  • HI,
    In this video I will show you how to use the accessory jumper socket provided by RE inside the headlight dome to connect a mobile charger or any other electrical accessory. This socket has it own 10am fuse in the fuse box so it is safe to use , and your charger will only power up when the ignition is on means no strain on the battery.
    For this we need a 2 pic male female electrical coupler which bought from Bhagirath palace electrical market of Delhi only for Rs 20/-.
    Be careful with headlight when you open or close it to protect the glass.
    Thanks

    Amazing Idea. As a Bike you always have an Eye on some small improvement in your Bike. If I can suggest you something. Use a smaler Fuse to protect your Headlight to go off. In India the rain is pretty heavy and your USB Charger can get a shortcut and your Headlight will not work. You can only fix it if you know where the problem is. In your case it can be the headlight itself or the USB Charger. I would use another Fuse (Smaller than 10 A (5A) for example). Pros are you always have a selective Fuse safety in your wirings that means if the USB has a fault your Headlight will run. Image going on long tour with 100 10A fuses in your Bike and the fuse brakes every two minutes and you don't have a clue what it is.

      And yes additional fuse is a nice idea would look into it. I personally don't like much electrical accessories on the Motorcycle this charger i only got for its 12v socket to use my air compressor on it. For mobile i usually carry a powerbank.

    Hi bro , I have been seeing most of your videos to DIY things in my GT650 , I am trying to install a MADDOG aux lights with a wiring kit and relay of their own.
    I have a doubt , they have a one seperate wire in the wiring harness which is meant to be connected to bikes ingnition , so that the aux will turn on only when the key is on. Can I plug that cable into this socket ,Since it gets the power from battery directly and needs only this part of wire to access the ignition on status of the bike

      Sorry brother been busy with family. And for the question i am positive that you can safely use this socket for the ignition connection for the lights. Just find the male socket and see if the connection works. Otherwise remove the big rubber cover covering the main harness sockets and access the ignition coupler. Can also use the headlight socket for this if i am not wrong.

      @ijs_diy  Před 3 lety +1

    • @garagewheelz
      @garagewheelz Před 3 lety +4

      It's basically a wire that can handle 10 Amps and so anything within 10A should be good.. Check your bike fuse under the seat there is a dedicated 10A fuse that's handling this specific line.

      @ijs_diy  Před rokem +1

      It will support Usb charger and light wattage aux lights stand alone but together it might not support both at same time. For aux lights best setup is to make wiring harness with relay and take connection from ignition or direct battery as the lights normally use more power than usb charger.
