Lori Vallow Daybell remains silent during arraignment, judge enters not guilty plea on her behalf

- ST. ANTHONY - Lori Vallow Daybell was silent during an arraignment Tuesday, and her attorney asked the judge to enter a not guilty plea on her behalf to murder and other charges.
Seated next to her attorneys, Jim Archibald and John Thomas, Daybell was dressed in a blue shirt, gray dress slacks and blue-framed glasses. She showed no emotion as District Judge Steven Boyce read out the felonies she faces in relation to the deaths of her children and current husband’s first wife. Those charges include:
First-degree murder in the death of Tylee Ryan
First-degree murder in the death of JJ Vallow
First-degree murder in the death of her current husband Chad Daybell’s first wife, Tammy Daybell
Conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and grand theft by deception in the death of Tylee Ryan
Conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and grand theft by deception in the death of JJ Vallow
Conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in the death of Tammy Daybell
Grand theft related to Social Security survivor benefits over $1,000 allocated for the care of minors Tylee Ryan and JJ Vallow that were appropriated after the children were missing and ultimately found deceased.
Archibald indicated Daybell is not waiving her right to a speedy trial and her trial is currently scheduled with Chad’s in January 2023.
This is Daybell’s first public court hearing since she was declared incompetent for trial in June 2021. After spending 10 months in an Idaho Department of Health and Welfare facility, Boyce deemed her fit for trial last week and she was transferred to the Madison County Jail, where Fremont County female inmates are housed, early Thursday morning.
JJ Vallow’s grandparents, Larry and Kay Woodcock, along with Annie Cushing, Tylee Ryan’s aunt, were at the arraignment. As the judge discussed JJ and his death, the Woodcocks broke down crying.
The arraignment happened about an hour after a separate hearing for Chad wrapped up. The focus of that hearing was the cost of busing jurors from Ada County to Fremont County for what was originally a joint trial. Prosecutors argued it will be significantly cheaper to have jurors brought in rather than holding proceedings in Boise. Chad’s attorney asked the court to uphold its original decision.
Boyce will issue a written ruling on the matter at a later date.
Chad also faces multiple counts of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder and insurance fraud. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and remains in the Fremont County Jail.

Women in prison are very resourceful and make due with the little they have, and so do each other's hair, often via old fashioned methods, etc. Sometimes they even make their own make up. But also, lawyers are sometimes allowed to bring those accoutrements for court appearances.

Joe was one of Lori's many husband's and he is also deceased (you can see her in the courtroom around the 1:11 timestamp, and she also has a good channel which i think is called The Murderous Heart where she deep dives into all of this and all of the FOIA documents).There's good reason to believe Lori and/or her brother were involved and Annie has been asking that they open her brothers case back up. Unfortunately as of right now, no luck. Hopefully that changes though!

Accordingly, Lori Daybell is not traumatized, which would be a prerequisite for any dissociation, since antisocial personalities cannot be traumatized through committing crimes or being accused of them. If a mentally impaired person is incapable of compassion or guilt, they are automatically incapable of dissociation. Why do you think Daybell is dissociating, and from what? From fear? Very unlikely. Also, she was deemed capable of standing trial, so any maladaptive response has already been ruled out.

If it helps at all, I'm a body language reader and she is trying to appear confident but her facial expressions did change ever so slightly on certain instances. One of which was when the judge read JJ's full name. But the proof of her narcissistic personality was when the judge mentioned the trial date 6 months away. You could see her thinking about just herself having to stay in jail all that time. 🙄

I started tearing up seeing Kay and the family crying. I can't even imagine going through this. I will keep praying for these families. There are so many hurt people involved. Prior initially wanted the trial to be set on September/October, it was the judge who ruled on the January date.

If evidence has been released I’ve tried to diligently research it. I’ve had the opportunity to speak with some family members & hear their feelings. The good Lord also blessed me with common sense & the ability to see the obvious. There is no ambiguity here, she was involved in a conspiracy to murder multiple people. There is clear evidence. Do I think it was by her own hand? No. I think she’s more of a Manson type. She didn’t want to get her hands dirty so she manipulated others to do it for her. I know what it’s like to loose a family member to a murderer & to learn others conspired to take their lives. My families situation has some similarities to this case, so my heart goes out to those who were victims & victimized by their crimes. I pray daily that justice is obtained for Charles, Tylee, JJ, & all the others who suffer still from the grief & trauma caused by these crimes.

I doubt she has a conscience at this point. Anyone who can cause this much death and destruction has no conscience. She and Chad planned these murders, committed these murders, and tried to escape the consequences of these murders.

When I saw her new booking picture and her hair all back blonde, I wondered how she was able to do that. I wouldn't think you have access to hair dye. I'm sure she asked her court appointed lawyers for make up and a curling iron. I was surprised to see she wasn't in handcuffs. My prayers go out to grandparents. Seeing them cry just broke my heart. They haven't even been able to have a funeral for JJ yet.
I noticed at the mention of the kids, Kay started crying, but that one on trial never even flinched! I have just witnessed straight evil.

Let’s play Devil’s advocate for just a moment. Let’s say Lori is innocent, hands totally clean (WHICH SHE IS NOT), you’d think hear wording like “the murder of Tylee Ryan” would evoke SOME emotion. Being reminded my child was MURDERED and hearing those words would definitely rattle something in me…. ESPECIALLY if I was innocent and being accused of doing the absolute unthinkable to my child.
The lack of emotion is reason # 6072 that she is absolutely guilty and has zero regret or remorse for heinously killing her kids, and is precisely what she wanted.
