    This concluded approximately 30m of research on whether or not I should get a crossover for our band's PA, and the answer is YES! Thanks!
    Can't wait for our mains to stop trying to push massive bass through them!

    This is from an article I read which kinda make sense, " Most active crossover networks are adjustable. That means by turning a knob or moving a switch, you can change the crossover frequency. This flexibility makes active crossovers suitable for use with almost any speaker system. Most active crossovers also include level controls, so you can easily fine-tune the level of the midrange and tweeter to compensate for different mounting locations.
    Active crossovers don’t care how powerful your amplifiers are because they process the signal before it enters the amplifier. Active crossovers are also not very sensitive to temperature variations, so they can be very accurate, all the time. If one of the amplifiers channels in an active crossover system clips, the distortion only affects that single channel." So, if you have a mismatch set, using an active xover might work for you. It sure does for me.

    Instead of just standing up talking to us about it could you SHOW us using your own speakers! You should watch others' vids to learn how to teach better using demonstration. I still thumbs up your vid!!

      Bro. Sanchez TV I could do that, if I had any of this stuff. I personally use software daw’s or other types of digital gear for my own setups.

    Probably a dumb question but, i have powered tops and passive subs. Im having issues with sound only really coming out of the horn on the tops. Any advice?

    I have EV 15 powered mains and 15 powered sub. How do you take away the drums from the mains. I wanted to just hear it at the sub.

    • @3minutegenius571
      @3minutegenius571  Před 5 lety +2

      chetvoxx you would want to just mic the kick drum, as it is really the only sub centric item on the kit, and then eq it, taking out the highs and mids, to minimize their presence in the tops. This is not the ideal way to mic a kick drum however. Many believe the sub frequencies are what they desire, when actually, it is the high mids, (around 1200~2.5k) that provide the kick drum’s definition in a mix.

    my question to you is, I have two ev zlx 12p and I also have a three ways crossover which I will not get rid of would it be better to hook them up on the mid section on on the high section?

    • @3minutegenius571
      @3minutegenius571  Před 5 lety

      kuna D if you have a switch on your cross over to turn it into a two channel, that would be best. Otherwise, run it from the mids and sweep the high pass as far up as it will go, to get all the highs you can. If it’ll go up to say 5k, it shouldn’t sound too muffled. You just don’t want a gap between the subs and tops.

    • @allancarter6473
      @allancarter6473 Před 4 lety +2

      Out of mixer to an active crossover.then set you mid tops to the mid high out of crossover and active sub to the low out. See manuals for crossover point for sub, this wY only sub signal goes to the sub and not mid top. If more help needed as I for email
