    I enjoy and appreciate your videos. I owned a 2023 HD Streetbob and still own a 2023 HD Breakout. But the Streetbob was my very first HD ever. I loved it, and it was an amazing motorcycle. But after a few months with the Streetbob (and because I've owned dozens of sport bikes) I wanted to upgrade to the Low Rider S. It was mostly for the 5 gallon gas tank and 117 motor. I traded it my Streetbob for a 2024 Low Rider S last month. For some strange reason, although the Low Rider S is the superior bike, I felt like the Streetbob was a lot more fun to ride; more simple and more "heart" if that makes any sense. Perhaps it was the look, or the mini-apes, or how quick and nimble it was. But I still feel like it was a good trade. To any potential buyers out there in the market for a Streetbob or Low Rider S, I recommend the Street Bob for leisure and city-riding, and the Low Rider S for longer rides.

    I own a street bob and I agree that the “out of the box” features are better on the LRS than the street bob but I disagree with customization. I’d say the SB is more of a blank canvas than the LRS for customization.

    • @cisa1622
      @cisa1622 Před 2 lety +6

      SB is easier to customise- the longer cable make customisation easy( reduce cost). The smaller tank + smaller fenders and leaner looks make it look great and younger( the mag wheels is a good change- life is easier). I sometimes feel LR looks like dad bike( bulky). The shock on new LR 2022 is available in the catalogue for all softail model ( anyway who buys Harley crap shocks for softails or touring). The gauges in street bob is cleaner. The tank with just the fuel cap SB is again cleaner looking. The rake if street bob is more leanings toward highway stability + the lighter weight and front end makes it nimble. The dual disc is and inverted forks is missing and LR 2020 is having an advantage( even more with 117- like if you want more power) . From value for money perspective definitely SB wins. Marvel kid your bike looks good( maybe you try the SW MOTECH saddle bags with SLC quick release mount- just a thought). if I ever buy a low rider S I will chop those rear fenders ( tail end) parallel to stock line under the blinkers - replace the rear section lights with something like beam shaped integrated turn lights + brake lights.

    Love the LRS, just don't love the price. For me, the Street Bob was the better choice to get the build I wanted. I'm in Texas and never heard the term Club Style before, but that's the direction I went. The only two things I'm still working on is the 124" upgrade and 5 gallon conversion with dual gauges. Winter project, because I can't miss a week+ riding waiting on the engine and paint.

Got money from my brother’s estate after he took his own life 2 years ago on the 31st of January. I know he’d have loved the bike and I’d give it all back instantly to have him back.

      I wish it had a 5-gallon tank too. Now that they got rid of the regular Low Rider, the Softail Slim, & the Sport Glide, there are fewer bikes in that category that have 5-gallon tanks...and they're all $20K after dealer fees & taxes :(

  • @rob7105
    @rob7105 Před 2 lety +23

    I think the street bob is a better looking bike but the 117, inverted forks, dual disc's and bigger fuel tank I get why the preference goes to the lowrider. Also the wheels on the streetbob are still a bit questionable they might grow on me over time.

    Better mag wheels, inverted forks, 117 motor, 5gal tank, longer shock, full rear fender, 180 rear tire. The low rider s has nice upgrades.
    The street bob is nice but needs a 13” shock. It’s way too low. Real FXR / old school harley vibes though. Would probably be a ripper with a 13-13.5” shock.

    Low Rider S all the way. Probably one of the coolest looking Harleys ever. My black '23 looks like my '79 FXEF. Street Boob does't cut it. Cheap suspension, single front disc, small tank, 114, goofy wheels. I'll ride my Z900 RS first.

  • @drainmonkeys385
    @drainmonkeys385 Před rokem +1

    I’ve got both… But honestly. If you can’t afford or can barley afford the lowrider…. Just go with the street Bob.. get a fairing. Swap out the rear shock and you’ll be feeling better than the lowrider as far as suspension goes.. and you’ll have money left over for other aftermarket parts… throw on some Vance and Hines grenades or tab zombies and you’ll have a true Harley

  • @marathonrefrigeration9593

    I have a 2022 Lowrider S. At 5'6" with a 29" inseam I can flat foot the bike but the reach to the handlebars was a stretch. I opted for 12" mini apes from Dominator and it put the bars in a comfortable position for me.
    For a stock bike the M8 117 is a beast. From stop to about 3,800 rpm it pulls and pulls. In 5th gear at 70mph the engine is smoothly humming and you don't feel the need to put it in 6th. Twist the throttle to pass someone and you're at 85-90 in a couple of seconds.
    I'm sure touring bikes are better but the suspension is robust and I've never been jolted by a bump in the road. A couple of hours in the saddle doesn't leave you butthurt.
    If you're a solo rider with no need to carry more that you can comfortably put in a backpack it's a great bike.

    Nice comparison, I choose my Lowrider mostly due to the size of the tank... 5 gallons to go the distance and keep up with anyone on a bagger I ride with, My first bike had a 3 gallon tank and refueling every 100ish miles was tedious whenever I wanted to go chase the horizon.
    Love your Styled Lowrider and can't wait to have the spare funds to upgrade mine to the one I dream of as I browse the parts catalogues and youtube channels full of amazing options.

    The dual disc compared to single is a marginal difference if any. Inverted forks become trivial as you would upgrade your suspension. The FXBBS is much easier to modify and comparatively more aftermarket options available. Buying 1st gen 117 model is in FXRLS questionable. Can build 131 on the lightest chassis. Better bang for your buck in the end.

    I have a Street Bob and it's a WAY better canvas than the Low Rider S, because it's cheaper and the parts are more applicable than the LRS's parts-the tank, for example, gets more aftermarket love despite being smaller! I've swapped out very little besides the suspension, but I get a good price whenever I list something... Also, with the Fox shock and forks, it's a fucking sweet ride! You don't have to touch the engine, either, it makes plenty of power and enough noise in stock form... But it opened up QUICK off just an intake and exhaust!

    Too many electronics. Put engine guards on those beauties.

      LOL there are like no electronic features on these (and there should be for what they're charging).

      Check out the 2021 models. Same thing but they come with spoked wheels vs the 2022 models wheels.

      There’s plenty of videos of me riding this bike ….. they actually lend me bike to take home not just ride them around the corner and return them 😉

    2 into 2 is WAY better than the 2 into 1 into “2” like the touring bikes have. That second pipe is a fake ass pipe and wastes space, weight and money. At least these are true double exhausts.

    Bout butt ugly bikes. What you do when the engine paint starts to peel?
    Polished aluminum and chrome is the only way to go. Nothing personal. Good walk-around and video, though..
