They’re all spot 3 point shooters. Bird can shoot from anywhere and make his own shots as well as tougher js. Shooting isn’t limited to 3 pointers or stand still shots so I’d say him and KD are much higher on my list than most.

I can't wait basket ball will return to normal. This game is now one sided. I remember between all the sports if you would see a basketball highlight it was the best. the types of dunks and alley oops crossovers. Now majority of that is gone all you get is a step back 3 or side 3. I love basket ball n will continue to love it. But it was better before he got here n can't wait till he leaves unfortunately that won't happen for a long time 😭

He was a paint player. That's how he F'ed up his knees, is he was going hard in the paint against guys half a foot taller and 50 pounds heavier than him, for the first half of his career. I'd say he was the most unique shooting guard who ever lived. A dunker, a shotblocker, etc. Later in his career he could toss up a 3 every now and then but that's not who he was. I love him so much and I miss him so much. He beat up his body with his playing style so his career feels like it went by in a flash (pun intended) but he will always be our hero here in South Florida.

The biggest mistake people make about Steph is that he always had this kind of range. That's why you go to gyms and see kids "practicing" from 40+. But the truth of the matter is, when he was in college, during his first 5-6 seasons in the league he's 3 point range was very similar to the rest of the league. It wasn't until 2014, the year Dame got shut down in the playoffs when he got trapped at the top of the 3 point line, then came back the next season in 2015 having worked on the deep 3 as a counter to the trapping, that we saw Steph also start to really "work" on that part of his game. In both cases, for Dame and Steph, they were already great 3 point shooters before they decided to extend their range. So don't go out and start practicing from 40. Get your form right from right under the basket first, then move out.

But she is 100% right, to shoot 15 footers is a horrible strategy, this is not the right way to play the game. That's not "simple", you can't replicate this. Even a decently talented Lillard (or Trae right now in the playoffs), sometimes he can go berserk, but most of the time he can't sustain this level of play and that ends up hurting his own team. Only Steph can do it, it's just too unusual how he can handle the ball, pull up from any distance and still hit 40+%. No matter how hard you train, this is about natural talent. Look at Klay, he is a great spot up shooter, crazy efficiency, but he can't replicate Steph because he doesn't have the same handles, speed, the shot creation, etc Same goes for Allen, Reggie, Rice, etc.. to have this combination of handles + shooting, it's unreal really. And I am not a "fan", not at all, I think his numbers are boosted by a weak league with soft rules. Still, his talent is undeniable. The only reason why players are shooting so much it's because of the zone free rules + the defender can't be physical anymore, so players can run circles freely, the defense can't keep up and you end with specialists wide open. Now take these pathetic rules and allow the greatest shooter ever to run free out there? That's Steph, pretty much, the guy is at the right place, right time. This will never happen again.
