"He had his reasons" and "Dont judge him" is not her giving her son a pass. it says "i feel responsible for this, direct your anger towards me, and try to forgive me."

The father lived out of town due to his job. There were warning signs but no one reported him. Even if they reported him there’s no law to keep him from buying those weapons for suspicious activity. The police were cowards for not rushing in immediately. They waited too long, some need to lose their jobs. They rather fight with parents trying to go into school than go after the perpetrator. I totally agree with you Catapillagirl. This is a multi facetted problem. Concerning the Uvalde massacre of precious children in Texas. This is becoming more frequent. I see many becoming mad, sad or Politicians trying to take advantage or the situation, but very few good idea's being talked about or implemented. Here is my two cents. First off I believe strongly about the 2nd Admendment and no one is taking my gun in a society where they are defunding the Police and taking gang units out by the defunding who were getting guns off the street, zero bail, Soros funded DA's letting out criminals early, not charging them for many of their crimes, and changing laws like theft to $950 before it's a crime to detour. How is this working out? Plus we had lock downs and job losses because of covid and before that riots that burned down businesses, creating more homeless, money problems and mental health problems and more. BUT we need to do something to protect our precious innocent children. When I was young this type of thing was rare. Why? Less population was one and open borders do not help. Also we did not have radicals on the internet trying to radicalize our children then. This needs to be monitored and safeguards by the parents at a minimum or State. If the parents or those in charge see worrisome behavior the parents need to act on it, and not just think their child is that innocent 8 year old they used to have. This is really caring for the child and society. So hold the parents responsible if they can prove the Parent knew and did nothing with a fine and or misdemeanor. We also did not have China giving us a virus and the Government and rich taking advantage of the situation at our expense. Also have you noticed that many of the school shootings were done by like 18 to 20 year olds? Make it illegal to own guns if under 21 unless you are in the Military which is under guidance and discipline. How about 2 armed guards at schools with a metal detector and one entrance? Many are complaining about Texas gun laws, but from my studies, most of the States with the most liberal gun laws have the lowest crimes from guns. And when crime is up over 50% in many Democrat run cities, I will not give up my guns to defend myself, loved ones and the innocent. If one has been convicted of a violent crime whether 16 or 60, make it illegal for them to own a gun. At least they are giving serial numbers now to ghost guns which can be traced, or give them 90 days to register or a fine and if used in a crime without being registered triple the fine and add a misdemeanor. Find ways to make it harder for criminals, young gang members and mentally ill to get guns. If school teachers want to take the training, let them carry and protect. To me these seem practical and not emotional. I came up with several others, but many have brought them up before by others. Just my 2 cents.

She is a horrible mom, one of her boyfriends SA’d Salvador when he was young but she did not believe him. Salvador dropped out of school since 9th grade and moved in with his grandma shortly before the incident. She failed to provide him a stable, safe, loving, and caring home. She cries to not judge her son and that he has his reason because she knows she are the reason and does not wished to be judged upon as well. Shame on her. Sending wishes to Uvalde and hoping the community can strengthen in mental health as it is a small town that often overlooks the importance of it.
