You have to get a bearded dragon they are great
Do you have any Vinegaroons by chance? If not, I highly suggest that you should, they are also known as whip scorpions but are very safe to handle
@@neelix3821 I do! I have two!
Could you do a video about them? My baby named Noxus is very very fat and I'm not sure how long I shouldn't feed her for
So many amazing scorpions 😍 so perfect I sent you the scorp keychain too lol. Glad you liked it all!!
Thank you so much for the amazing gifts my friend! 😊🕷🦂
@@Reptiliatus do you have centipede feeding video?
I own both scorpions and T's but to answer the question of the day, I would undoubtedly choose my scorpions there are plenty of tarauntula collectors and enthusiast but scorpions don't get enough love and credit for being incredible animals and the fact they have been around since dinosaurs is pretty rad to add on to the debate. Everyone who has seen my collection always ask about my T's and little to no interest in the scorpion species and i just will never understand why but oh well i will always love my scorpions over tarauntulas and i also love your youtube channel thank you for all the information you provide us mid level to beginner owners and excited to see more about your scorpions!!!
Honestly to your question tarantulas come in different colors and scorpions are dull not that pretty color wise don't get me wrong I love my scorpions.
I blame Spider-Man
Agreed i love scorps more too escecially the buthids
🦂 scorpion feedings are my favorite. I love the takedowns! 🦗🦂
I’m so glad you enjoyed! 💥🦂
Those isopod stickers are SO FRIGGEN ADORABLE and I cannot cope.
They are awesome! 😊
scorpion because they r like some mythical monster from a movie tht u can also imagine them being 100 times bigger in there little world of a enclosure 🦂🕷️❤️
My favorite part of watching your videos is that you educate while you're doing something. I learn so much and then word vomit it all to my friends. Haha
Thank you so much! I’m thrilled you feel that way about my content!
love the post office box idea
Awesome! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for watching the video’
That must of been terrifying for the first cricket
🦗💥🦂😢
QOD……A tarantula because they freak me out less than scorpions do. Lol🤣
Also, too funny…right after you said “never reach into an enclosure with your hands”, you reached into Achilles’s enclosure with your hand. Haha!
Because Emperor and Asian Forest Scorpion have a very mild venom , similar to a bee , and they rarely use their stingers (that's why he was surprised that Achilles used his).
But the small ones are no joke , they can send a person to the hospital or even worse.
❤️ that first take down
Pretty amazing!
If I were to choose between scorpion or spider, I'm gonna go with scorpion, they just look cooler to me and they got stingers AND pincers, I'm more of a gecko person but since watching these amazing videos, I've been seeing more and more amazing animals! Keep up the good work!
Thanks again for the amazing content Dayyan!
As much as I love scorpions I will always go towards tarantulas for numerous reasons. For one tarantulas have better appetites I find scorpions don’t eat often at all and also tarantulas have a way longer life span then scorpions which makes them number one for me 😊
I'm just now watching this video and really enjoyed it. I'm wanting to get a scorpion but haven't done it yet as I'm trying to learn everything I can before getting one. Looking forward to seeing more of your scorpion videos!
Great feeding video. Tarantulas over scorpions.
Thank you! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I would choose the tarantula because I truly love them. As a youngster I wasn’t allowed to have scorpions, my mother just had a fear of them because she was stung by two when she was younger. She let me have spiders, lizards, turtles, snakes and all kinds of insects which I loved !
nice setups and ofc great content even im late to watch your video, im still amaze keep it up
thanks for sharing! im super jealous of your isopod prints! I just started keeping the Giant Canyon isopods and have to split my colony because they are growing so dang fast.
yeah, you should totally get a PO box!
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for watching! 😊
Hi Dayyan, I had tons of fun watching everyone eat! ☺️
Hi Tracy! Thank you for watching! I’m so glad you enjoyed!
@@Reptiliatus I always do, Dayyan! Your camera is doing an excellent job too!
question of the day: I would choose both because I love them equally. Amazing creatures! 🦂🕷🕸
Haha cleaver option! 😉
"Don't ever go in with your hands" - literally 2 seconds later you're using your hand to lift a hide lol
Some of those stickers from Kat are definitely some Tom Patterson originals, including the glow in the dark one. I know because i just ordered some myself, great illustrations he does. Those were some awesome gifts you unboxed
That’s wicked! Thanks for letting me know!
@@Reptiliatus you're welcome 😉, he draws some really good ones
@@karynsztabaluk1479 he def does!
What an amazing video I had to watch it twice
Thank you so much! Thrilled you liked it!
