I'm happy to see you back! Any chance of a video updating us on your isopod collection?
Snakes are my favorite animal so I always love seeing snake videos. I love how some hold on to you while you hold them and how they climb around on you. I also enjoy watching their minds work when they're in thinking mode.
Couldn't agree more! They can be such cool animals to interact with/own!
I love how bright and beautiful your garter snakes 🐍 are ❣️❣️ I currently own 4 garters and they are one of my favorite pets for sure! Thanks for the video 😊
I agree there. In 90% of the snakes I’ve seen In person or on CZcams are severely over fed. They don’t need to eat as much as ppl think.
Bingo! Thanks for commenting/watching!
Your husbandry, enclosures and treatment of your animals are second to none... also Wickens wicked Reptiles! You two are the best! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much! That means a lot!
Your garter snakes are just stunning! The others are beautiful, too, I'm just partial to garters and hognoses, lol. Thanks for this great video!
~FM :)
Thank you so much! Haha, that's totally fair! You're welcome! I'm so happy you enjoyed it!
My favorite things about pet snakes are how explorative some species are!! I am about to get my first rhino rat and they seem so observant‼️ live the vids as always 🫶
As someone who also has two dogs and a cat, I love that I -
Only have to feed my CaliKing once a week
Don't have to brush him
Don't have to take him for a walk
Don't have to worry about him barking when I'm not home.
Those garter snakes are BEAUTIFUL ❤️. I love watching the rhino rats up close. Their little "horns" are too cute ❤❤❤
I think I really appreciate snakes because they don't always come out of their hides. It sounds weird but it always makes it feel special when I see my snakes climbing or exploring because they aren't always oot and aboot.
Nice! love seeing the rhinos as I prepare to get some of my own. How often do you feed them fish vs rodents vs quail chicks?
For me the benefit of snakes is definitely that they don't have to eat as often. I like being able to go on trips or long weekends and it makes it so much easier to not have to worry about teaching a pet sitter how to feed them. Also they make such good learning opportunities for when people come ever. They seem to have more gravitas and misconceptions compared to other herps with the general public.
Thank you! I absolutely love my pair! Such fun animals and more content about them is on the way!
Great point! It's definitely a major perk!
Snakes are my favorite reptiles! Love to see more content about them on here :)
QOTD: I just love snakes for their truly fascinating looks and behaviours👍
Yes, snakes are the only vertebrate pets that don’t need to eat very often, and this may be good for some lifestyles. Mine haven’t eaten yet after the winter. Nice snake content.
My kingsnake is my favorite to feed he just does it in a way that makes me always laugh lol.
Awesome! They are great and always ready haha.
All of your animals are beautiful 😍
Thank you!
Love seeing updates on the snakes! Great video!
Yay! Love the snake content 😍 really enjoy watching all of your reptile, amphibian, and invert videos but as a snake keeper these noodles are my favourite! I’m a big fan of their feeding schedules and also just love so much watching my corn snake explore her enclosure and most of all drink water, which is the cutest thing 🥰
I'm so glad you liked it! Great points! Corn snakes are such great pet snakes!
@@ReptiliatusCorn snakes are awesome! Would love to get an MBK in the future too 😄
Another great video. It doesn’t matter who you feature, they’re all wonderful. Though I have to admit that the Green Tree Monitors are my favorites! Well done.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! Haha, yes they are remarkable for sure!
As a newer watcher of your channel and a recently acquired snake owner I never clicked so fast 🤘🏼
Welcome, and thank you! So glad you liked the video!
qotd, observing their behavior is calming for me, their poop frequency is just a bonus for the species i'm interested in getting soon lol especially compared to the birds we already keep
So true! Did you know there is actual animal therapy that uses snakes to calm and ease anxiety!? How cool is that!
@@Reptiliatus i did not but that does make sense! their movements are super soothing, same with the way tarantulas move!
@@kismitj exactly!
I really like watching them eat. Thank you.
Me too! You're welcome!
I have ball pythons and a boa! And I agree that they do not need to eat every single week. I have some smaller ones and adults and they do not eat weekly by choice! I still offer either, Rat or a mouse I will offer, and if they want to eat they will. If not they won’t and will eat either the following feeding cycle or the one after! Snakes are opportunistic hunters and will eat when they’re hungry. They do not eat super often in the wild.
