Ran my first half marathon today. It’s not an Ironman but it’s something. Inspired by this Ironman series
He’s like a chill David Goggins.
Haha
He’s the David Goggins Lite TM
I can’t even sit on an airplane for 11 hours without fatiguing
2 different pairs of shoes - i cant even stand a 3 hour flight because i hate to sit still...
11:28 is a great time for an Ironman. I doubt most people appreciate how amazing that time is for someone that weighs 190+ lbs. Congrats!
With only 5/6 months of training aswell
Honestly if it took hin 3 weeks id still be impressed. Im trying to train myself to have the drive and discipline that Nick has. Its getting better but sometimes without realizing it i default back to my laziness. But it will come.
It's just so hard to imagine moving consistently like this for over 11 hours. You really have inspired me.
Keep that drive going 🚀
Seriously! Now I want to try this. I'm not getting any younger.
Well, it’s on you to make it shorter ;)
Jesus man. I wish I had like an ounce of the discipline required to do this. Congrats on the whole thing 👌
Gavin Binding Don’t say something bad about yourself! Work on your discipline! Join a triathlon for next year and do it! Do it man!
you are Irish, am I correct?
Gavin Binding train for a 5k
You do have that discipline in you. Just work on baby steps in training
Disciplined is as much learned as anything else in life. Work on it in your daily life and let it transition to training.
“You wanna go to the bathroom before the race starts.”- How I feel before I leave to go anywhere 🙄😫😢 I feel so proud and blessed to have been apart of this journey with you! Thanks for sharing! ❤️
do a vitals check and show us your blood pressure and heart rate!! i’m a a paramedic, and i always find it interesting how low marathon runners resting heart rate is! love your videos man!
I don’t know if you saw one of his more recent videos, but he said his RHR is 39bpm.😳 I’m jealous of that crazy level of cardiorespiratory fitness
@@joshuachamberlain7266wait mine is 45 but I’m not all that fit 🧐 just started running in November 2023 and running a half marathon next week
Grats Nick! I know your mom would be more than proud! You had me wanting to see everyday your ironman video release throughout these series! Hats off to you soldier!
Damn i wanna see what ur big lifts (especially squat and deadlift) are like after 6 months of biking and running with no weight training for legs
Congrats Nick! It was so exciting to watch you on the tracker and see you exceeding your goal paces. I'm glad the zone 2 training and nutrition goals helped you perform better than your previous marathons/marches. The series has been great and helpful too - I'm going to rewatch these when training for my first full Ironman after I get through the next two years of military schools and certs
I have done triathlon for a years, I would be extremely proud of that time. Congratulations!
I could listen to you talk all day Nick. You motivate me big time man along with the thousands others who follow. Thank you for sharing your journey and your main motivation to crush this race. Much love from Indianapolis 👌🏼 ONE MORE BABY
Congratulations Nick!! I found your channel just as I started prep for an Ironman 70.3. Like you it was my first triathlon of any kind. I watched videos from all the triathlon CZcamsrs but your were my favorite because I was learning at around the same pace as you. It’s an awesome journey. Looking forward to what you have coming next.
Hell yeah man, I'm training for the half Ironman (70.3)! Huge inspiration & motivation Nick!
I started binge-watching your IM FL journey series last night after somehow stumbling across it in the vortex of CZcams, and just wanted to say *thank you* for the incredible amount of work you and your team are putting in for these videos- as the quality (both of cinematography and of content) is phenomenal. Congratulations on the execution of your race plan and for crushing your goals. Looking forward to following your journey as you undertake new challenges!
I hope you see this brother. You truly motivate me to keep going. I'm at my lowest point in life but watching your vids inspire me! And I say this whole heartedly. Because of what I've seen these past progress vids, with your discipline & dedication. I truly, truly, truly believe! you can be the strongest man on earth on the crossfit games. I feel like you would fit that world & it would be a step ahead of the iron man just like what you said you wanted. You're #1 brother! Keep doing you Mr. Bare! God bless & stay safe.
Well done Nick. Your military experience in the U.S.Army helped you with the right mind set to push through the grind. You're a positive and humble person who is driven, and discipline to put in the hard work for the difficult challenges you take on. Can't wait to watch your next challenge Nick, Ranger on buddy!
I’m so impressed on what you do congrats man
I can only imagine the amount of sheer will it took to finish all that...11+ hrs of non stop exercising. I've watched every video leading up to it. Serious motivation! Congrats on a great finish!
Congrats brother!!! Great time!! Welcome to the club. Only bigger things to come!!!!! Can’t wait to see what’s next. Followed you all the way!!!
