Amazing have far you've come- your old vids were so awkward with the weird music😂😂
I know. The old ones are cringey
You got the Corona early mate.
You got a bang on the head at birth
You all probably dont give a shit but does someone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account?
I was stupid lost the login password. I would love any assistance you can offer me.

Definitely CV19. I am in the US in New Jersey. My wife was sick around the New Year to mid January 2020. Doctors were all masked up, said she had the flu. My wife looked dark and sunked into the living room chair. I honestly told her I thought she died a couple times when I went to the drug store for more medication. In March of 2020, two months later, CV19 was identified and people in New York and my state were dropping like flies. Glad you made it through champ.

The knob for the MMI is where it is because you've got the base system. It is located down by the gearshift if you have the upgraded MMI.
I will always been a fan of Audi A4's in general and mostly automatic and a worthy alternative to the BMW 3 series and Mercedes Benz C-Class.
Loving your reviews, thanks for sharing your thoughts
Thank you :)
Great and unbiased review, keep up the good work
Thanks for another excellent review! Get well soon! Yes, it’s a great colour, almost like my Pacific Blue Jaguar S-Type. If you hate diesels you’ll hopefully be converted by driving a late model 530d BMW or a 3.0d Jaguar XF, both lovely, fast and quiet long distance cars. You’re right about the CVT-box, it’s crap, and I’m amazed to find it in an Audi, or any German car for that matter. The S-tronic and DSG (VW) are superior in comparison.
I have one of these, 62 plate tdi s line qattro, and still enjoy the driving experience and excellent build quality. It was the colour that grabbed my attention, but the spec is right up there. I have the manual box which I prefer.
Up until November 2018, I had a manual Audi A4 Black Edition Plus. It was a cracking car. Sadly, I had to sell it because of a house purchase. I loved the Audi, and if I can afford to have another in the future I wouldn’t hesitate. I had mine mapped from 177bhp to 215bhp and 380Nm torque to 480Nm. Put some decent rubber on the front wheels and it helps restrict the torque steer. Loved my A4 though; was very sad to see it go.
Keep on making the videos. Really like the honest opinions in each review.
Thank you! Great choice of car :)
Thanks. Replaced it with a Corsa Nurburgring, which has been nothing but a hassle. It’s spent almost as much time in the garage being repaired, as it has on the road! Thank goodness for a highly comprehensive warranty! Live and learn 🤣
They're not very well built. I've had loads of issues over the years with them
Yeah, I’m finding out the tough way!
Thanks for all these nice videos, I really enjoy them. I would love to see a review of the S4 B8.5 model if you happen to get one ;)
I picked up the 2 litre petrol, Quattro, s-line with DSG, sat-nav, keyless entry etc, nearly two years ago and still love everything about it accept the fuel economy under hard driving. It’s definitely worth the couple of extra bucks.
Got the same get a stage 1 remap if you want to love it some more😉
Hey, I see that this is 3 years old comment, but can you share what was your fuel consumption when driving normal and when pushing the 2.0 petrol? I guess you bo longer have the car, but if you remember it would be nice to share
Great review. Keep them coming !!
Jonathan Barber Cheers 😉
I had this b8 shape when they first come out in 2008. Although you have the facelift version here. The MMI audio buttons I remember were down by the gearstick if you went for the MMI High that came with the sat nav. Anything basic and they put them in front of the gear change for some reason. I had the 160 bhp 1.8t and that also had the torque steer issue. I’ve got a b9 avant black edition now.
Yeah its annoying. I've had higher spec models and the controls are easier to reach. The B9 is lovely. This particular A4 changed my opinion on Audi to be honest, I'm impressed
Got a b9 sline with 19s on it my first a4 since the first gen that i had as a boy at 19. The wheels feel strange in corners everything else about it is superior to the xe portfolio i just got rid of bar the handling its just vague scrabbly and i cant drive it as smoothly in bends. Its got 245s on it too. Agree on the box the 40tdi just does not feel as fast as the xe did despite repeatedly being quoted as faster. Its a hell and i mean a hell of a lot quieter though engine noise wise.
