@@TheDolen Jukka is more of a showman than Kai I think. Kai is probably a better drummer as far as skill. I only saw them with Kai live, and hopefully will see them again on June 5th in Tampere (I’ll be super pissed if it gets cancelled)
They are both great. Jukka played harder than Kai. I know I've been playing drums for 43 years. It's funny that Jukka and Emppu look like me and my guitar player on stage. Too funny :)

58 yrs. old . Came across Nightwish about a month ago and have not stopped listening to them every spare minute since. Tarja is great but Floor Jansen is the simply the best rock or metal vocalist EVER!
I'm young enough to have been a fan since I was 13, and yeah Floor is their best singer. Anyone insisting Tarja or Anette were better would only do so because they're nostalgic, or because they know little of music and never played an instrument nor sung themselves. It's great to see the 50+ (or baby boomers) in the modern day era aren't as rigid and musically unadventurous as former generations.
I was late to the Nightwish party myself, about 2012 (at age 58), I found them via the Phantom music video which left me saying WTF! How come I didn't find them sooner! And then I learned they had already dropped Tarja and picked up Annette and I was heartbroken. I started listening to a lot of euro symphonic metal, including After Forever, and I thought them OK. Then I heard Nightwish dropped Annette mid tour and added Floor and I was, ugh that's not a stable band. Then I heard Nightwish videos at Wacken 2013 and wow. Just wow. Nightwish has been good for Floor and vice versa. Paul, Nightwish tours the US a lot and crowds are small and the shows are as good as when they play Wacken. So go. Buy a VIP ticket and meet them, they are nice as can be. And I guess you know Floor can sing Puccini too (its on CZcams).
I am a year younger, but everyday i discover more of Nightwish, and altough i am Dutch, i love the band, and not particularly just Nightwish with Floor Jansen, but she really takes Nightwish to an higher level
OMG, 52 years old and now I find the greatest METAL group ever and can't stop listening to them. I just can't get enough. All their songs are amazing and Floor rocks the MFin house.
How many times have I watched this concert? And the Tampere concert? And Wembley.... Floor Jansen is a gift for this world. And Tuomas is unbelievably talented.

Well we just lost Marko and his leaving Nightwish will be even worse than Jukka's retirement. It's going to be very difficult to find a bass player who can match Floor's vocals like Marko did and there's nobody else in the band who sings. :-(

I've been a huge fan of Nightwish for almost 10 years now. I own all their stuff and I've seen them live. The 29th of August I saw them in Trondheim, Norway and this was the first time seeing Floor. I have to say, she is the most talented woman I've ever seen and heard on stage. Like, who needs Tarja and Anette when you have fucking Floor Jansen?! Don't get me wrong, I like Tarja and Anette too in their own way, but Floor really blew me away. Thanks to her I actually cried like a shitkid on their concert. She gave me this really great concert feeling and Anette never managed to give me that. I'm absolutely going to be front row on their concerts later. She made front row feel like heaven!!

I have never seen Nightwish with Tarja, sadly, but I don't think she would've given the audience the warmth and connection that Floor has. One of the things I love most about Floor is how well her voice harmonises with Marco's. He's a force of nature too, and with Floor, the colours of his voice stand out do well❤😍 and in this song, that is very evident 😍

But I have to say that the "Song of Myself" and especially the Live in Wacken 13, is an absolute diamond, and my favourite NW song. It has so much pain, despair, agony. "Smiling like a clown until the show has come to an end ..." Jesus, what a Verse.... In Nightwish, Floor Jansen has found the perfect vehicle for her incredible voice and talent. She has met an equally talented composer and arranger that pushes her limits while the musicianship of the band is in the high range of talent. Notwithstanding her previous bands (After Forever or ReVamp), Nightwish is in a class by iself way beyond the others.
I don't think Floor sees Nightwish as a vehicle. I think she really feels part of the band, and that works both ways, and that is one of the reasons it works so well.

Nightwish is a group of talented and professional people who really respect each other for what they can do, and have fun working together... When you call it a "vehicle" you seem to be implying that Nightwish is something that that only serves the personal advancement for the individual members (that's how we use the word "Vehicle" in Dutch anyway, I don't know if that is the same in English, which is not my native language..), and I think that is exactly the mentality that got Tarja fired... But with the currect members I don't see that mentality... That's why I objected to it. As a 71 year old fan of good music I was blown away the first time that I saw this video. I wouldn't have expected that the genre of symphonic metal would appeal to me but I've always enjoyed great vocals with powerful and melodic supporting instruments. This particular recording at Wacken simply "Floored" me. An extremely well-done performance and recording, powerful yet meaningful, intricate and balanced -- one of the best live recordings ever! Sadly the members in 2013 are trickling away. All Hale Nightwish!

One of the things I love most about Floor is how well her voice harmonises with Marco's. He's a force of nature too, and with Floor, the colours of his voice stand out do well❤😍 and in this song, that is very evident 😍

My opinion, sure, "Ghost Love Score", "The poet and the pendulum", "The greatest show on Earth", are perhaps their most iconic songs and live performances.
But I have to say that the "Song of Myself" and especially the Live in Wacken 13, is an absolute diamond, and my favourite NW song.
It has so much pain, despair, agony.
"Smiling like a clown until the show has come to an end ..."

In Nightwish, Floor Jansen has found the perfect vehicle for her incredible voice and talent. She has met an equally talented composer and arranger that pushes her limits while the musicianship of the band is in the high range of talent. Notwithstanding her previous bands (After Forever or ReVamp), Nightwish is in a class by iself way beyond the others.

I don't think Floor sees Nightwish as a vehicle. I think she really feels part of the band, and that works both ways, and that is one of the reasons it works so well.
If Nightwish is a vehicle they are driving the HELL out of it. And everybody gets to ride
@@jamesbrackett1302 I get your analogy (or metaphore) of driving the hell out of it and giving everybody a ride part of your analogy, and I do agree with that, but the thing is that a vehicle is an impersonal thing. Nightwish is a group of talented and professional people who really respect each other for what they can do, and have fun working together... When you call it a "vehicle" you seem to be implying that Nightwish is something that that only serves the personal advancement for the individual members (that's how we use the word "Vehicle" in Dutch anyway, I don't know if that is the same in English, which is not my native language..), and I think that is exactly the mentality that got Tarja fired... But with the currect members I don't see that mentality... That's why I objected to it. So..., YES I do agree with the driving the hell out of it, and giving everybody a ride part of the analogy, but I do not agree with the impersonal / egoistic part of it...

As a 71 year old fan of good music I was blown away the first time that I saw this video. I wouldn't have expected that the genre of symphonic metal would appeal to me but I've always enjoyed great vocals with powerful and melodic supporting instruments. This particular recording at Wacken simply "Floored" me. An extremely well-done performance and recording, powerful yet meaningful, intricate and balanced -- one of the best live recordings ever! Sadly the members in 2013 are trickling away. All Hale Nightwish!

I have been listening all their songs for almost three months now. With maybe Jinjer in between. With every song I say "this is their best song", and then I listen another song, and I say the same. But with this song it is different, I have been stuck to this song. I think therefore this is their best song, I think.