Ah yes been waiting for another scorp vid.
I’m glad! Hope you enjoyed it!
QOTD: Given that im the Proud Owner of a 14 year old Chaco Golden Knee im on the Tarantula side. Though Ive heard good things about the Emperor Scorpion so i plan to get one soon.
I love this scorpions so much!
Thanks 🦂!
Amazing video. Subscribed
Thank you and welcome to the community! 😊
My dad was a middle school science teacher. He had tarantulas as classroom pets and we had emperor scorpions for awhile. So I’ve always enjoyed handling the ones that were safe to handle. We would exercise the scorpions by rotating our hands, encouraging them to climb back and forth, from palm to back of the hand or between hands. We ONLY did this when they were completely relaxed. My sisters and I rarely upset the scorpions (never got a serious pinch and absolutely no stings, just slight pressure of claws warning that we had moved too fast). My dad, however, must’ve smelled bad to them or something, they regularly put their tails to the side, placing their stingers gently against his skin in warning (he also got pinched fairly regularly, without any warning). 😂
I do not do well with inverts but I can bring myself to watch your feeding videos now so that's good
I appreciate your effort! It’s also great that you are working on that! Thanks for watching!
@@Reptiliatus we had a tarantula in my science class in highschool. I designed a really cool habitat and I was able to get to the point I could pick him up but for some reason every other invert and any spiders except jumping spiders terrify me 🤷
QOTD: I’m here to work on my arachnophobia and as well as see your reptiles and amphibians, so in my case, I’d own neither, I appreciate them through those that love to keep them though. So thanks for that Dayyan!
I’m so impressed by your continuous courage and show of support! I sincerely hope that things are slowly getting better!
I have a whites tree frog named jump I love those stickers
Haha that’s awesome! Me too!
They just look cool and I have a fear of tarantulas
Fun fact, Australia is home to scorpions but none are highly venomous.
Love all your videos! What substrate do you use for an emperor scorpion 🦂
This video is so Rad!!! I recently acquired my first scorpion (Asian Forest scorpion juvenile size about the size of a half dollar coin ) I’ve had for about a month now. I like your setups. What size are the tubs ? Are they bio active ? And do you use any heat pads?
I love them both I can't decide
That's probably the first time in recent memory (or at all for that matter) I've seen any large scorpion use it's stinger.
The hairy looking plants in your tropical scorpion enclosure, what is the name?
I don’t keep arachnids , and don’t plan to start, however, I do enjoy watching your feedings!
Cheers man!,,,
I’d like to keep a scorpion for sure, i’m just not a spider guy and I admire scorpions as just these unique, elegant and deadly creatures, I think they’re really cool
Finally my favourite content..
Glad you enjoyed! 😊
Never go in with your hands, always use tools… *immediately thereafter, goes in with hands* LOL
If you’re talking about the Heterometrus feeding, they are basically harmless and a just scorpion that never opts to sting. I would never remove wood out of anything with potent venom but fair comment, sorry 😅! Just trying to protect my audience!
Turantula for sure, i’m building up tne courage to get one hopefully soon!
😊👍🏼
I think a P.O. Box would be fun!
Scorpions are great
8:37: damn that scorpion 🦂 was fast
Very!
Scorpion because my husband is so off put by spiders he doesn't even want me to get a tarantula tattoo. Lol but up to me solely defiantly a tarantula.
I have 2 scorpions and 5 t's I love them both equally
My preference would be scorpion over tarantula as i feel that scorpions are just way cooler and like the ultimate insect killer in my opinion, although tarantulas are visually more impressive with colours
Loved the vid and love the channel 😁😁
Nice
QOTD: probably a tarantula. They just seem more calm and colourful than scorpions.
Doing a bit of a scorpion binge tonight, so for this QOTD, I think scorpion over tarantula. Don't have either yet, still keeping cute little isopods, trying my hand at millipedes esp. pill millipedes. Hoping to work my way and courage up to a Flinders Ranges scorpion eventually..... Maybe. 😅
Well it really just depends on the type of tarantula and scorpion but I have both animals, and my tarantula is a rose hair tarantula and my scorpion being a Asian forest scorpion they are both amazing starter pets to own
Wonderful! Thanks for sharing!
Definitely get a po box!!
😊
Nice movie. I have a question. Do you just fill the bowls with water, or do you sprinkle it lightly around it or on the ground from time to time?( Desert species)
Hi mate a quick question!! In your intro you said something about " medically significant bites and stings " i have never heard about the bites side ot this would you mind tell us a little more about it please
Thanks for the video. I want one, I have an allergy to wasp venom and I am afraid of the reaction of a possible sting. What do you recommend, an Emperor, or a H. Spinifer? I am a beginner.