You said that there are no people buy diesel cars because they like them, i for one know at least 50 diesel owners who bought them because they like them, we like the way that engine pulls at relatively low revs, especially the ones from 3L upwards.
True. I have a 4.4TDV8 Range Rover and its the best engine option for that car
The controls being on the dash only is just down to the spec of the Multimedia system. The cheaper entertainment packs don’t have the controls near the gear selector. It was like that way back in 2008/09 when the new Audi A4 (for the time) came out.
I had one . As new the interior trim needed me to finish fitting it
Your reviews are the best mate 👍
Apologies for the horrendous royalty-free music at the start of the early ones
Good vid, would be good to see more of the car though.
Im totally with you on the whole diesel thing, thankfully ive never owned one and never will!
I bought an old v8 Mercedes two years ago, love the sound and torque of it, also been perfectly reliable.
Love the channel and look forward to more!
Thank you!! :)
15 mpg
I've never driven with my knees, must give it a try.
Your videos are so much better these days.😊
My son's friend was just bought one of these in the 2 liter gas version, a 2013 Quattro.. Beautiful car but was blowing though a quart of oil every 200 miles. Audi was insisted nothing was wrong until pressed hard. Apparently a known issue with the 2 liter of that generation. Should have been a massive recall. Luckily , though it's a used car with 90k miles, Audi is putting in new Pistons.
Yes thats right. The petrols are oil burners
Another nice video. Should try the old RS5 sometime. Incredible machine.
Thanks! I've never driven one, but I would love one :)
Have they improved the leg room in the back seat? What's your take on the Passat as a "rival" ?
I'm from Manchester, but I've been watching plenty of your reviews here in Australia. I have to say mate, you're definitely not your usual self in the video, understandably as you're on the back end of your bug.
I think your reviews are very detailed, honest and fair. Keep em coming. Cheers.
Damian Lockett Cheers! This was a very old video to be fair
Hi mate love the videos can you do camparison between bmw 5 series and benz e class. Keep up the class work mate
Came out of my company lease scheme with one of these ,they just never make you feel like it’s anything special ,you would never think to go for a drive because it was an enjoyable experience, sure the S/RS4 would be a different car...totally agree about the ergonomics though you never need too read the manual buttons are kinda where you expect them to be...
I have a 320d BMW , first diesel i've owned, had it 2 months just getting used to it, i thought the fuel gauge had broke, never uses fuel so the return is great, hard ride because of the run flats, i traded a VW Scirocco in to get it, that was giving me a bad back, or it could just be may age !
Some people don’t need to go 200mpj to have fun. Some of us enjoy sticking to the speed limit at all times!
No one enjoys sticking to the speed limit..
@@sv.motorsports I enjoy sticking to the speed limit on gta sometimes, stopping for red lights and such 🤣🤣
MPH vs MPG
I have had a 2008 Passat with the 200+ H.P. 4cl. Tiptronic in the States that felt like some Audi's I drove except the Audi's did handle better in turns with the quattro. I feel the Bimmers are a little more engaging to drive but the Audi seemed a little more substantial as a cruiser and more livable to drive daily. It all comes down to personal choice. Good review.
Lovely colour 😍
Still have this car and love it
Just to say this car isn't the black edition
Its called the sport plus package
Or sport plus edition
Or competition package
Nice video.
Have you ever driven a car that had no rattles at all? And if yes which car was it?
valicourt golf 7 gtd assuming the engine rattle dont count!! The best all round vehicle it was specced up mind adaptive cruise speed sign warnings keyless entry etc. Interior made from granite superb seats average enough space and a mini estate seats folded flat, id say its better made inside surface for surface generally than my new b9 sline a4. Even the door thunks are on a par. Exceptionally well rounded vehicle. Miss that!
I’ve bought a 2012 Audi A4 allroad tdi and that is lacking in the options but it amazed me when we had the snow it was very sure footed especially round Buxton it was nearly as good as my Range Rover.
The new Allroads are great. I'd have one too. With decent tyres that won't get stuck on the roads :)
High Peak Autos bought a set of Michelin‘s winter tyres and they was very impressive, I,ve been stuck watching your videos for the last 3 hours loved your Range Rover full fat video which what got me to subscribed to your channel very very good channel and good information on the cars please could you do one on a Range Rover L405 please which is what I’m looking for soon many thanks Ian.

