    Hello good day. I'm close to 4 months out and I'm studying all over the place. But Im trying to use mainly uworld but I keep getting most of the questions wrong and it's kinda demotivating. I tried using videos and Anki but it feels too overwhelming sometimes. I remembered you saying the exams where alot similar to nbmes do you think I can just study nbmes 20-30 to pass step 1? If so could you please share some advice if possible?

    • @travelfreak6901
      @travelfreak6901 Před rokem

      Naaah I would recommend none to do such a mistake
      Actual exam was no way close to nbmes
      It’s atleast 80% uworld qbank styled
      Many questions get you confused bw two options or twk diagnosis even FA doesn’t help I had such a confusion bw impetigo phemphigous and bullous vulgaris with just a pic given and history they gave was helping at all and there will be a lot more like that
      Just stay focused try to master uworld kinda learn how uworld presents the question
      Another big mistake I did was doing Amboss and rx 2weeks out and studying FA last two weeks and had last touched uworld atkeast 3 months out before uni finals but I would recommend what I think would’ve been better atleast prepare the uworld q bank rught ahead of your prep like I Should’ve taken it bfr uni exams and then be done studying FA 2 weeks and do random questions esp wrongs in last weeks and then take uswa2 and free 120 on last day
      Take uswa 1 ahead eg 2 months out
      And keep kn taking nbmes months earlier to evaluate if you need to put more effort but again I was told do nbmes do max no of them but didn’t find it much helpful to have wasted early 2nd last week on that and getting depressed
      “Uworld qbank is most imp thinggggg”
      Questions are lengthy do work on time management since early cz I thought I would practice it near end and would’ve gotten it but………………. I could’ve hardly a min left to review the marked ones which I couldn’t apparently do in many blocks
      Plus even if you feel like failing in many blocks don’t panic cz it won’t do any good instead chaos won’t let you focus and will affect the other blocks what you can’t get don’t let that destroy what you can
      It needs practice I had poor such skills too yup evn on exam day😢

    Congratulation! Just one question, one thing I noticed is that you did not mention thoroughly studying from the First Aid book. So your "content review" was only relying on the fundamentals you acquired at university, sketchy micro, Pathoma and the ANKING deck?
    If yes, then what do you think about what many students recommend which is memorizing every single detail in the First Aid book from cover to cover?
    Thanks in advance.

    • @YousefTanas
      @YousefTanas  Před 2 lety +4

      Yes, my content review was basically Anking. Pathoma and SketchyMicro were 1.5 years out and just helped build my foundation.
      I was in the same boat and thought that I have to memorize every detail in FA, but after I took my exam I felt that I didn't really need it. So no, it's not necessary. And personally, I never got to read it all.

      my concern on CK is that my memory is good but isn't sufficient to benefit enough from the questions such that I can justify doing them without review.
      for example, you had mentioned taking uworld and then your second run feeling as though you remembered your answers.