Hello great video information Dayyan
As always, thank you so much for your support and viewership!
California garter snakes are beautiful,, my favourite colour 💙
They are amazing! Thanks for watching/commenting!
Hi Dayyon, Happy Friday. Love your videos. Feeding videos are always fun. Hope you have a great weekend. Love ya friend ❤
Happy Friday! Thank you so much! I hope you have a great weekend, too! Appreciate the love and support!
Definitely the feeding response and seeming them slither all over the tank
Great points! Thank you for watching!
Love your snake content!
Great video :) QOTD: I like how snakes eat, move and that they don't eat as often as other reptiles. I currently have two KSB and they are cool to watch them eat (when they feel like it). I would like to give them more of a varied diet though 🤔
1. They don't eat bugs.
I chose specific species:
1. That aren't picky eaters
2. That are docile/tolerate handling
3. Have somewhat easy husbandry
4. Are under $400
My current snake is a Black Milk Snake that I just got yesterday 🎉
Wow, nice points! Thank you for sharing! Right on! Such a cool species! Also crazy what kind of colour change they undergo from hatchling to adult! You would never guess!
@@Reptiliatus That's what drew me to them more than anything!
I love garter snakes, i have a question though does that dirt on the worm harm the digested system?
I love your reptile feeding videos
Thank you!
Great video as always
Those styrofoam nightcrawler boxes are iconic
I have a rough green snake he is a beautiful bright green I'm getting some corn snakes soon
Awesome feeling video with the snake 🐍🐍 I enjoyed watching
Thank you!
So awesome bro💪
Very cool animals!
Thank you my friend!
Where are your leaftailed geckos? ❤
When's the rehousing for the rat snake
Next Tuesday! 😎
If you had to recommend 5 agamas/dragons what would they be
Oooh, that's a hard one, tbh!
Bearded Dragon
Uromastyx
Painted Agama
Mountain Horned Dragon (Acanthosaura capra)
Butterfly Agama
Pretty cool animals!
Love your videos! Do you still have the leaf tails? I wanna see more of them if possible😢
Thank you so much! Unfortunately, I don't :(. this video explains everything: czcams.com/video/deEtf4P7W8c/video.html
@@Reptiliatus bro I can’t believe there’s actually a famous CZcamsr out there that replies to his comments thank you so much!
Hey Dayyon, wanted to ask you a question on brumating snakes.
Do you think that snakes or reptiles in general that brumate naturally in the wild should be brumated in captivity regardless to whether they are being used for breading or not ?
I ask as I see a lot of theories on this subject and it possibly affecting longevity if we aren’t giving a reptile it’s natural cycle. Thanks
And great video, totally agree on the varied diet.
Personally, I think that it is healthier to do it and could, in theory, prolong life but also help and or be necessary for reproducing. I do sort of have limited experience with this so I won't speak too much to it. It's also better not to do it than to do it if you aren't confident you can do it safely/properly for your pet.
thanks for your reply, I’m from the uk I’ve always kept indoor reptiles my whole life like North American colubrids and never brumated them or thought to do so.
Last year I started getting into European herp’s which I keep outside as it’s a similar climate here to where they are from in the wild and all brumated this winter and have just started to wake up.
After this experience it’s made me start to think I may have been doing a disservice to my other temperate herp’s like my North American snakes that I have kept over the years so have been seeking the thoughts and advice of other experienced keepers as it’s a subject I’m seeing pop up more.
I totally agree with you that you have to be confident enough to do it and have a good understanding of how to prepare the animal for brumation.
Your garter snakes are stunning btw, thanks for the great content
More sneaks
😎
Question of the Day I don't need people to watch him when I'm on vacation.
Nice one! Still would suggest someone checks in but I get what you mean!
That no one needs to feed them when I'm on vacation
Awesome!
Question of the Day Probally that I can go on vacation and no one will need to feed them.
Yes
Do Rhino Ratsnakes constrict their prey?? 🤔
In my experience, they do!
You should put the spelling of your animals pet names and if there is a special meaning on the screen!
Thanks for the suggestion!
I would love to see you get a sand boa one of my fav snakes ❤
Thanks for the suggestion! I have other species in mind, but maybe someday!
Do snakes get Impaction like cresties? If they eat dirt?
