00:32 Intro
Welcome to Marks Mini Cooper S Mk3 built in 1970 and registered in 1971. This Cooper S was last restored in 1997 and featured in Mini World magazine. Unfortunately 23 years down the line and it's looking tired in some areas so Mark has decided to take it off the road for a full restoration which will involve stripping it back to a bare shell, sandblasting, and a respray. Fortunately, the engine has already been restored recently by Swiftune engineering - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Great progress Mark and lovely to see your daughter getting involved. Will be one of the best Coopers on the planet.
Thank you Peter. She's getting involved a bit more, which is nice. I wouldn't say that but i'll try 😅
Looking good Mark. It's great to see your family getting involved as well.
Thank you. I'm hoping Kacey enjoys it enough to want to build her own mini with me. 🙂
Mark you and Kacey done a good job on the roof lining been to see it way to go Kacey
Team work makes the dream work. Great job by you both.
Thank you. it's nice Kacey is interested enough to help and learn. 🙂
@@markdraper7 that is very true. At least you have plenty of cars to keep Kacey busy if she’s up for helping.
On one of your videos I watched I thought I should have offered to assist if ever you need a hand with something as I’m local to you.
Well done! Headliner looks fantastic!
Thank you very much! One less thing to concern myself with once it's finished. There's always something i think i could've done better. 😅
Looks good, always better to have an assistant👍
Thanks James!🙂
Great team work you two 😊❤️👍🏻
Thank you Andrew. 😁
Nice job
Thanks Dean. 🙂
Splendid work. I know installing the headliner and trim isn't easy but you did the right thing in taking your time.
Thank you. Definitely less pressure when not filming! 🙂
Well done Mark. The mistake I made was not letting it rest & while it is not too bad, it’s nowhere near as good as your fitting. The Newton video & instruction sheet didn’t say anything about letting it rest! Fortunately, I hadn’t thrown out my bulldog clips when I retired & decommissioned my home office. I needed an awful lot because I didn’t temporarily for the window & door seals.
Thank you Edward! I've done about 5 of them now over the years so have learnt to leave them to stretch overnight at least. Yes, it's surprising how many you actually need. 😂
Brilliant job Mark.. It's all very tricky and time consuming work with headliner and top dash rail plus screen pillars. Of all the inside upholstery jobs I ever did, I though the top dash rail and screen pillars were the best investment in time and cost. It should get a bit less challenging from now 😅.
Thank you Pete. It was poorly done from factory and /or the last resto and bugged me, so i'm glad i put the time in to perfect it. 😎
A little Friday viewing treat.❤
Your headlining is looking very good. I know how difficult it can be having done one 3 years ago. Unfortunately I have another one to do in a Mk4 this year but I might get my son on the job as he is a bit more bendy than me!
Thanks Graham! Haha, i do struggle a bit with the positions you need to get into! 😅
This is really going to be one of the best Minis
Thank you. I'll try but i'm not sure it'll be perfect, well built maybe. 😅
The roof liner looks good. Nice colour. I also like the fact you've covered down the a-post. Will you be doing the b-post?
Thank you. The A-post was done previously so had to do that, but the B-pillar wasn't so i won't do that.🙂
have you removed the felt pad from inside roof as that's what stops them tilting
There was only the bitumen pad on the roof, but a bit of juggling got them in place and they stayed where they should be after the lining was left to settle. 🙂
Good job! I wanted to ask you a question, do you know what the valve adjustment is on the mini 850? It's the only thing I have left. Thank you very much for your attention❤
0.12" inlet and exhaust
Thank you. I don't have any knowledge on engines unfortunately, but Keith might know a bit about it.

Didn’t see much fitting work on the headlining 👎
Oh it just magically appears does it! What's going on from 02:00 to 05:30? Honestly, you don't have to watch the video do you. It's not like the video is titled "How to fit a headlining"
Sorry Clive, i did say in the video that i didn't film the bits of final fitting so there was less pressure on me to perform. I just wanted to take my time and perfect it. There are old videos on the channel showing how they are fitted if you need help.
Hiya Mark-Cooper S is coming on great. Hope you are paying the Lucy mini me apprentice time and a half. Keep well. Happy Easter.
Shush Dave, i'm not currently paying her, It 's a labour of Love or it should be 😂 I'll give her secret treats for helping so she doesn't expect 😉Happy Easter to you too! 😎
Nice job
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you John. 🙂
