I love hot weather but it would be nice to have something in the mid 70s (20s to you) for a break. Although that means winter...

Welcome back Amy! Sorry to hear of you and Marc’s physical challenges. I don’t know how either of you keep up even with the sometimes volunteers. Think back to when the Château was supported by several servants and you and Marc are doing it on your own with minimal help. Corageous!

Amy, spray the spiders with peppermint oil. I did that in my house in Germany and I never saw another one. I sprayed around the windows , doors etc... Wished I had known about this 20 years earlier as they always came in every spring and fall. So happy to see you again.
I use chestnuts around the house..the oil deters them

We tracked Emma's swim here in Australia and were so thrilled when she finished safely. It was very exciting. What a wonderful thing they are doing in Africa. It restores my faith in human nature.

Broken bones in a young person might be a sign of early osteoporosis! I would suggest a bone scan and a checkup with your doctor. Early treatment is relatively inexpensive and beneficial. I fractured my spine in a private airplane crash. Thx for bringing us along. 😊😊😊 John Ken

So good to get a catch up. Mark will have a weakness with those ribs he damaged before, I have the same problem, not pleasant at all. The spiders freak me out too. The weather here in uk is also sunny warm unusually so and at night. No thermals yet. Really missed your vlogs, great more in pipe line.!! WCL

One time my kids left their toys in the middle of the stair case. I came down stairs didn’t see it and I went skiing all the way down the staircase. That hurt. Lol. But love kids!! They aren't cheap, but there are amazing propane incinerating toilets for off grid life these days. Worth a look to expand your bathroom options. :)
Interesting! I’m not sure people would enjoy trekking outdoors at night though. They grumble enough about using the downstairs toilet 😂
They are for indoor use and some don't even need venting. They can also be electric and powered by solar. @@Chroniclesofrosieres

I didn't know about the Facebook and I don't do Instagram (rather it doesn't seem to do me) but I did watch Emma on the timeline. It didn't seem very accurate at the start, it seemed to take a fairly long time to for her boat info to catch up with the swim. It finally did and I was able to follow fairly well even though the time difference was a lot.
Great to see you back Amy, sorry about Mark. He has had his problems this past summer. You look great so I'm hoping your doctor appointments went well and it didn't turn out to be a major source of concern.

Great to hear of progress! It looks like mid-summer there - we've had so much cool weather that fall has started early (in the middle of the US) - heat waves all around us, and we've been the opposite.

I have really cut back on Instagram and FB but I see all you chateau folks use them a lot. Be well, wish I could afford to come and use my many talents to help out. Upholstering is way fun and satisfying after all the pain of trial and error. Love to all.

There is nothing like a great Shared Bath!...LOL I don't know if you have been following Escape to CDL&M but we have added another thousand square feet in the attic, where someone, evidently on TTL said that I have hidden the Picasso Gallery! Well, there is a 30 foot enormous vaulted space and future Cathedral Apartment, and a new staircase to the 5th level of ARIA where no foot has walked in the last 170 years until now (and thousands of square feet of attic space to be built into closets for decorations, linens, etc, as the enormous house desperately needs storage space). So now the house is nineteen thousand square feet! Well is was already larger than the other largest building in town, and they listed as over 19K square feet, so I think the mansion is now over twenty thousand square feet.