That was sooo AWESOME - loved every episode but the race one - just moved me!!
Thank you for sharing!!
This is by far my favorite series on CZcams. Awesome job man and thanks for sharing your passion with us!
This was an awesome series, it showed discipline, dedication, and having fun while doing it all. You not only accomplished this goal, you absolutely destroyed it. Im doing the Spartan trifecta next year, cant wait. Maybe I can train up for the ironman one day. Cant wait for whats next to come, thanks for your content!
Congratulations Nick! I just found your CZcams channel! You are one well put together person, physically and mentally! Thank you for your military service!
Well done! It has been awesome following you during this journey. It was amazing and very insightful, congrats!!
I love the fact that there's already another challenge lined up. Literally before the whole ironman event was even recapped you already have something else planned and that's exactly why I'm a such a huge fan of this channel. Inspiration factor is off the charts!
Congrats man, great work! Been watching you for a while now!
Best CZcams series! Congrats Nick!!! Super inspiring👏🔥
Congrats bud! I really appreciate this break down. I'm planning my first Ironman for November 2020.
Impressive, sir. Since the Ironman has caused you to slim down, your face looks very young and your demeanor seems so zen! Training for the Houston marathon currently, coming from a weightlifting background and 312 lbs.
Current weight is 257 and running my 15 mile long distance this week. Your greens and InFocus are part of my training.
Hope to run in to you some day out there.
Really inspirational, I am only training for half marathon as of today but it shows that you can do anything with training and mindset. Thank you for sharing the journey.
Great work Nick! Amazing to watch the whole process. Brilliant time too! Whats next, Marathon De Sables?!
Awesome series Nick! Inspired me to do a 70.3 next year. Thanks for all the inspiration and please keep going at it. Cheers
So inspiring to watch your journey. Cant wait to see whats next
Nick, you are so awesome and inspiring. Congrats on the great time!! Role model right here. Keep it up man.
Thanks for sharing Nick! I Watched your videos while I was training for my first ironman. They helped motivate me though the season. I also did the FL ironman. It was also cool to see you a couple times on the run.
Nice to meet you last weekend at gear check in! Super impressed by your time and performance for your first ever TRI. I think we all lucked out with the weather conditions on race day. I ended up with a PR of 10:36.
Thanks for the motivation! I finished my full marathon yesterday! I really had to dig deep on mile 22 through 24 but I finish strong 💪🏼
Really enjoyed this prep series!! Thank you for the effort and for sharing this with us!!! Wish you all the best!!!
Simply finishing an Ironman is a huge accomplishment. I live in PC and was happy to be there rooting for you and all the other competitors.
Awesome bro. I’m a 230 lb gym rat and I’m just about to start the regimented training for Ironman Australia in May 2020. Been watching all your vids. Massive props and I can’t wait to embrace the suck as well!
Samuel Heath do 80 % of your training on the bike at aerobic pace over hills. You’ll be ready for port Mac
Best of luck on your upcoming IRONMAN! 🏊♀️🚲🏃♀️
How’d it go bro?
As someone who's looking to eventually do an Ironman and having never done a triathlon, this is SUPER helpful man. Great info 👍
Thank you for sharing this Nick. Can't wait for your next triathlon event to see how well you do. Also, thanks for the tips in nutrition during the event.
Way to go Ranger hell of of a job. I actually started following this series a couple of weeks ago.
Killer series dude. Good job on the race, prep and series 👍🏼
I have finished Half Ironman and kinda understand how hard is full IronMan and on top of that you had excellent time! Mad respect to you!
So proud of you, Nick
You are a beast!!!
Good stuff man! You've come along way in your training and performances.
Incredible race, Nick! That's a heck of a debut Ironman.
Congrats and thanks for the recap. Inspiration for sure.
Congrats on the series! It was awesome to watch and your mom would be so proud! I bet the next one is a Ultra Triathlon!
Well done Nick. Great update. All the best for your next run.
Awesome mate thanks for the journey full of information and inspiration! Am training to do my first half ironman in spring, and a full one in 2021! Embrace the suck!
Following Nick Bare since Ranger school not only on this IM prep. Really amazing!
Nick bare. The universal athlete. Big time congrats on the Ironman and great job doing it. You got me hooked on the kerrygolds Irish butter on the English muffin! Can’t wait to see what’s next. Thanks for inspiring me to run again!
Congratulations man!!! That’s amazing!!
I had a blast with your vids, sad to see it come to an end. You did freaking awesome. Good for you glad it was a good experience..
Congrats on your achievement. I remember my first Iron man and how much I learned from it. You are truly an inspiration! But I hope you are not planning on climbing Everest next.