High Peak Autos brilliant looking forward to seeing that take care, ian
I didn’t buy a diesel to save money i just liked the look of the car and it happened to be a diesel. I’ve got the Audi A4 b8 s line black edition in grey
Opinion on the Audi A5 coupe from the same period ? As a daily driver
Id only buy the diesel, mine pushes 370bhp and returns 34mpg in a 4x4, plus the reliability per the petrol equivalent is by far better, on my car
Just bought a 53K mile 2013 A4 B8.5 (facelift) S-Line 3.0 V6 Quattro TDi . . . . . and, i love it
The punch it has in its 3rd gear sport mode, is mighty impressive (and that's from a 'biker' too)
500Nm of torque !!
The tech is more than adequate for an 'oldie' like me, and the fuel costs, insurance, tax and running costs are impressively low
Love it, Love It, LOVE IT 1
I keep my vehicles for a long time - so I'm keen to see how this vehicle proves itself over the years
I'll report again in 2035 !
Great test BTW, Thank You !
How much did you pay? The 3.0 V6 versions seems to be very expensive
You gonna be happy with any audi, few repairs here and there are worth for the premium comfort and security you are getting. I drove many cars but last 2 were Audis, best car ever
had many cars over the years never a brand new anyhow had a 2003 tiptronic avant was clocked, lots of electric issues and was a lovely auto to drive , great sound system and aircon. expensive to fix. was a 1.9 tdi
I must be just lucky as I've had no faults on my mondeo 2.2tdci mk4 and I've just clocked 240000 miles, but I still would of preferred a petrol if I could find one in the spec I got on my diesel
Hi Matt used to own a Audi 1.9 Diesel not much I know it was midnight blue alloy wheels tinted Windows and green front head lights loved the car like your review Phil in Cornwall
Cheers Phil. I always liked the 1.9's
yes thanks heard it 👍🏽
Had one of these for years, omg I hated the flat bottom steering wheel as it was nearly impossible to steer, used to have to go on my tippy toes to move the wheel with my knees!!!
Yes thats right. Its all for the design, less about the practicality
Again enjoyed. Not my choice of car but entertaining. Cheers
Thanks! Its not normally my cup of tea either, but I did like this one
Revisiting this review as seriously looking at purchasing an Audi A4 automatic I’ve had my 2002 mk4 golf for years nearly 6 years so time for a newer car 😏
I really like that colour!
I am finding myself more into Audis... They are not as "shouty" as a BMW or Mercedes, they are like Volvo, a bit more discrete.
I am not that sure on 2 things, that slightly shiny look on the steering wheel and the black lining on the roof... Doesn't the car look a bit too dark and gloomy with that? I always enjoyed the lighter colours.
As for diesels, well I love the economy you get from one but I also love the extra torque and the low reving engine! It is great on motorways so I might buy one even if it was not more economical.
A gasoline car can go higher in the rev range but let's be honest, to have that extra adrenaline from it, you would need at least a Honda car and even that can't go to motorcycle territory and that is where the gasoline magic happens.
Hey I drive a golf. Got a GTD 16 reg had it 2 years now in carbon grey. Looking to go back to petrol similar size car, want 300 ish brake horse got bout 20k what would you go for ?
Audi a4 also has the scroll wheel of the infotainment on the center console but thats the higher spec with Audi MMI audio
The one you have on the video is Audi concert or symphony and is the lower audio spec
The reason why you don't have the MMI controls near the gearbox is because whoever bought it cheaped out by opting for the MMI 3G low. If you had an MMI 3G high then the controls would be below and feel more upmarket and posh.
Loved the Audi of old but A4 in Ireland are crazy money and it seems every young man or woman has one here. S-line is must as standard cars are so bland and bare. A8 is probably only Audi I'd buy. CVT box in any car is dreadful. Definitely man flu. Great work.
Totally agree
Went a bit partridge there at one point. “I like wine, despite what I just said earlier”
Thats a snazzy bouquet
Could be my next purchase
Does it have the eco stop start
I h8 that
They're great cars. I think you can turn off the start/stop
Jag XF or Audi A4 Black Edition?
