  • In this video I will show you how to remove the fuel tank of our motorcycle.
You need a 10 mm spanner or socket set, a soft rag, a block of wood.
this is simple process, after removing the bolt do not lift the tank too much.
Under the tank we need to disconnect the following:-
    1 Fuel pump connector,
    2 Drain hose,
    3 Evap hose,
    4 Fuel gauge connector,
    5 Main fuel line.
Tank removal is needed in the following cases:-
1 while routing the electricals cables along with frame for some electrical accessories. 2 while cleaning the underside of tank.
3 while accessing the fuel gauge and fuel pump.
4 changing the inline fuel filter.
5 working on the throttle body.
    6 working in valve adjustments.
7 checking for fuel leak from the fuel line.
    8 cleaning the evap hose.
9 cleaning rain water drain passage.
10 working on wiring fo the motorcycle.
11 Buffing the Engine head casing.
and there would be few other work which requires tank removal.

I noticed you laid the tank on it's side to show the under bits and bobs. Just a huge word of caution to those who own Baker Express model. Any leak of fuel onto the paint work will leave yellow stains which is a whole another story to remove. So it makes a difference how you lay down the tank.

    • @ijs_diy
      @ijs_diy  Před rokem +1

You have raised a valid point. But,
If the oring or tank cap gasket is fine then it wont leak from the cap as it is airtight and the bottom pipe would also not leak unless the pump is primmed or opened , also i kept it on the rubber mat.
