It's definitely my Nightwish favourite song so I mixed the two most famous Live versions by Tarja Turunen (from "End of an Era") and Floor Jansen (from "Showtime, Storytime") with that wonderful Floor's final scream. Very good mix. Floor and Tarja are friends, any attempt to create antagonism is just a whim. Tarja has a unique voice, she has a unique vibrato. Floor may not have exactly that, but she has a great voice, and the strength and resilience she has on stage is wonderful

Ironically, despite agreeing that Tarja and Floor are two of the most incredible vocalists, I think Tuomas has hit his composer peak with the two albums that they released with Anette.

I started listening to Nightwish since Tarja era. Then Annette, Now Floor. Of the 3, Tarja the Gothic Queen, Annette the “Pop” Queen, and finally Floor, the Valkyrie Metal Queen. All have their merits. I just prefer FLOOR, because I can feel the emotion of the song when Floor sings.
Nightwish should have a concert with the 3. Just imagine that combination. It could be very very awesome...

I started following NW music just when TarJa exit ...went to NW live shows couple time with Annette ( loves & missed Annette ❤ ) also saw Floor for couple of time plus planning to see NW in Los Angeles beginning 2022 ...CANNOT WAIT !! MY FAV SYMPHONIC ROCKS BAND EVER .
I love them both. For me, it is impossible to say which one is better, because they are both incredible, irreplaceable talents, and they both are brilliant in their own ways, and I can't say anything bad about either. I love Nightwish and they've never done anything I thought was bad.
Tarja has a certain timbre to her voice that makes instantly recognizable. I prefer hers over any I have heard.
The ending which Floor added over the original is, without a doubt, EPIC.
Tarja rules always! I adore her opera voice mixed with the metal rock is awesome!

Yeah! Jukka was my favourite. I miss him in Nightwish more than Tarja or Anette. He was the pulse and his stage presence was pure rock'n'roll bad ass vibe with his bandana and tattoos.
Anette is still my favourite. yes she was the weakest live, but Dark passion play and Imaginaerum are easily my favourite NW records so she will always be the best in my eyes

+haleskiss I think he really did mean amazon because Floor is so tall and beautiful and her voice is very feminine and rich. Tarja could be compared to a sorceress because of her style of dress as well as her voice which sounds like it came straight from a fantasy its so beautiful. Really both of them have such great voices.

Awesome mix, Tarja is a beauty, but Floor is, without a doubt, the best for me!!! Her facial expressions, gestures, vocals, all together puts her in the first place!!! And the sparkle in his eyes does not fit the description, it's just mega gorgeous!!! by the way, in this mix, I noticed this difference for myself once again!!! Tarja is a mega strong vocalist, a pioneer in this direction, but Floorish, an order of magnitude better! And in general, thanks to the author for the mix!!!

Nightwish is the Music and Composition of Mastermind Mr. Holopainen. The singer isn't important imho. Tarja was great, Anette was cute, Floor is ok, but Roy Khan would fit also to the music imho...
With a matching Instrument for the main melody part and its voice , you could even do this music without a singer.

Mit dem passenden Instrument fuer die Erste Stimme, könnte man sogar auf einen Saenger verzichten.

Just watched a recent interview with Floor. She is now FLUENT IN FINNISH!! When she joined, she said that she wanted to learn to feel closer and more at home with her boys. Well she has learned, and it didn't seem like she had any trouble going into Finnish and back to English. Learn all our songs in two days? OK! Learn Finnish next? OK! Is ther anything this wonder woman can't do? Love you Floor!!
Germanic language so relatively easy to learn. I have friends that are Latinos that have learned Finnish due to the job necessity also.

Just imagine, if Tarja would ever join Nightwish on stage just for one song and do a duett with Floor... How incredible that would be, I know this will never happen, understandably so considering how Tarja and the rest of the band parted ways, but just imagine it..... IF it ever did happen, I would literally give ANYTHING to be there and see that show in person
I have always and will always be in Tarjas corner, she's the OG, I dont think Nightwish would have ven formed without her and definately not reched the heights they have, but I will never deny that Floor is an incredible singer too, and probably more versatile in her vocal abilities
And no, me saying I dont think Nightwish would have formed/reached the heights they have without Tarja does not mean that I think Tuomas and the rest of the band would not have been sucessful, they are all brilliant musicians and Tuomas a fantastic composer, I just don't think they would have done it toghether, as one band

This is perfect for someone like me who prefers this song with Tarja's operatic vocals and Floor's ending. Just my personal opinion, of course. These two make my favorite singers of the genre. Also, good job to Spydee RAJAONAH. I like this video very much. :)

