- This song was a different turn than I expected. Such a soft/smooth tone to it and a great story! As always Nightwish delivering a powerful and beautiful song! Marko all alone on his own island for this song. That just makes it work so much more!

Marko wrote the music for this one for his other band, which he is lead singer for Tarot, but they never used it. He gave is to Tuomas to write lyrics for it for Nightwish. I loved that they gave him his moment in the sun. Floor was his backing singer.
And he's actually performing it on an island. 🙃

Before Floor joined the band, Marko was my fav Nightwish vocalist. I had only his songs on my everyday playlist. Now he left the band, which is… heartbreaking? At least now we have Floor and Troy and I love both of their voices. But Marko, yeah, special guy.
I used to listen to My Dying Bride a lot. It's a doom metal band with a violin, at least, when I listened to it.
I don't remember from what album Light At The End Of The World is, but I do remember during that tour they sold lighters that said: Lighter At The End Of The World.

Hello Stamasd. Although I'm not a huge fan of Anette's voice there are some songs I like very much and this is one of them.. For me the vocals and the surrounding in that video are more suitable for the song. Greetings!

Agree with Bill, please watch the original music video, it's incredibly moving and it's slightly different with the harmonies and format of the song
This song has lyrics that I think inspired the virtual venue used for 2 Epic 1 3/4 hr ea virtual concerts at the end of May 2021 in a whimsical Virtual world location called The Islanders Arms in a Steam Punk inspired building with a lighthouse at "the end of the world" . Thought you may also find the Steam Punk inspired venue and the amazing world it was in interesting.
