@Cardboard Calamity Maybe Kyle just realised that after losing one of her two chicks, the chances of the other making it into adulthood were almost 100% if she just made him raise it like he did for her.
It's called IMPRINTING. Karl Lorenz was doing it with Geese nearly a hundred years ago but its still very impressive.
This man gonna dedicate his whole life to one last boat ride that’s gonna be with a herd of geese above him. Fair play.

Many years ago I was playing the amateur golf tour I was out one morning for some early practice and ran across a late mallard hatchling. Mom had taken the other 12 or so chicks down to the pond for the first swim and this one (I named Bo) was still wet with an abusive male was picking on it. He would not have survived so I took the baby chick "Bo" with me back to the pro shop and made a nest for it in a shoebox. Still living at my parents back then, the "Bo" received 24/7 care. Daily I would take him back to the course with me but "Bo" would not have anything to do with the other ducks. However he would follow me around the course as I played. Once he learned to fly that added a new element to the experience but still would not leave me to join the other ducks. That September I took "Bo" to a friend of mine that lived on the St. Joseph River in Berrien Springs MI. where there were 1000's of ducks. Bo followed him like he did me....as he lived outside on their patio. Daily Bo would swim next to the row boat as they would go fishing. As the seasons changed Bo became a bit more curious about the other duck and swimming closer and closer to them until one day he joined the flock. That was 52 years ago now, thanks for bringing back the memories.

I’m 13 I recused a Canadian goose and like a month ago it flew away it was mean towards my smaller sister but overall he was a really fun companion and I miss him a lot sad to see him go but that’s the way life goes.

I also have a goose who is 16 yrs old. He has no upper beak that I have to feed him 4 times daily so he can survive. And he did. I wish I can feature him here. I called him old goosy goosy.

I rescued a street cat who had been neglected by a neighbour before my cat ran away from her. Covered in fleas, skinny as hell, terrible fur, huge soggy belly that she still has to this day. Nervous of all other living things.
I named her Puddle, and she's much better & happier now. We don't leave each others' sides.

I had a similar experience with an orphaned Canada Goose. Raised it with our domestic geese on our farm. It is incredible how smart and funny they are.

@@jesusisalive3227 they are fun, and sometimes difficult depending on personality. Once we have the land, i will add more geese to our life as we absolutely love them. Behavior improves and is easier to handle if you raise them by hand imo. Pretty Bird is a pet-house-goose, so shell always live inside with us. Its where shes happy and what she knows. We love our crazy goose lol

Another story that brings a tear to my eye. The love for an animal and the love that is returned is one of the greatest gifts you can imagine.
These unusual friendship are so heart warming. For instance, I spread grains and small nuts in my lawn for birds everyday. It's beautiful to wake up to the sweet chirping sounds. A year ago a piegon came around to feed on the grains. I haven't seen pegions in my neighborhood before so it was quite surprising. Anyways, this pegion kept coming everyday. A few days later another pegion came along and I know they were a couple. It always made me giddy seeing these lovebirds. I named the bigger one, which I think is the male, Oscar and the little one Emmy. A few weeks later i had to leave to visit my grandma in another town. I knew the birds would stop coming. I was sad but it couldn't be helped. But to my surprise, when I came back, I woke up to the chirping sounds the very next day. I ran towards my lawn and saw almost all the birds were there, even the pegions! I was so happy to see them, they didn't leave, even when there was no food they waited for me. I immediately fed them and for the first time Emmy came over to me. It was like she was saying that she missed me. After that it took me a few days, but then the pair would let me touch them and they started sitting on my shoulders, sometimes nibbling my earlobe. They are really cute. Soon they started building a nest in my shoe rack which was very unusual because pegions never really build a nest near human settlement. So I removed all the shoes and tried to make it look more greeny and natural. Emmy layed 2 eggs and they hatched into two beautiful babies. Even my dog Angel warmed up to them. And now I let them in my home and it's too funny and adorable to watch them play. It's been a year now since Emmy and Oscar arrived and I couldn't be any more happier. I'll be leaving for college soon but I'm happy that I found them

It’s great seeing others care as well for these creatures. I had one who only had one leg and she was an absolute beauty until sadly she passed but all those years I got with her and her babies was all worth it and I’d do it all over again if I had the chance

808steveA. Geese are actually very loyal to their human caretakers, my grandmother’s were to her. But not to anyone else though, lol. I got nipped by them countless times when I had to feed them for her. Meanwhile she got to pet them and get near the goslings without any problem. I wonder if Jack will make Mike a great grandfather soon 😄?
