All I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you ☺️🙏🏼! As I post this video I meant to have uploaded for you Friday (sorry about that! 😅), I am blessed to find that my channel has reached 100,000 subscribers! Thank you so much to each and every one of you for watching, commenting, liking, sharing, and being a supporter of the channel. I’m so appreciative! Also hope you enjoy the scorpions! ☺️
all i can say is that you are an amazing person dayyan!!! and don’t let anyone else tell you differently!
Congrats man! U really deserve it! I have kind of a rough time lately but you and your videos bring me alot of joy. I really want to thank you for that. Thats also why u really deserve it.❤😁
Actually most centroides species of scorpions are actually parthenogenic. You might get babies from those 2 females as well.
Thanks for letting me know! Def crossing my fingers 🤞🏼
Dayyan, I knew it wouldn't take long at all. Great job!!! You did it. All your awesome hard work paid off!!! Woo hoo! I'm so excited for you!!!
I love keeping all the venomous scorpions because the diversity in color, attitude, and potency is so fascinating. I also think that seeing these scorpions in action can really teach how these animals have survived for millions of years. They are also a good teaching opportunity to those who dont know or understand much about scorpions
Instant like for the disclaimer at the start. I love arachnids but I would never keep species that could kill me
BRO!!! YOU DID IT!!!! I NEW YOU COULD DO IT AND YOU DESERVE IT ALL 100% FOR THE 12 YEARS OF HARD WORK!
Thank you so much!
I used to have a large group of emperor scorpions. Seeing the way they interact with each other was always amazing. Showing people that they weren't aggressive really opened a lot of eyes.
Thank you for your lovely videos! You are so knowledgeable and I love the information you impart to us in your videos. I used to own tarantulas, and had a rose hair, and an OBT many years ago. I didn’t quite realize the responsibility that came with tarantulas (like your scorpions) and became too comfortable caring for them. Well, all it takes is one mistake. I had slipped when feeding my OBT one day and without thinking, went to grab my tongs and it was lightning fast, jumped and bit me on the index finger. Let me tell you, when you go to the ER and the only thing they tell you they can do is to have you “Wait out the pain” - that’s your make or break moment of “Am I responsible enough to own venomous animals?”... needless to say they both found a wonderful home a week later to someone who specializes in arachnids, specifically old world varieties.
It is quite a joy to see your collection, through a video of course. I do not think I would ever be brave enough to experience that excruciating pain again, but it is nice to be able to see how wonderful you treat your pets, and the amazing habitats you have built for each and every one of them.
Thank you
Scorpions are Native to my part of the USA and running into one was a pretty common occurrence.
Most of the time when you ran across one outside , you just shooed it away and let it be. They do serve a niche is the ecosystem so you really don't want to kill one if you didn't have to.
Finding one in the house, may have lead to a different outcome.
We grew up with scorpions all around us. So, seeing one, and knowing which ones were like bee stings, compared to ones that are deadly, was knowledge that you had to know.
So, I totally agree with you that these are not pets like dogs and cats. Some of the species are deadly and all of them need to be handled, or treated, with respect.
Just last week I rehomed a bark scorpion that was a rider on a bunch of rocks I picked up on a trip. I didn't know he was in the bucket of rocks until I filled the bucket with water and he came to the top a bit angry.
It was rehomed to a nice mesquite tree out in the country where he, or she, will never interact with people.
Thanks very much for sharing! Well said!
I just love the word "Scorpling"! I did enjoy this episode. It was nice & long. It was informative. It was laid-back & fun. I already can't wait until next week!
CONGRATS! Well done on reaching 100k! Also, thank you for the disclaimer, too many people miss doing this and it's damned important.
100k as I am watching this video and you could not be more deserving. I am so appreciative of your focus on education and genuine love for all the animals you keep. 🥰
Congrats on the 100k!! Interesting video, loved to learn a few new things. Sadly I don't think a scorpion would be a pet for me any time soon but they are really interesting to see! the speed, wow!
Great video and a belated congrats on reaching 100k! I love scorpions so much, I got my Heterometrus sp. last year and quickly fell in love with them. I have a H. arizonensis coming tomorrow and I'm super excited.

Thank you! 🙏🏼
Wait you are 100k !,, The most important thing to me is you didn’t sensationalize your videos aka putting your animals at risk to get more views. You know what the way you did it many could say .... wholesome.
Happy 100k!!!!🥳🥳🥳
No worries Dayyan! I won’t go get any arachnids anytime soon! I’m living very happily, vicariously through you! The nerd in me who wants to learn is engrossed! Thanks!
100k subs!!!! Yea man!!! Well done!!!
QOTD: I think people keeping them, I agree with you, is amazing for learning about them, their environment, and the possible applications for their venom! I wouldn’t personally, but love learning about our earth and it’s inhabitants!