I literally have more then 1500 reaction to Floors version of GLS here, and in more then 90% comment are like "WOW..." , "It is so effortless.."", "I don't what to say after that", "I need a cigarette", "Thanks Floor, now I am a blubbering mess for the rest of the day", etc, etc.
Yet, you listened to only two(!!) songs of her, and you are already able to tell that she is "forgetable" and "boring". Wow man, I must say that I admire the accute power of observation of that brilliant mind of yours! Few are to able make such astute observations as you are!
But now back to reality. If you listen to this video, you will simply hear that in the parts between 8.82 and 9.13 Tarja seems to run out of ideas and sounds boring and flat untill she throws a handkiss and walks of the stage (... leaving the song to peter out) , then Floor comes on again with her unique power and gives us the spectacular ending that she invented and that made the song world famous.
But also in the other parts of the song, Floor simply sounds better, and especially more fluent and better integrated with the music. Floor is simply the better singer.
So I remain with my view: Tarja has a certain special sound, that a certain group of people (like you) seems to like very much. Well you are welcome to it (!). Taste and preference are personal, and I wont fight you on that. I personally don't like that sound however. To me it sounds like an empty trick, that she repeats again and again, without any real personal or emotional involvement
That is why I say that Tarja is OVERRATED. Tarja is a great singer, but LIMITED (partly by her own choice) and she will never become a true great opera singer. For that she has too many technical shortcommings. And the things that she can do well, I simply don't like... (taste and preference!)
That brings me back to you. Pittyfull are people who can not see greatness because they are blinded by empty spite.

I hated Nightwish with Anette. Anette was not a bad singer, it just did not feel like Nightwish with her. With Floor it feels like Nightwish again. They need a certain type of singer for their sound.

Could it be that you just smoke some weird stuff ? Floor has neither the class nor the voice to even remotely hold a candle to Tarja. A high tone does not make an extraordinary singer. It's just average and boring. And today's success and fame Nightwish owe entirely to Tarja and not to a third-rate Dutch singer.

To be honest Tarja had to change her outfit after this song, and GLS wasnt originaly ment to finish with such a scream. Otherwise she would do something like the end of Tha phantom of the opera. On the other hand Floor is capable to add something from her to the song, so why not?

Tarja tiene la voz perfecta para el estilo sinfónico, es por eso que si estilo resalta más. Las dos cantan exelente.
Eso, Tarja tiene la voz para el metal sinfónico. Floor es versátil y eso hace bueno para varios géneros y estilos, pero no el mejor para uno.
Lo contrario es cierto. El problema de Tarja es que ese amplio vibrato 0-0-0-0-0 choca con los fuertes y complejos ritmos del Metal, impidiendo que fluya. Además, el sonido del paladar hueco de Tarja tampoco suena bien.
@@jeysonsoto5343 Por eso la voz de Floor es mejor. Tarja solo puede hacer un truco y se vuelve molesto. Floor puede expresar cualquier cosa que el compositor le pida, Y tiene el sentido de entender cómo capturar y transmitir ese sentimiento.

i think the conclusion here is. for anyone thats used to Tarja , she will always have a special place in the nightwish army , BUT Floor is just so damn good she cant be ignored , her voice is something extraordinary .
I never thought I would like anyone, other than Tarja, performing this. Floor Jansen proved me wrong! What an amazing performance :-)

I love both Tarjas and Floors voice. Both of them fit Nightwish. Both of them have classically trained voices which is what I appreciate in Nightwish music. Anette was a sweet girl with a good voice, but for me personally the classical touch is a must in Nightwishs music.
Anette's big problem is when she's on stage ... in Live singing

Es curioso porque siempre amé ambas versiones, la de Tarja por su hermosa voz y notas limpias y al final dejando escuchar los coros de segunda voz y la sinfonia que ME ENCANTAN y la de Floor por esos coros agregados que te emocionan y erizan la piel al escucharlos en vivo y siempre me imagine una version perfecta con ambas voces, al fin la encontré y es PERFECTA! Graciass!🖤

I absolutely love Floor.. but when I was introduced to Nightwish Tarja was Nightwish for me. Even loved Annette. All 3 bring their own and love that We shouldn't compare them which we do but Nightwish and the music is what makes us happy.

Floor out of this world, not even close.
Tarja might have more technique or so, but man, Floor is the better singer imho, she pulls you into the song way more with her feeling. I dont "feel" tarja
@@lillnemo1 this! Plus, Floor's touch at the end finishes the song in a purely climactic way. This is something that Tarja never did.