Why do so many a4 & a5s of this year and a bit older mainly CVT?
Can you find and test review one with the 3.0L TDI Quattro with a manual please? Bullet proof engine, enough torque to tear up tarmac and power/grip that makes your tonsils hurt.
I did love my 2.0 tdi in my old A3, but as you rightly mentioned, soul destroying when the turbo went at 130k. 3 times....
I've got a 3.0TDI Quattro manual in stock at the moment
Continuously Variable Transmission, a kind of opposite of how it sounds. I never liked these gearboxes , feels like you are overrevving in neutral. . However Audi have done a great job in this car and the gearbox. There's lots of them out there now. That's nice one that you have and the Diamond Cut alloys set it off. It's a pity that it doesn't have Nav or Camera. A great buy for someone
The Multitronic gear box was advertised on TV with an Elvis figure dangling from the interior mirror not moving when the car changed gear because it had no gears! I had an A6 with the same box and to make the drive a bit more exciting, I always used the ‘manual’ mode. Lovely touring car though.
I know it’s an old video but that ‘music’ sounded like I was on hold to some Company and I expected to hear ‘your call is important to us’. I’m glad you decided to ditch it.
Had a 2010 B8 2.0TDI manual a4, was brilliant to drive but had constant problems when the car was 7-9 years old, egr valve, steering shaft, electronic handbrake failed twice, starter motor failed also, this was all despite a full audi service history, would not recommend buying one.
Another great review. Who does your music? It’s great
This was an old video. I ditched the royalty free music

Its just how CVT's are
How is Audi A4 black edition 2.0 litr 2015 automatic pless let me now
Is the gearbox a cvt unit?
Test drove one last week, 177 manual. Was a nice enough car but felt kinda "average", nothing special. Also felt cramped somehow, which surprised me considering its a good bit bigger than my current car, which doesn't feel cramped.
What’s with the tubular bells musac?
We have same car with manual gearbox been faultless for 3 years
That’s the biggest let down with these cars, fwd. I have a 262bhp 2.0tfsi A4 s line, but no point in that power as it just torque steers. Yes it handles in the corners, but there’s so much lost potential.
Great little video. One point only... folk do not all buy diesels to save money. My missus drives a Golf GTI mark 7 manual which has a magic little petrol engine. I drive a diesel Boxer Van, which is great. Driving a large petrol van is very frustrating .... nothing about money..... they just can’t pull loads in the gear you want.
You're right. Point taken
i prefer to drive diesels over petrol. In a petrol you have to rev high to get maximum BHP in a diesel you have lots of torque and power exactly when you need it lower speeds . i cant drive to the shop while red lining my petrol car to get maximum power , that would just be embarrassing. In the diesel ill have torque, power at lower speeds. Not everyone will agree or feel the same but works for me
Indeed not all people buy diesel to save money. Buying a second hand car is not a purchase one can freely spec. When I was looking for a vw passat estate petrol engine only few were available in Spain vs hundreds of diesel ones..
Really enjoy your videos, keep up the good work :)
I found the Audi seats were very uncomfortable as a reps car I felt like I couldn’t travel too far until it started to ache..
Apparently if, like me, you don’t like these flat bottomed steering wheels, get one with a heated wheel. Dealer told me heated wheels are all round, some problem getting it to work on the flat bottomed.
Peter Leighton Ah I didn’t know that
What alloys are them
My nabour has one 2ltr diesel looks nice but i like to push cars abit so id rather have a 3 series
Get well soon
Decent cars these
I got a diesel for the torque. Its not just the fuel economy
Thats true
Same even better once remapped when it comes to mpg and power
What do you do with torque?
How can you check.which gearbox the car has cvt , s tronic , multi tronic pls respone
The CVT is on front drive models only. S-tronic (dsg) on S3, and S4, S5, and RS models, the A4's 09-13+ use 6 speed, and 8 speed auto on model year 12 and up, and in 2017 they moved to a 7 speed DCT.
i would use the paddle-shifters you’re meant to use...
Diesel reliability is great if you do a lot of long runs.