Hey, you never posted updates about gecko’s from N something and Pingu. That video from 9 months ago was amazing and I’m interested in seeing more of those. What colors were the next clutch for example and how are they turned out to be. Is that gonna happen?
i can not believe that your heterometrus eat LOL. mine never ate, however my buthids go CRAZY for food
It’s funny you say that. The cb little ones have always been good eaters! I have two older ones I presume are wc and those took at least a year to start eating readily for me! So glad they’ve come round! I just made sure they always had water available and would randomly try to offer them some crickets here and there 😅.
In response to your Question;
I'd prefer the tarantula, as I could chose one that allows handling.
Fun clip! Thanks
Fair enough! Thanks for sharing! 🕷
@@Reptiliatus...on the other hand, I've had as many as 13 fish tanks of fish, non of whom appreciated handling!
So, go figure!!! 😈
I would live to have a pet scorpion. Either an emperor scorpion, something I can actually hold, or something really hot like the fat tail family or a death stalker!
Seen a video you did couple years ago, did you ever make a care sheet on emporor scorpion?
"Never go in the enclosure with your hands, always use a tool...etc etc...these animals are not predictable, it's just *never worth it" ***Later on...at **7:58** and **16:35****** 🤣🤣🤣
🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙

Question of the day: I would probably choose a scorpion because the indicating hairs even from a curly hair really bother my skin and is very painful. Although it is very fun to hold a tarantula and you can't exactly do that with a scorpion, I would probably choose a scorpion.
And I have a personal question too. I am thinking of getting a BCI from a rescue and it looks to be about 7 feet long so I was wondering what size enclosure would be appropriate for this wonderful girl.
Minimum 5' x 2".
Thanks! My plan was to make a 7x2x3 foot enclosure. It will have a big home.
Both because there beautiful
Great answer 😊
Thank you
With these bins, how do you prevent escapes? I have a few and I’m looking to get either a T or scorpion so it would be cool to use a bin if it can work.
I love your vids you actually help me get over my fear of spiders now i got me pet adult female Curly Hair Tarantula named her Charlotte form Charlotte Web thanks for helping me of my fear of spiders there are few spiders that scare me but Tarantuals don't scare me anymore.
Question of the day.......between the two I'd have to pick whichever one requires the least amount of me having to look at it. Scorpion? They seem cleaner maybe? They all give me the creeps, more for you guys to love
I had 2 emperor scorpions and they were not aggressive at all
Yea they are usually pretty chill!
I Love Pandinus imperator 🦂
Hi dion for some reason I'm less arachnophobic with scorpions haha as much as I love looking at tarantulas though in Australia we only really have old world species and can only keep natives so no real crazy colours and more bite haha though my favourite tarantulas would have to be the green bottle blue and the cobalt blue. So a scorpion for me 😅 which would be the black rock scorpion but I love your emperor Achilles
maybe because they don't look much like spiders. 🤷🏼♀️🤔
Tarantulas
Thanks for sharing!
New world T's probably win it for me, I want to try keeping a big, relatively chill lass.
But if we're talking p. Imperator or maybe a heterometrus species, I'd definitely snatch a scorpion, they're too badass to not admire.
QOTD, I love interacting with scorpions especially wild ones but I've never had any luck keeping them in captivity unlike my experience with keeping Tarantulas, so I'd have to pick tarantulas. Also definitely get a PO box then I can send you some hand made porcelain goodies.
Tarantula! I would Never get anything venames. I've held one tarantula at the Milwaukee zoo, several years ago!
Hate to break it to you but tarantulas are also venomous 😅.
@@Reptiliatus I was told they aren't there bit is bad and they use there back legs to throw there fur to get things to back off cause the hairs are nasty.
I'd have to chose Tarantulas.
I have 1 scorpion that I dont know species as she arrived to my friend with ? On box. We adore her.
But I have 32 tarantulas & they are definitely my favourite.
I started off with jumping spiders then got tarantulas & velvet spiders.
Tarantulas have definitely became my main interest & favourites. I just love everything about them.
I was worried about my scorpian at first as she barely ate. But she eats well now xx
whould go with tarantulas over scorpions. In my experience tarantulas are more fun to keep. The colors, webbing and the aboreal lifestyle of some of them. I believe they molt more frequently and can be better display animals as well. I love scorpions though. I have kept some asian forest scorps, but the coolest one was a babycurus jacksonii 😁.
