    Tightening the oil cartridge this way is good for a little while, but the proper way to tighten the cartridge is to follow the instructions at the 2 minute mark of this video. czcams.com/video/xzMsTkaYB34/video.html You'll need to hold the spinning cartridge rod with an inner tube and pliers so the rod doesn't keep spinning.

    • @SDGCOMPONENTS
      @SDGCOMPONENTS Před 8 měsíci

      If you take out all tension from the cable via the barrel adjuster at the lever, then this should allow the head of the cable to be removed from the actuator without replacing the cable. You'll likely need to remove the lever from the bar and guide the housing through the frame so that you can access the base of the actuator, but all this can be done without removing the cable.

    A lot of people use some type of grease on the post to prevent it from moving, my bike is not carbon, do I need it ?

    • @SDGCOMPONENTS
      @SDGCOMPONENTS Před 8 měsíci

      If you have an aluminum frame then just use a light film of grease on the post to keep it from binding in the frame. You can use the carbon paste/friction paste if you wish as it does help increase friction, but it certainly isn't necessary. Just follow the recommended torque specs on your frame or seat collar and you shouldn't have any slippage issues.

    You really need three keyways not just two,and they need to be brass not some type of plastic.

    • @SDGCOMPONENTS
      @SDGCOMPONENTS Před 9 měsíci

      Thanks for the comment. We stuck with two keyways as the stiction increases too much by adding a 3rd keyway. The PTFE keyways that we use allows for super tight tolerance and minimal play both out of the box and after use. Unlike with brass or copper keyways where you can't get as tight of tolerance and the play gets worse the more you use it.

      Sorry about that Dana, but that's a good suggestion. We'll get a video of that on our to do list! Removing it is fairly straight forward. First you add slack to the cable by threading the barrel adjuster in. Then remove the lever from the bar and feed the housing through the frame so that the base of the post is exposed. From there you simply pop out the cable head and the post is free from the bike. Installing it is just the opposite of this process (pop cable head into actuator, feed post and housing into frame, attach lever to bar and then remove slack from cable by threading barrel adjuster out.
