I know Tolkien recorded himself reading from his books. Is that Tolkien speaking?
Plus Kalevala (Mielikki & Tapio). My guess would be, since it's a really old song. Tuomas had just read more about Lord of the Rings and Tolkien, and learned that Tolkien was inspired by Kalevala and Finnish language when he wrote about the Elves. Complete guesswork obviously, but it's fun to theorize 😊
for me personally, no matter how many symphonic metal bands there are in the world, no one can even come close to nightwish. They are not like everyone else. Love you guys.❤️❤️❤️

The instrumental part (Elvenjig) was absolutely perfect on this gig!
I love how Floors and Marcos voices complement each other. The are my favorite vocal dualists easily. 2 so powerfull voices and neither one is overbearing.
There is not another symphonic metal band out there that can even compare to nightwish!! So unique, and such an amazing and talented group in so many ways!!

I literally pack my backpack and rum, carry my old tape deck across the river into the forest and hike a trail to my spot on the forested plateau high ridge and open the night with this song about 1/3 trips, this song can bring me to tears along with a few others of your creations, thank you !

NW is a rare combination of talents, in a perfect harmony, orchestrated by Tuomas. This is too much ... I cry every time I here this, and nearly all of NW songs. Sometimes I think there's something wrong with me for crying all the time. But ... then I think ... There is soo much feelings released in their (Tuomas's) songs that it is inevitable. And all the band members are just so perfect in place. Just let your feelings free.
You're not alone in that.
The absolute joy on the band members' faces during the intro is exactly why we love Nightwish so much, just look at that huge grin from Toumas! ❤️

elvenjig is just so magical masterpiece to ears.
It's hard to digest the sadness of Marko's leaving.
We can only pray that there's a chance for his return. Nightwish has adapted to other losses and kept creating great music. They'll definitely have to change without their secret lead singer. But while seeing Tarja back on stage with them is a pipe dream, I'll have to keep hope that isn't the case for Marko.
Let’s keep hope that his health improves and he feels like playing for us again. He said he may come back one day, so it is a possibility.

Also... the harmony choices in the vocals during the chorus create what’s become one of my favorite sounds in music.

That envy can be felt up to where I am on the other side of the world. I don't think it's Argentina's fault that the bands didn't come to Colombia, but it's clear that the logical reasoning was never strong in Latin America.
Amigo, yo me puse triste al saber que no podría ir a Bogotá a ver a Nightwish, ya me tocara cuando vuelvan a Colombia... deberías saber que las plazas que más atraen en LATAM son México, Argentina, Chile en Colombia el apoyo es poco, antes vinieron.. y eso que Colombia se volvió plaza para las bandas de metal luego de la 1er ves que llego Iron Maiden.

Oh the memories of early days of Nightwish that elvenpath brings to me. Was couple of their 1st ever live shows in "97-98" when they released their 1st album Angels fall first. I had broken wrist but still went to see them play. Had a blast when they played in small nightclub and yelled Tuomas to sing male parts of beauty and the beast. He was kinda embarrased, lol. One of my favorite bands ever since then!
It's totally insane...the whole band is phenomenal BUT no matter the genre the song, the time,the language,she makes everything better

Или как всегда в последнее время политика сделает своё дело и придётся ехать в другую страну чтобы наконец-то попасть на одну из лучших на мой взгляд зарубежных рок групп. Мне бы на Тарью Турунен попасть пока она ещё выступает)))))).

The musicians in this band are fn bosses...love seeing Marko switch off so easily playing a nice guitar riff straight into a thundering bass line on the same double guitar. So badass. And Troy was rocking two wind instruments. 🙌

I'm so glad we have Nightwish. And happy for that the band is doing so well, Floor is the most perfect female vocalist they could ever find. Sometimes destiny just makes you to go the right way. I mean after Anette left, the band was in crisis but everything worked out in a good way.
