy busy here lately too. Recently found that my wife, mother and aunty all have beast cancer with wife being far worse and on the cusp of being curable. Latest scan was beyond what we had hoped for. Father has dementia so I've painted their house, turfed the back yard and had new carpet laid. Now I'm sorting out lose ends with cleaning, replacing door handles etc, so the house can be sold so they can down size. I live 2 hours away from parents so I have to wait until I have time off. My daily car needs exhaust repair and rego inspection, my classic car needs a new windscreen and rego inspection as it's out of rego no. My 4by and bike both need a service before I get into 4by to get 4wd working, change spark plugs and find/stop oil leak. Then I have to install the auto lokka into the front diff which I bought last July.
There's quite a lot happening on your end. I'm genuinely sorry to hear about the family situation - it's always tough, but it's an amazing thing that you're there to support them during this experience in their life. It's often overlooked that, on average we have about 22,630 days of adulthood (though I personally doubt I'll hit that number, haha). When you dedicate even a single day to helping someone else, it's one less day for you, but to them, it feels like they've gained two. Talk about the the car stuff everyone I know has something needing work done, or overdue to get things planned sorted, I must say I do find it humerous how everyone who buys an auto lokka seems to hold onto it for about a year or even two before getting around to installing it. It really highlights how precious time is to people at the moment. I feel like with all thats been happening that I've just not be around to my online audiance for the majority of 2024, which is why I made this video - so much happening in the community side who physically can make an appearance but not enough to those who are hoping to see another video so hopefully we get right back on track soon enough. Take care mate, we will one day run into each other to have a toally flatbroke adventure together hahaha!~
@@AllTerrainActionsounds good mate I'm trying to hit the VHC next year as I have 2 mates down there wanting me to come down for a trip so it must happen.
Are you OK Chris? You sound a bit flat...not your usual energy level. Join the club....I'm a father again at 50yo with a newborn at home for the past month. My life, work (run my own biz), cleaning house and garden, etc....nothing is getting done. You'll get through it. I watch almost every video and learn so much, so thank you.
Sara just started a new job, we've been away 6 conseuctive weekends in a row not local either quite big drives so we've just been a bit overloaded, I recognised that though so been able to rest a bit this week in the evenings which has been a nice change of pace but do have to get ontop of getting our workshop done as it directly leads into other tasks on my list for the channel. All managble just good to share with everyone whats on the agenda. Thanks for checking in though and I hope you are well too mate.
Yeah poor Lemmy so confused about this household haha! I was walking in and out of the house closing the door and opening my car door, literally drove out around the block to film the first part and then walked inside 3 times to get the right shot haha. Lemmy wondering, why is he doing this!
I'm currently trying to talk my wife into letting me buy a rhino roof rack for my car, not having much luck at the moment, really need it for trip in may lol
Make sure to watch this video from RD czcams.com/video/aA459LxXzCY/video.html plan it out right, dont rush it and think about what you will be loading up there. Good luck hehe.
One of the reasons I'm looking at the rhino , the one I'm looking at weighs just under 20kg, my car has a roof load of 80kg, so about 60kg I can load on it, looking at loading camping gear on at the moment and recovery gear
Hey, do you ever come up Bathurst way? The Bridal track has reopened after 13 years due to a rock slide, it goes from Bathurst to Hill End, heaps of free camping along the Macquarie River. Cheers
We haven't really explored New South Wales for 4WD/camping trips yet, but that doesn't mean we're not open to the idea in the future - we're always on the hunt for new adventures. I'll check out the track and area you mentioned to see what opportunities might be available for us there. Thanks for your suggestion!
@@AllTerrainAction thanks mate, I've recently bought cx8 and slowly trying to figure out the best mods or accessories to get, and hopefully not waste money by buying the wrong options, lol, cheers
@@mattallen2801 if its for camping/mild tracks keep it basic mate you'll be surprised how well equipped they are stock with some road bias all terrains. If you want to go the whole way the order is, pedders lift -> 225/70/16 or 235/60/17 -> upgrade to police spec front pads and get an ABS bleed done for the brakes. That alone is enough to go 80% of the places I take my Adventra anything less is easy work for it. If you're hitting those rocky stuff, get a bashplate otherwise enjoy the camping mate.
If shocks are still fine, literally replace the coil spring front and backs with lifted ones. You can add spacers in the rear which have worked fine for many applications in addition to get the desired height you want. Rather easy job, though you will find new front strut tops will also give you more body lift as worn ones drop around 10mm easily and 95% likley you'll have to replace them when you breakdown your strut tower as they genrally fall apart during disassembly so include that in your cost. There is a list here in our kit you can go off if you want to shop around www.allterrainaction.com/product/all-terrain-action-adventra-wagon-2inch-50mm-spring-only-lift-kit-sx-cx-lx-models/

We passed a few bikes in Simpson, will be a good adventure mate. Make sure to take some form of sat communicator!

Workshop preparation definitely keeping us busy but at the same time helping with the bigger picture!