I love watching the intensity of these scorpions in their takedowns and the variety in which they approach their takedowns. I have only had one species before which is the centruroides vittatus (striped bark scorpion) which i had caught at work one day as it found its way inside. I had to do some digging to figure out the species and did research on its toxicity while keeping it in a temporary container until i got his terrarium. It recently passed away and i ended up buying the androctonus australis as i love the fat tails. Obviously there is quite the difference in potency but from how skiddish and unpredictable Harold was and doing research on the A. Australis ld50 and watching handlers such as yourself i am confident in keeping such a dangerous animal. Honestly the unpredictablity in their behaviors and "personalities" helps me keep from becoming complacent to the fact of how agressive and potent they are always taking extra precautions to keep the neccesary distance between me and it while feeding or moving it to new housing. U have my subscription and i will continue to watch your videos and learn with you on this journey of invertabrates in paradise!
Ironically, I started with hottentota tamulus as my first scorpion. My mom was too freaked out by the Asian forest scorpion so it was the only 0ne I could get away with. I ended up putting it in a low iron glass awuascaping tank and had the outside laminated with clear vinyl just for safety. Moreover, everything was contained in the shelf except for two viewing angles and even the top was sealed. I never even tweezer fed it just for good practice. In any case, watching it stalk prey is always more fun. Finally, when you need to clean / rescape the enclosure, a popper scooper is really good for picking them up given they have a sandy substrate underneath. They naturally gravitate to it.
Dope collection! I have about 20 scorps all medically significant. Beautiful creatures but I would not touch or feed them without my 20” tongs haha. My parabuthus species are the fastest, the deathstalkers are the skittish ones, my androctonus and hottentottas are very aggressive. Plan to add about 20 more after my towns expo this upcoming weekend.
100k baby congrats
Hi there, I love the scorpion videos and I currently have a Androctonus bicolor in my collection and was wondering if you would ever consider that species? But keep up the great work, love the videos!!
You honestly have the coolest animals! I just stumbled upon your channel today and also live in Canada! If you live in Calgary That would be even better because I would love to meet your animals 😍 hahaha
That sounded creepy lol!
They are great pets, when you are allergic to animals with fur or feathers. Watching peoples responses to learning you have them, or seeing your pet for the first time is awesome.
HAPPY HAPPY 100K!
Thanks so much! ☺️🙏🏼
@@Reptiliatus congrats m8!
Btw what kind of sand rock mix do you use for the desert types?
I just got my first scorpion today but I own a sizable collection of tarantulas. I'm very excited to see the behaviors of my new buddy after watching my tarantulas for so long. It amazes me how every arachnid is a little bit different.
Wonderful! What species did you go with??
Yes. Super!
I would like to keep these scorpions to educate others that as long as you respect the animals they can be cool to watch. It is the same reason that at some point I would like to keep tarantulas and snakes.
Also, I'm highly allergic to anything with fur so I've been looking for pets that are interesting and won't cause me issues as long as I respect them, of course :)
Your collection is wonderful. Thanks for this video.
Beautiful animals 😍
Thanks!
Let’s gooo 100k!!!
hello great video Dayyan
Thank you so much!
I had a group of bright morph Leiurus hebraeus I definitely miss them truly beautiful scorpions. Just have a pair of centruroides sculpturatus at the moment. I find it amazing how fast some of the “deadly” species of scorpions are, no where near old world T fast but definitely quick little buggers
Just got my first isopod colony of dwarf whites! Gonna put some in a cyricosmus perezmilesi bioactive and then keep the rest by themselves 😁
100k. Yahoooooooo. To the moon. 🇨🇦🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
I’ll definitely get some someday, not now,but sooner or later,I’ll get some hots! I’ve raised widows and recluse spiders and I’ve never been bitten.
That desert substrate looks amazing, I just ordered some for my Hadrurus Arizonensis I’ll be getting soon. Kind of hard to find right now though, especially the Sonoran Ochre.
It’s so good isn’t it?!
@@Reptiliatus unfortunately, the place I ordered from just refunded my order because they were out of stock. Any idea where I can find it elsewhere?
I love scorpions🦂🦂🦂🦂
20:13 the Skorpion goes like:Peekaboo
Love the scorpion's.. i have Leiurus quinquestriatus - 2 Parabuthus transvaalicus- Androctonus australis
One day hottentotta tumius
I was arachnophobic my whole life, but watching videos on channels like yours has brought me around to keeping Tarantulas and scorpions. Keeping highly venomous scorpions compared to OW Tarantulas, are no more difficult if you treat all animals with caution and respect, so choosing to keep Hottentotta hottentotta was simply a matter of wanting something I didn't already have.
Nice ☺️
Hey, first of all congrats and second maybe we could do a quick live stream just 10 minutes or something. For celebration????
