Hi my name is Carl Jacobson,
I started woodworking with my grandfather as a young boy. I continued woodworking through high school, and started woodturning after seeing a turned project in a friends shop. Some of my fondest memories are working with my grandfather in his wood shop. Being able to share our passion for woodworking, ties it all together. We also do a lot of epoxy projects as well as woodturning. - Jak na to + styl
Best soundtrack I've ever heard on a woodworking video!
Thanks Man! My wife Robin has a good ear :)

Excellent, definitely a project for me. Great soundtrack.. made it twice as enjoyable.

Thank you Jane!
Lovely twist on the humble lidded box Carl👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎
Thank you Alan!!
I really like when you do these kinds of videos. When I see a time stamp of close to an hour or more I'm not inclined to watch. But I really like seeing your projects in videos like this one.
Agree completely. I learned how to turn from videos like this but anything over 30 minutes and I’m gone.
I'm just the opposite, I like longer videos that include instruction. I would prefer a video with the turner talking (either as the project is done, or as a voice-over afterwards) telling me what wood, tool is being used, sizes, etc. Yes, the first one or two will be copies but then I will start adding my own "touches" to it.

If you like longer videos with a good teacher, then you should take a look at the channel "turn a wood bowl". Very interesting and informative.
Thank you very much Thomas!!
Thank you!

When I drill with large forstner bits I drill a few relief holes because they get so hot, Great idea for the box. love the music also

Loved the sliding drawer idea for the box. I have never seen that idea before. Just a wonderful slant on something that could be plain. Stay safe young sir.
Thank you John!! I think it really has a lot of possibilities too! Take care!
That was a really great idea for a box, I will have to give that a try. Thank you for sharing your video.
Thank you Mark!!
Потрясающий пенал!!! 👍
Спасибо!!
A different take on the lidded box for sure ...Love it and now on my list to try my hand at making one😃
Cheers and take care, Bram
Thank you very much Bram!! Happy Easter!
Hi Carl, That is a brilliant box. I'm keeping this video for reference when I make one. Great video Carl. Take care mate. Cheers, Huw
Thank you, take care Huw!!
What a great piece! I guess with very careful fitting the inner drawer could have an “air fit.” Lots of ideas and possibilities. Thanks.
Thank you Doug!! Yes using the forstner bit helps to get the wall thickness even all the way down.
Hey Carl, Is that Australia oil you’re using? If it is you only need use use a few drops on a rag. The trick I’ve found with it is to burnish it at very high rpms and it cures it immediately. 3 coats and done. I’ve had a tiny bottle that’s lasted ages. Great project. Thanks.
Hey Eric, Thank you!! It's Howard Bees Wax
Good job Carl!!! which is the finish? bee wax?, thanks for all, Sergio
Thank you Sergio! Yes it's bees wax
Nice music
Thank you!!
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯👌👍🤝
Thank you!!
Hi, excellent project and design, what type of wood do I use?
Thank you Roberto!! I used Walnut and Maple. I recommend using a straight grain wood for this project.
Buona Pasqua dall'Oregon!
Neat design! I thought you had lost it when the spindle sander showed up 😃
lol Thank you Lewis!
Which chuck is that with the quick release jaws? Me likey.
It's the Easy Wood Chuck, It's awesome!! amzn.to/2PpscdM

Knocked it out of the park!
Thanks buddy!
Did learn this by trial and error ?
I make cryptex quite a bit, so it's something I do a lot :)
Use borderlands 2 thematic music its suits this very well
Thank you :)
what does the class cost
It's $10 here's the link if your interested, bit.ly/33zhDit
Excuse me sir, that is not a box, that is a cylinder. A box has flat sides and a lid. Great work on the cylindrical container though!
Does it count that I sanded the bottom flat and it has a lid ;)
@@CarlJacobson LOL!!! TOTALLY!
bom, mas vc fala muito , deixa o video longo e cansativo
Thanks Walter!
Talk to me man ...
no cutting sound, not interesting..