Im a big fan of centipedes too. I used to keep a scolopendra galapagoensis orange form.
It's been awhile but cane to show some support
Thanks so much! I appreciate it! Hope you enjoyed the video 😊🦂!
For your question of the day, I have to go with tarantulas, seeing as how I have a small but growing collection of them. I’m a bit biased against scorpions, though, because, when I studied in India for a semester, I almost got stung by one that had gotten into our bathroom. It was a pretty feisty scorpling. I’ve been a bit wary of them ever since, but I’m sure with time I may get one.
I choose both because I have both 🥰
I would go with scorpions! I love all creatures, but definitely insects / creepy crawlies in general are my least favorite. Unfortunately I am irrationally afraid of spiders, I've been watching lots of tarantula content to try to get over it. Scorpions remind me more so of crabs so they don't creep me out much and they're so cool looking. I'm also a scorpio 😂
A bit late to the party but if I were to choose I think scorpion over spider. Both beautiful to look at but something about spiders just still give me the heebee jeebees...
Thanks for sharing!
I have a scorpion ( mesobuthus gibbosus ) and if i had to choose a tarantula or a scorpion i would choose the scorpion because i find them more interesting
I have one, but no venomous 😊
I would choose the scorpion. Slower, unable to climb smooth surfaces and no hairs.
However, they live shorter.
wimpy scorp couldnt even pierce the worm lol #BoaGang!!
He says. " never ever go into their enclosure with your hands, always use a tool".... then pursues going into the enclosure with his hands
😆👍 13:58 👈 (tap here to go to time stamp in video)
i see this was a year ago and you probably don’t even remember what you are talking abt but he was meaning in that specific genus and species. the emperor and asian forest aren’t as venomous/potent as a bark scorpion or fat-tail. emperor are also not defensive so there is no need to be scared or have fear of being stung by them
I’m thinking tarantulas !! I have 13 & just got a 2 inch Asian Forest scorpion from my friends baby’s 🖤
Awesome!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
😊🙏🏼
I have 11 tarantulas and no scorpions. Tarantulas come in so many colors, no disrespect to scorpion lovers 😁
I've been thinking about getting an emperor scorpion but I cannot seem to find much information about their care, especially diet. How often should you feed them and what insects should you feed them? Do they NEED crickets because I have seen almost everybody feed them crickets along with other insects but crickets are noisy and stinky lol. How often can you feed certain insects? Do they need a variety? Do the bugs need to be dusted in calcium? If you could make a video on diet or atleast reply and answer a few of my questions I would really appreciate it.
hi!
-at least a ten gallon tank
-half filled with coconut fiber/jungle mix or potting soil
-dampen/mist the ground every day & night or when % low
-humidity level 70-90% (you can cut a straw in half and put in both corners of tank to pour water in it for the bottom to also get moist or use hydro balls for bioactive setup)
-temperature 70-90°F. do not use a heat lamp unless you have a bigger tank and can let the scorpion get away from the heat. you can use a heat mat on the side of the tank for one side to be warm and other cold. not needed unless the room is colder.
-diet: include a variety of crickets, roaches, meal/superworms, hornworms for treats less often (offer one every day or every other day except when molting) they do NOT need to be dusted! you don’t have to get meal/superworms all of the time and can use just dubia or runner roaches and crickets, yes they do need and have to have crickets! make sure you get the crickets gut loaded before being fed!
@@lexexotic Thanks this helps a ton! I've got an old 40 gallon tank sitting around and wanted to find an animal for it. I figured a scorpion would be pretty cool but doing research has been a little tough because I can't seem to find much info. I'd probably want to do a bioactive setup. Do you know if they would do well with live plants or if they would try to eat isopods? I know a lot of animals dig up and totally bulldoze live plants and I know scorpions do burrow so I'm curious. I haven't seen many people with bioactive setups for these little guys.
QOTD: I would honestly rather have a tarantula. The fact that you can hold them without relative fear of being stung or bitten is a big plus in my book. The scorpions are really cool to look at and to watch eat, but so are the tarantulas. Scorpions are really just something to watch and that is about it.
Where'd you get the emeror 👀👀
I would rather have a tarantula because they are very pretty.👍🏻❤️
I would pick a tarantula because I have one in the low maintenance
I would so get myself a Mexican red knee or a rose hair because tarantulas are less venomous than the Scorpion I would love to get myself an Asian forest scorpion but can't find any in Canada or any pet stores that carry them