OMG AUDI'S ARE SO PRETTY 😍😍😍😍
The CVT is apparently, despised by Audi owners/buyers
Personally, I got chin rash, tonguing my granny at Christmas but luckily never passed on a communicable disease. Very considerate. Unlike Audi interiors which have all the charm of a motorbike side car from 1960. You see someone in one, probably holding a small dog with goggles and it looks cool until it's your turn to get in one. It's like winning a ticket to a Rick Astley concert; happy you won but not something you brag about cos you spend your energy pretending you took advantage of the weekend to make prosthetic legs from recycled lawnmower parts for worm infested kids in Biafra.
Audi should be aware of this but don't bother cos German management would rather spend an entire Tuesday afternoon discussing the pantone shade of a 5 amp fuse.
Any reason why you have changed your intro?
A 2015 model with a cvt?? Thought DSG would be the only auto option nowadays
Was meant to buy one but where they put the button on the dash just put me off I rather it in the middle
Covid 19!! Before it was famous 🤣
You saw it here first!
I have one of this
I have 2013 A4 S-line 2.0T in Daytona Gray and Alcantara suede seats which are great in the summer. Had A4 since 1997 model. This car is actually better than current version in terms of quality. Miss the under seat storage my 2006 had though. Current model does not have that flat bottom steering wheel which is a must have for me now. Living in Canada I have to say that dealership service is overpriced here and poor quality. Had issues with automatic side mirror adjustment that they addressed several times and finally my warranty ran out and just have to adjust it manually (refuse to pay 1200$ plus labour for new mirror). Everytime I am ready to change from A4 to BMW or other competitor I go back to Audi as they always offer the best value for quality. Just have to choose the right balance of options. All black interior has always been my favorite, especially with the black roof liner on this version. Start button tends to chip with age. OEM summer tires sucked and decided to use All season Michelins instead which saved some money and time twice a year. I might actually get the Allroad s-line version next time.
Do they offer the S line in North America now? A while ago they didn't do it (in the USA anyway). The new A4 Allroad is a great looking car, good choice
@@HighPeakAutos I think they usually offer S-line a bit after the initial release of a new model.
I know this comment is borderline ancient, so I'm not expecting a response, but I bought myself a 2013 A4 Black Edition (manual gearbox and petrol) and you seem to know what you're on about.
The passenger side door won't open from the outside. Everything else will, quite happily. It also opens from the inside. Aside from that, I'm not having any issues. I'm preparing for the shit to hit the fan though, because it inevitably will. What else do you recommend I watch out for?
@curtisevans8413 might have something to do with the line inside that opens the door. Likely you will have to open it up and see. Should not be difficult to fix. Always have a bit of extra oil in the trunk and remember to keep it closed lol don't ask why. The car burns oil between changes.
@@925inder2 Will do, thanks. Much appreciated
how much did this go for in the end ?
£17k if I remember rightly
I think The vag pd tdi engine is the best diesel ever produced.
I bought a diesal because I need the extra torque for the seven seater
Why did you buy an Audi without Quattro?
Some people buy diesels for the torque to tow and stronger engine to last.
Have Audy fixed the poor leg room in the back already...?
Must admit you've killed my buzz a bit as this is the one I was really thinking of getting but Estate
Might just get a Mountain bike now
Twat on a bike looking at all the bellends in Audi's
Thank God I have the 8 speed
CVT's are the devils work, I loathe them. We have such good gearboxes now, WHY DOES CVT exist?

My thoughts on Audis and the people that drive them, exactly!
I had one of these, 2008-2010 B8, 2.0 TFSI, was actually a nice car, very fast, yet surprisingly light on fuel, but there were issues, Had it for 4 years back then and replaced the control arms 3 times at 2000 pounds a pop ( At Audi) ended up writing it off by hitting a truck on the freeway...not 1 airbag deployed! So i would not buy one again. Had the Q3 2.0TFSI as well and I much preferred that than the A4, but wife didn’t want the Audi, she likes her Freelander2, so sold the Q3 and made a grand profit lol
Thats not good. I've never been a big fan, so I've never done that many miles in one to see what they're like to live with
