Listen to the "Islander" where Mrco sings low and later high...sounds wonderful!! That Live version on stage, where he talks in his own language!!

I went to Nightwish concert and honestly, the LIVE quality was much better than the audio version. She’s hardly a human being, may be a siren.
it's just that Floor has this HUGE passion... you can feel it in the song, she is so good and gives so much while she sings that she has been capable of bringing Nightwish to life once again

She has an amazing voice, she can headbang, growl and all of this stuff, but most important of all, she's got a incredible aura of power, beauty and kindness that makes her presence on the stage just... divine. Hopefully he'll be back, but I doubt it. Once you hop off the Nightwish carousel, there doesn't seem to be any getting back on. Anette left temporarily to be a mom, but Floor then replaced her permanently. Jukka left for health reasons and had the same thing happen. Shame because Marko is an amazing vocalist.

I saw them live like... 2005? The thing I remember the most about that show was just what an incredible sweet heart Marko was. Tarja was kinda quiet between the songs and didn't really interact with the audience at all but Marko, he was just all over the place, sang dumb songs with us and shit. It was amazing and now I'm sad I don't get to see him live again

I grew up with Nightwish and Tarja, then I turned my back on them when Anette joined (no hate, just wasn't my cup of tea) and saw them again some years back on a festival. I had heard of Floor but didn't know what to expect. But oh gosh... I got blown away. I was standing second to third row and I had goosebumps the entire concert. Tears streaming down my face I fell in love with my old favourite band all over again

As much as I love End of an Era, I maintain that Wacken 2013 is the band’s zenith. The sheer energy of the performance is out of this world.

There honestly isn't anything whatsoever special about the musicianship in this band, at the very beginning of this band the guitars, bass, drums etc were not noticed by anyone. Only the vocals were. The main change with Annette was just the uptempo songs that had a more poppy feel. Take from that what you will, some like that, some don't. But no denying Tarja got them on the map. As for Floor, she's great for the band.
I know that a lot of hardcore Nightwish fans will always love Tarja and all; but... Man! Floor Jansen is amazing. What a voice.

+AleJuliet Was it stupid to fire vocalists who had caused already for a longer time stress and insecurity about the band's future? Tarja was more interested in starting her own solo career and her husband/manager represented her in negotiations - she nearly lost the direct communication with the band. The way she was fired was very stupid though. What comes to Anette, she got pregnant in the middle of a world tour and then refused to accept a normal maternity leave and a substitute while she would not have been able to do the gigs herself, but she asked the band to postpone them. She would've had to take sick leaves several times too, so it would surely have been better for her to stay safely at home anyway, instead of travelling long ways. She could have come back after maternity leave, but she messed up the things for herself.

Lori Lewis proves that a great classically trained soprano can do metal. Unfortunately she's rare. Most of the classical singers in metal are more freestyle than actually using a specific technique like professional opera singers do.

+SageFox a lot of female singers are sopranos. Floor actually is to. Soprano has nothing to do with opera. Soprano means you can reach very high notes. Like Tarja can. But Floor can too. I for example cannot. I'm a mezzo-soprano. Soprano, mezzo-soprano, alt they are terms that are used to point out the vocal range. But soprano doesn't necessary means you sing like an opera singer. In operas soprano's are most common because of their high range of notes. And yeah Tarja could sing like she was singing an opera. But every voice is unique. And Floor's soprano voice is beautiful in her own unique way. She fits in better in this genre than Anette did but I don't "hate" Anette because she also had a wonderful voice. But her voice just didn't really belong to this genre I feel. Floor's voice does. And I love her voice just as much as Tarja's voice but both in their own unique way. If you only like Tarja's voice quit complaining. She has gone solo so you can still listen to her if it's all about the voice to you!!!

@@lenn741 Sorry, I was mistaken... Kai works with Nightwish since 2014, when Jukka had to take some time off due to his insomnia condition. Back then he played with them during a tour untill Jukka returned.
But in 2019 Jukka announced his pernanent retirement from Nightwish, so Kai is now the permanent drummer in the band.

I'm 53 and an OG thrash\death metal musician and I love this band... They just sound amazing live which, to me, has always been the measure of true talent.
Everyone is always mentioning Floor/Tarja etc but goddamn, Marco has an insanely good voice, love his tone and power, and really hope he gets more vocal time in the new album

First I couldn't get over the Tarja version because I felt it was the "right" one, but now I adore Floors version, there's so much power and emotion in her voice.

ONCE in a lifetime Performance. Saw it live 2 times, but it was Never so powerfull like this.

gio kavtaradze There is certainly some bias present then. While Tarja is slightly better technically, Floor has much better voice quality.
With Floor I believe the band can do much better,Tarja is unique and great but because of this she also restricted the band's craetivity. Anette has a powerful voice but without the "Nightwish" technique.She was kinda suck when she sing "Tarja's songs".Floor has opera technique and a very powerful voice. She can sing every Nightwish's song perfectly. I believe she is indeed the perfect match for the band really looking forward to their next album!!!
I sincerely believe that, after years with Anette, one could easily create a good judgement of Nightwish's next vocal. Tarja was a great vocalist, and still is. Floor's voice is not the same as her's, is a great voice as well and it fits the band's music. I can not ask for much else.

I had a deep feeling of regret and sorrow when Tarja left Nightwish... I almost gave up listening to nightwish... Anette did not manage to alleviate this sorrow at all... but Floor, oh my God, Floor she brought joy to my heart! She seems to me the perfect singer to continue where Tarja left off (notice: to continue, not to replace). I'm actually looking forward to hear her singing as the personal touch she brings is fantastic and, as I said, she can continue along the path Tarja walked without any problems... All this time I was expecting someone to replace and sing exactly as Tarja did, but oh my God, how Floor proved me wrong!

She's a giantess and yet she has this incredible grace... so delicate and light as she moves, and yet extremely sensual. Unique. And let us not even start with the vocal skills. Never felt these chills with anyone before.

I can't understand why many Tarja fans come here just to criticize Floor and deslike video. Tarja has another project now. Nightwish is passed to her. And this is over 15 years old...
I was big fan of Nightwish back with Tarja, she was very unique and special. Although, I must admit that this is the best Nigthwish in their history. I wish they will record their best songs from the old days again with Floor. She really fits the band, performs great on live and her voice is just outstanding.