You know your doing things right when u gain almost 24k subscribers in about 5months
Scorpions are actually the easiest venomous animals to contain. It is a little concerning that so many buthids are in the hobby, but there are also many other types like the forest scorpions or the flat rocks that are essentially harmless. Even with so many potent species available, we don’t hear about accident. Overall they are very interesting to keep.
Fun fact: the Hottentotta franzwerneri species (I do not know alot about scorpions) actually traveled (from Morroco) accidently with my friend in his suitcase. Sadly they burnt him because they (and me) do not know alot about them.
I love your scorpions!! I have a quick question, since I’m debating getting substrate for my crestie (I have tile in there now). Should I do substrate changes, even if I have a drainage layer?
I would say that no need to change the substrate if there's no mold. The drainage layer is used for the extra water to drain and not to stay in the substrate and causing mold. I only change substrate if there is a lot of mold, if there is just a little I let the terrarium to go bit too dry and just take the mold out before watering it.
maaaan I need to get some scorpions 💯💯
How do you keep them at proper temperatures in the tubs? Beautiful! What are you using for sand and rock mix?
Hey do you think a desert hairy scorpion is safe for a beginner? I want to get one but I’ve never owned a scorpion before. Congratulations on the 100k subs
Happy World Wildlife Day! Tell the critters too!
I am so early wowwwe
I love scorpions ever since I was a kid I'd love to have one now but the way my lease is Rich and I can't but I also love on the East Coast so it may not be feasible to have one as our Winters are very cold
I would own a scorpion because I find them fascinating but I can also see why some people wouldn't.
ℹ The scorpion formerly known as Heterometrus cyaneus is now reclassified and given its own genus: Javanimetrus. It is only distantly related to the species in the genus Heterometrus new research has shown.
Can you get a venomous scorpion if you have been working with 20 deadly centipedes for a very long time. I love the Androctonus genus
OOf, kinda brutal but amazing, my first scorpion video :)
Hehe 😅 thank you for watching!
I’ve been wanting too get a Arizona bark scorpion I own 11 different scorpions I started off with the Asian forest but then kept going higher up on the list the only 2 I handle are my Asian and emperor
QOTD: in terms of arachnids, though I'm still getting over my fear of them, I just want to know more about them. they're very interesting little critters that honestly deserve way more love!
I am wondering and the same thing about your spiders and lizards if you can feed it anything for instance can I catch my own cricket and catch my own grasshoppers and breed them or do I have to buy them from pet stores as well can we feed them anything like if I see a butterfly or a Moth or a regular earthworms or can you go to the fishing section of the store and get some of those meal worms or do I have have to feed them special things?
For merch can u get hoodies.
Which scorpions are put and about the most (relatively)
I'm trying to convince my gma and mom on letting me have a scorpion🦂... Can u tell me some of the benefits or pros of keeping scorpions?
Hello, what kind of soil is suitable for scorpions? How many hours do scorpions need sunlight? What percentage of moisture do scorpions need? Do parent scorpions live together? Can a large number of scorpions be kept together? And after the mother of the scorpions gives birth, the other scorpions do not harm the children.
Hola que sustrato utiliza...agradezco si sube el ling.
where do you design these stickers
I've been planning on getting an emperor scorpion ever since I saw some at Petco when I was a teenager. But since I was a teenager at the time. I was still living with my mom. And she wouldn't let me have one. But now that I'm an adult about to turn 36 years old on November 18th. And living in my own apartment. I thought I would finally get myself an emperor scorpion as an early birthday gift to myself. And the only reason I want one. Is not really a good reason. I just want one cause my zodiac sign is Scorpio. And not really sure why. But ever since I found out my zodiac sign was Scorpio. I've felt some kind of connection to scorpions. Not sure why? 🤔🦂
Hey Dayyan! This may be a compeletely uneducated question, but is it true the smaller the scorpion the more potent the venom? You mentioned something along those lines in the video. Sorry for the silly question. Also in the city I live in you cannot own any venomous invertebrates or reptiles. 😭 Woo Ontario lol.
Because you keep "hot" scorpions, are you required to keep antivenom on hand yourself? (I'm relatively sure that the strongly suggested recommendation in the US, if not the requirement in some places, is that you provide the antivenom of any hot species you keep that are not local/native to your area.)
hey sir reptiliatus, even if they are scorplings they can be fatal too? (Desert Scorpion)
QOTD: I would keep a scorpion ONLY if I knew that I could care for it just as well as Oliver (the kitty). I would think about it and research their care first. They really are fascinating eaters, aren't they?!? Almost as good as watching praying mantids eat.
Which substrate would you recommend for heterometrus longimanus?
Something like a moistened soil. ABG mix, coco fiber or ideally some top soil mixed with bark, peat some moss and a bit of playsand
How can I get connect with the buyers of Venum from my farm?
I have enough of them appear in my home that must be taken outside, to be interested in buying one and putting it in a bin.
