Usually with stats like these, “all-time” stats, you call them longevity accomplishments. But that’s not the case here. Steph is so efficient, so consistent, that he reached this height in a relatively short period of time. This isn’t longevity, this is excellence. I know I’m just repeating the narrative when I say Steph changed the game, but I believe Mark Jackson does deserve some credit as well, because he allowed Steph to change the game. We all know in all cultures there are norms that establish how that cultures games will be played. It’s like an unofficial code that dictates what is allowed and what is sacrilege. The way Steph plays would have been considered sacrilege just 2 decades ago. But Mark Jackson had the guts to allow Steph to play his game. Steph had the guts to play his game. They broke standards that took courage to break. Steph could have just as easily been looked at as a chucker and a hot-dog. But Jackson gave Steph the rope to succeed. And Steph went out there and succeeded. It’s amazing. And a great reminder that sometimes it is beneficial when someone doesn’t play by the established norms of the game. It’s ok for unique talents to express those talents uniquely. I love this milestone for many reasons, but it is this reason why I think this is one of the most important milestones in contemporary sports.

Maybe just maybe...ray and Reggie despite being great shooters couldn't take those many 3s because they probably aren't at the same level as curry...casuals also can't seem to understand the difficulty in taking the volume of 3s....it's physically a lot draining than people realize...it's not like steph just comes in and lobs the ball from perimeter...there's a level of conditioning that you need to have that kind of volume and his efficiency never dropped despite the volume...I mean it just amuses me the kind of narratives people create against steph. Don't know any other goat being treated this way.

Curry shot more accurately than those 2 and played 600 less games. Even if they shot more 3s, curry would have still broken them. It is inevitable. You're just an old head who can't let go of the past, grow up.
Here's an IF for you. Imagine if curry wasn't injured in 2018-2020. Imagine if curry didn't have a glass ankle in his rookie years. Imagine that and he would have passed 3000 3s by now.

If Trae Young stays healthy and continues to increase his skill level at shooting, he has a good chance at steph's record somewhere down the line. His current pace is already better than steph' first few years in the league. Remember steph lost some time because of them glass ankles of his. And hopefully in his senior NBA years he won't be revisited by those same glass ankles.

      Steph is gonna Steph
People forget that these are the best 450 players in the world.
By the end of the season Steph will be the only player with 2 seasons of 400 three point shots made.
He averages 5 three pointers made per game. Let that sink in.
He is the only player ever to have more than 50 games of 8 or more three pointers made.
Thats more than the total of the next closet 5 players combined.
Steph is not struggling. Every once in a while he has to show that he is human.
Every time somebody talks about what he isn’t doing . He raises the bar some more.
