      in our part of my country, the more superstitious brides tend to not wear their wedding dresses before the wedding. it's bad luck as the elders would say. so the dress makers must really make sure it fits.

    This looks like a badly put together Nigerian 🇳🇬 eastern/rivers/Niger delta traditional outfit, hope she was able to get it fixed?
    I understand that many Nigerians are out there working their azz off and taking care of business, so they send their measurements home to home tailors and this probably arrived late that’s why she was trying it out a day before the occasion because she probably got it that day, best wishes from a 45yrs old home base Nigerian brother, may God bless your marriage and grant you and your partner eternal love and marital bliss in Jesus name.

    • @Zimzum93
      @Zimzum93 Před 9 měsíci +29

      That’s definitely not something you should say about garments from other cultures, especially garments that are made for ceremonies and rituals as sacred and possibly religious as weddings or funerals etc.
      I understand that you’re just trying to express that the fabric and construction looks poor, and that’s fine because every single country is gonna have some terrible seamstresses who made bad ugly shit BUT it’s not okay to call a potentially sacred garment from another culture a Halloween costume when there is an entire history of white people using these garments as dress ups and costumes in a really incorrect and disrespectful and racist way. I know it was a complete accident and not what you meant but I thought I would just explain it politely before someone else sees your comment and assumes you’re deliberately being racist and making fun of the culture and doesn’t understand that you’re just trying to describe the fabric and sewing as cheap wnd you weren’t aware of the whole history of racism behind calling these types of garments Halloween costumes as a racist insult. I just wanted to explain in a calm nice helpful way before someone gets upset and a fight starts.