Congrats mate, most people start with sprint triathlon, but what you did was crazy, big kudos to you.
Congrats man real inspiration keep it up love the videos!
Hey man I have been in and out of seeing you prep for this congrats on completing your goal.
Impressive time for first time Ironman. Great job
Amazing Nick I wish I had that kind of mindset everyday!
Hey man, congrats on the amazing time in the ironman! By the way, when is going to be the anouncment of the winner of the Garmin watch??
Congrats on the Ironman! Getting a Boston qualifying time then running Boston sub 3 hours would be a big achievement coming from your strength background. It would be a huge challenge but you definitely have the mental strength to take it on.
Congratulations 🍾 Ironman. Always a blessing to see hard work rewarded. Look forward to the next challenge. When is the wedding? Be blessed and be a blessing.
Can’t wait to follow you through what ever challenge is next 👏
Loved this series.... Thanks nick
I finished Ironman Arizona 2 weeks after, also my first. During prep, I kept an eye on you and used you as my training partner. Great job, Sir.
Fellow Vet - Boyd
I am looking to do Ironman AZ in 2021. What did you think about the course? Any tips?
congrats nick
Nick this was a great video series. I can not wait for your next one. Just had strong reds and strong greens for the first time this morning.
Thank You Nick - this was inspiring.
Great series. Sub'd.
Your journey was fun to watch.
I wanna do one now cause of you lol
Do it
You’re my fave CZcamsr ever
Nice bro. I did a 50km ironman thru our army.
It's a 32km run w/ 40lb rucksack
5km portage (walking a 30lb canoe over your head) 5km lol
8km canoe
and another 8km run at the end.
Fucking unreal, when you get out of the canoe, and you can't walk. . .
As a light infantryman soldier I did about 3 months of prep (while working)
And I crushed it in 7 hours 06 mins.
A great experience. . . but the grind is unreal!!!
If anyone is thinking about doing anything like this, I really recommend it, but also don't put a limit / time on yourself.
Because you need to just 'do it' to get experience.
Cause now, I know my weaknesses and where / what to train more. In anycase everyone should do it once in your life!! And you don't need to look like Nick bare to crush it!!
I had like a 30 year old army vet destroy me and he had a dad body gut, cause his mental fortitude was immense. I crushed him at the ruck, but he snuck up on the portage (LOL)
Just embrace the suck and do it!!
Смотрел с самого начала подготовки, красавчик
I love how you prioritize the nutrition! So many people forget about how important this is. It's funny how you're talking about the coca cola during the run.. coca cola was the ONLY thing my dad could get in his system during his runs in all the ironmans he did
Haven’t commented in awhile, awesome job Nick!
Wow he’s a beast. Doing something for 11 hours like that must’ve been so challenging💪🏻
Dont limit yourself bud
I'm nearly 32 and in the best shape of my life. I could see myself doing something like this in the future ;)
92luisrod lol fucking boot
It takes training, and starts with the first steps. Just get there, join a group, and workout.
Yeah! Must be nice.
Impressive !!💪💪
Very funny and interesting to follow your journey.
Greetings from Sweden
Definitely inspiring. Can't wait to do my first ironman
Usually comment before I watch the video cause all Nick's content is good so Idk about anyone else but nick I appreciate your sweet edits and transitions and Happy veterans Day, thank you for your service!
Love you Nick. Inspire me every damn vid.
Next goal. “I’m going to handstand walk across the Great Wall of China”
I feel like I’m going through a break up right now lol I have been so invested for the last couple months... great job Nick RLTW
Proud of you brother good stuff.
sick time. was waiting for this post. I am doing my first full IM next summer
Congrats man! Shoutout out to you!!!
Congratulations Nick. It was great to watch you during your prep. Embrace the Suck!!
I cant even drive for that long sitting in a comfortable car for that long but huge congrats nick and happy veterans day.
Inspiring AF 🤙🏽
Inspiring as always 👌🏼 plenty of challenges to think on for the future, ultra marathon maybe? MOAB240, WesternStates100, UTMB?
Inspiring ! well done.
Nick's going to hike the Appalachian trail next
Huge inspiration bro congrats!
Congrats on successfully Embracing the Suck and becoming an IRONMAN!!! 💪👍🎉🎉🎉
Hope someday you'll do a Spartan Race or Tuff Mudder Nick.
Dude. 50 mile run and a ultra man. Would love to see you train and smash these out while still being a big jacked guy.
Massively inspirational to see someone who can do it all and you make me want to do marathons and triathlons.
It’s crazy how far your progress has been
