Whats the acceptable play for a new dropper post? I have a Tranz-X. I rode with it once and it seems like it has play but i could just be ignorant about the normal play for these things.

Just performed the maintenance shown in the video and my keyways look mint, no wear on the stantion, lower split bushing looks mint, upper split bushing looks mint and both oriented correctly… still getting the excess play.
I suppose ill order a new lower split bushing?
    😪

Sorry for the delay here, but your best bet is to contact our support team by either calling in or emailing support@sdgcomponents.com. Please let them know the type of excess play (rotational, fore & aft) so they can better help diagnose and fix the issue.

You really need three keyways not just two,and they need to be brass not some type of plastic.

Thanks for the comment. We stuck with two keyways as the stiction increases too much by adding a 3rd keyway. The PTFE keyways that we use allows for super tight tolerance and minimal play both out of the box and after use. Unlike with brass or copper keyways where you can't get as tight of tolerance and the play gets worse the more you use it.
