So you made an old school shell texture. Nice.
I love all tutorials you make! Chers from Patagonia, Argentina!
This is how the Octane render engine did all the displacement stuff. Never thought to try it in Eevee though! Great idea!
Super cool trick! I’m curious though if there’s a noticeable change in performance using this method versus using set position in geometry nodes to do the displacement? Would be cool to see a comparison of the two
Curious about this too
Its an insane difference. Just think about the polycount. With geometry nodes you need a super dense mesh. With this method you just have 4polys x array repetitions. This is more like an inefficient parallax shader. But that said you can make a simple parallax shader in eevee, you have the same depth effect and it's more performant than this setup. And there are a couple tutorials that show you how to actually do that
I was literally about to ask ahahah
Dude you are just something else, you understand this like you wrote it- wish I did.
You're Brilliant!! 🌞Infinite Thanks for all your great teachings, my Friend.
this was an awesome trick Chris
mindblowingly cool trick!
That was an interesting take on Displacement Texture ..1 👍
really cool effect
wow thats great can you tell us howto apply this to a spehre or different objects?
Amazing
This is insane, until we get proper parallax occlusion this is gonna speed up my render times like crazy, BTW is there any way to move the model without braking the ajustment?
❤
It will work this method and in Cycles ?
Wait isn't that how parallax mapping works?
Oh well let add the comments for you
Nice Job
Thank you!
So I suppose this "layered pie" doesnt make sense, paralax occlusion shaders are created for blender. It;s more effective
It just work on flat surfaces, ok so it’s almost useless. Its still nice to have some exercise in blender.
This kills my performance anyway LOL
Why not use geometry nodes for the displacement? Seems much simpler and likely more performant
Orrr we can switch to cycles 🤣
too much talking
I knoe aye

I hate the song you use, I just.. hate .. it..
So instead of complaining, just mute the video and turn subtitles on....
@@boop3260 the guy has had the same annoying song now for like 5 years, I literally cannot watch his videos because of this horrible horrible song he chose. He could go to chat gbt and get it to make him a new song absolutely for free, but instead he chooses to use this incredibly crappy annoying piece of music
@@aegisgfx That sounds like you-kinda-problem
Then just skip the intro? The music is there for literally 18 seconds.
@@MKgumba he plays that song 10 times in every video too!!! Forget it I unsubbed this guy
