YES!!! Yet another kit I built in my youth. I remember it distinctly. Especially building that huge engine.
I loved these old JoHan kits I myself preferred the Comet because I owned 3 of the actual car all V8s with 302s in them .
I own a 74 and I've been looking for one for forever
I remember that Testors had reissued this kit. I think it was in the late 90's. Maybe somebody out there has the tooling. Hey maybe round 2 has them. Wouldnt that be nice!
This was the first kit I ever got back back in the 1970s. My mother purchased it at a Zellers for $2.75. I was way too young to build this properly and so I never finished it and it got lost. My younger brother purchased the kit around 2010. It's in absolutely perfect condition and nothing is missing and the box is perfect. It was the kit I most wanted to get back all these decades and I intend to build it once I bring up my modelling skills to a decent level; I want to do this kit justice. This kit brings me back such incredibly strong nostalgic emotions that I can't wait to build it.
If you're missing the instruction sheet I could scan mine and send you the PDF version of it.
I recently found a maverick model kit from smh resins. I bought two with the grabber hood accessory. I'm gonna paint one pastel blue and the other lime green. Both will have black decal hood and side panels. Cannot wait to start on those!!!
I picked up a AMC Rambler Scrambler glue bomb with original box ., Instructions, decals talk about building it right out of the box green on green on green ... Yuck will be posting build on the FB site ... Thanks for Sharing
I think Jo-han got their start making promo models for the manufacturers so the body dimensions are usually spot on
The wheels are Fenton Gyros. The side of the box has them listed.
Jo-Han kits were famous for being unusual cars...60 Plymouth, 59 Rambler wagon, for example..
Thanks to modern 3d printing, one of these with a 300 six cylinder and you could recreate the old 'Preparation H' car...
That was a cool look at a great kit ! I probably had all of the Johan kits a couple times over....and would love to have them all again ! 🍻
There needs to be a company to come out with a modern version of this car/kit.
The old kits are fun nice builds thanks for a friend in canada Rob ✌
Yes they are Robert
Cool kit... you don’t see those every day... thanks for sharing
I’ve got 3 or 4 Mercury Comets , but only one Maverick that’s built . I think the maverick is the harder one to find .
I have a quite a few of jo Jan models I think I have the Maverick depinto dragster 20-car dragon Lady in awhile since I've looked up there I know I have the the comit drag car
This kit is available on the Modelroundup web site for about $150, not factory sealed. I bought this in the early 80s and turned it to stock with many modifications from other kits including a 6 cylinder engine from a 51 Chevy.
If you haven't. Join the Model Car Hobby Headquarters and post pics of that Maverick model. I would love to see it.
I just joined the club, and will post some Maverick photos soon.
I never built the Maverick, but did do a couple of comet's, and you're absolutely right, really cool kits!
Love the old kits thanks for showing it.
I still have a few Jo-Han kits in my stash. My fav is my Jo-Han Chrysler Turbine Car. I have a built Chrysler 300, too. I wish someone would do another Maverick kit, even if it isn't a Jo-Han reissue. My parents had a white and orange 73 Grabber, so it has a special place in my heart.
Thanks for your report-Jo-Hanbausätze are very, very rare here in Germany and actually not to get.
Thanks for the review. I built the original Fast Eddy kit that had the Motor Wheel Spyder rims.
I remember that kit
Still looking for one of these kits
Jo hahn was the best , love there models
JoHan although simplified, had spot on bodies. The 69 Road Runner body better than the AMT.
Yes I love those two not a big fan of the molded in suspension on models but none the less there great models
The old Jo-Han kits were great.
You talk a lot about supporting your Chanel but I don’t recall seeing any comments from you on mine 🤔
Hey Luka I have built a few of the Jo Han kits they were great kits. These days I build a lot of kits from Round two , mostly AMT and Revel . Occasionally a Lindberg kit. Those are not quite the quality the parts don't fit nicely sometimes and quite a bit of flash Wich I can live with both . I have a question for you why are the funny cars from the seventies with the lift up bodies why are they so much more expensive than a Chevelle or Camaro kit they seem to run about $45.00 $65.00 and up . Love all your videos try to catch them all. Keep them coming. Sometime can you show us how to do a very detailed diesel engine like for semis or construction equipment. I have started building those kind of kits and could use some ideas advice ??? Thanks 👍
Wish I had one of these, I used to drive a 71 - 4 door Maverick, with the straight 6 and Automatic transmission. It realy was a sold car. Didnt someone make a 1971 - 4 door Marerick, maybe a Promo version?
@Hey Yo Ya I think that was it, but I never saw one of them, otherwise I probably would buy one.
Very cool, I have that kit also.
Man I love the Ford cammer engine.
Nice review. Would to find a maverick kit to build. The first car l bought was a 72 maverick yellow black vinyl top inline six automatic.
Luka, I keep waiting for you to do some builds. What's going on? Do you do build videos?
Nope. There are plenty of other build channels. You must not watch my videos and listen to what I've said. I've stated from the begining that this is NOT a build channel. You want to watch someone build a car model. You build one yourself. That is what this channel is all about. You building. Not me.
I've built that kit it has always been a favorite of mine because I built it of a car I had in my 20's. I have the directions still let me know if you want some pics of them for you to print in case you go to build it.
Nice kit! Pretty sure Comp Resins offers a Maverick P/S body if someone doesn’t want to shell out $80-$100+ for this kit from eBay.
Yes they do offer it
Definitely JOE-Han, company was named after founder John Hanley.
I had this kit back in the day. All that's left is the hood
Funny I’ve got this kit ( I’ve the Comet that’s built ) had the Maverick in a box since the mid/late 80’s , just built it last year finally , it was complete except the hood . I made it into a straight axle gasser , tunnel ram Boss 429 , left the hood off !
The engine is a cool part of this kit (separate block, bell housing, and 4 speed) I can understand why you would use it on another kit.
Yeah, I know. Buy I don't tjink I did put it in another build. Im only missing the block and heads. I know I have another one. But the car I want to build with this kit has a small block.
Nice
Are these available?
No unfortunately. And probably will never be.
@@TheLukaCeeChannel Bum....er.
