    trust me. doing uworld in timed mode is complete opposite of its purpose. this is the most annoying thing people keep talking about. UWORLD is a LEARNING TOOL. you do questions and learn from the questions. I'm not saying you spent 2 hrs to finish one block. Spend time with the questions, learn how to read, learn how to pick up key words. TIMED MODE is for simulation before the real deal. You have nbme, free 120, 2 uworld tests. You dont need extra timed mode. Hope to save some souls out there.

    The trend nowadays is now forming better doctor researchers, not clinicians. Some of the best doctors I know from different countries don't do a lot of research because they're busy with actual patients. Also explains why IMGs are far far rarer in competitive specialties.

    I was in the last class to get an actual score back, and you probably could get away with just 1 month of dedication to pass, 1 content review source, and 1 question bank, anything else is wasting your money. A close friend of mine got a 196 with 0 time studying. The bar is so low to pass, I wouldn't even stress over it. How to be competitive? high step 2 score, research in chosen field, great LOR, and a phenomenal audition somewhere, that is it nothing else to it.

    Hello Dr malke asaad as usual great content...I have 2 questions if you can clarify..I took step 1 before pass/fail and am awaiting my score..I plan to take step 2 ck in 2022 and apply for match in 2023..
    1) will my usmle transcript contain step 1 score or just pass/fail?
    2) if I get a good step 1 score will I have any leverage over others who took exam after it became pass/fail in my residency application.. In other words will my score be regarded or ignored completely?? Thanks in advance

    • @fearlessverses
      @fearlessverses Před 2 lety

      1. You will get a score on your transcript as you took the exam before Jan 25th 2022.
      2. Yes, you are at an advantage compared to applicants with p/f IF you have a very good score.
