In this video we teach you how to react quicker so you can get to that really fast moving ball. It's not always about having the quickest reactions. If you can learn to read the cues of your opponents than you will gain more time. So learn how to track or watch the ball really closely.
Thanks for watching! We love making table tennis videos and hope they'll help you understand the game of table tennis. Make sure you subscribe to keep up with our latest videos. You can also follow us through:

Thanks Alois. I find it allways helpful for me to be reminded of the basics. And the mnemonic facing the ball with your chest is simply brillant.

Amazinggg...
great tips ...I found this very helpful
Excellent. Good luck with your table tennis. If you ever have any questions you can "ask the coach" on the PingSkills website.
Thanks Alois. Question: you mentioned in this video that one should always 'follow the ball, in and out'. I thought that the moment after you hit the ball, you should shift your attention (away from the ball) to watch your opponent instead (and then, to resume following the ball from the moment your opponent hits it). Is this approach incorrect?
Thanks pingskills
Great tipps thank you😀 it is so satisfying to see these clean exchanges of the ball😂😅
You're welcome. I'm glad you like the tips. Make sure to checkout the PingSkills website for more videos: www.pingskills.com/

+Sushant Mishra Good decision. Enjoy the new bat :)
the last part in the video was great, where u showed first person view, i wish if we could see more of these videos where different shots are showed in first camera view would be of great help and much clearer to understand as to when to hit the ball, whats the contact point on racket, and how much racket should bent or closed and which direction racket should face.... please upload videos in this way, would be of great help as i am still confused about the questions i have mentioned.
I'm glad you liked those shots. We'll try and incorporate more of them in our upcoming videos.
This gentleman is a great teacher.
Thanks for your support!

I'm primarily a tennis player but recently took up table tennis and I'm really loving it. I do have a bad habit that I am trying to break myself of and it has to do with my tennis instinct of taking the racket head upwards on power shots as opposed to letting it drop to knee level and then coming up on the ball. Growing up playing tennis we were always taught to hit through the ball, rotate the body and then flick the wrist on contact to create spin. In table tennis however, it appears that spin is vitally important to keeping the ball in play and the only way to hit the correct shot is to start at knee level and finish at head level.
Is there a drill for tennis players like myself who are trying to make that transition to table tennis?
Great to see you enjoying learning more about table tennis. It sounds like you've got a good understanding of the strokes. I think a good way to practice this is via shadow play, or shadow swings. Here's a video about the topic - czcams.com/video/SzH1whJ5M44/video.html
Let me know if that helps. Good luck!
Thanks a lot I'm from England & in February I became Birmingham's Under 16's Table Tennis Champion 2016,this was something I've struggled with our years thanks a lot
Well done. That is a great effort!
It's a great point... The balance with Chest.. that's a perfect answer for my missed shots ^^ Just it's coming on my eyes when i want to spin the ball and the ball missed from under my bat because of my wrong position :@
I'm glad it helped.
Please tell is that the same bat you use
Yeah I have seen that is that the some bat you use

+Sushant Mishra You're welcome.

+Wowmax Thulin You get the PingSkills Touch blade with Tenergy 05 on both sides.

Chest cam was perfect for this video.
I'm glad you liked it.
hi pingskills I am an professional player and I want to choose a table tennis blade please help I have only two option butterfly reygundo or stiga offensive classic please help me which bat I should go for and yes does price matter when choosing the right blade
+Sushant Mishra It really is a personal preference and they are both good choices. Just choose the one you think will suit you better and go for it. Remember that as long as you have good equipment the difference will come from your training :)
Can I change the grip between a Rally
what type of ball you are using? what do you recommend to someone who is been playing for 6 months?
The 3 star balls are the best. It has been a bit of a strange time for table tennis balls with the transition from celluloid to plastic. You can see a lot of comments about the balls in this blog post - www.pingskills.com/table-tennis-forum/new-ball-just-say-no-a-petition-is-now-online/
Good luck with your table tennis.
Nice video
+Dima Shevchenko (DSplays) Thanks :)
Hey ping skills I love your videos you have been my coach also as well now I want to upgrade my bat I am a professional player and like to hit smashes and want a light weight bat I am currently using a donic waldner 3000 and want to upgrade my interest is in joola I am an Indian so please suggest a racket which is available in India
Thanks
waiting for reply
+Sushant Mishra We aren't really equipment experts but we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V as the step up from a pre-made bat. If you don't want that get any all round blade with Mark V.
Thanks for your kind words and I'm glad we've been able to help you with your table tennis.
thanks man :-)
+thepoisonpotatoe You're welcome.
Please you show how we use eye to look at the ball?
Could we have a longer version of the POV videos? maybe with each different techniques and shots and how it would look like in first person all together in 1 long video. I think it would look pretty cool and help a lot!
+A Smith Thanks for the suggestion. Do you mean the very last clip we shot with the GoPro on our chest that wasn't very stable, or the one before just with the camera close up?
+PingSkills yep the GoPro shot, I think it's really helpful to see how an experienced player hit shots from this perspective. I wish the older videos had them too! I'd love to see some sort of compilation of all the different shots from this perspective if that's possible :)
+A Smith Cool. We'll add it to our list. I thought that people might find it a bit unsettling because the camera is not very still.
+PingSkills It is probably way better than any other POV ping pong shots that are available on youtube right now! but I think that the higher frame rate definitely helps a lot in this regard.
+A Smith Thanks for the feedback :)
also saw a lot of your videos
Hey Alois, what paddle do you use?
At the moment I'm using the PingSkills Touch with Rakza X
Thank you so much. I wish I could buy you some beer.
My coach said play the ball on the top corner of the triangle.. and now i got it: face with your chest 😀 thanks a lot for simplifying these wierd terms:)

We can't make videos for every question we get but we do look at the questions asked on the website and choose from those as to which videos to make.
How to use eye look at the ball?
One tip is to try and focus on the label of the ball.
Hello sir i am confused what we want see only ball our opponent action😅 plz tell me
@pingskill
Yes, focus on the ball 100%

+MR. SCSA OK. Well keep practicing and hopefully next time you'll be ready :)

Hii pingskill plz i want 1 best table tannis racket under 850 rs .... plzz help me
Sorry I don't have any recommendations at that price.
And please is cash on delivery is available
waiting
+Sushant Mishra Sorry cash on delivery is not available. If you are after that you might need to try and find a table tennis club near you that sells equipment. Any allround blade would be a good choice.
nothing about tracking your opponent's body position?
Good point. I think players start to do this out of their peripheral vision naturally.
Hi I am 13 years old. I am simple table tennis player. I can't do forehand topspin continuously, by the time I loose control in my legs and I loose concentration and I just hit the ball somewhere.I am unsatisfied with my playing please help me.
Hi Deekshik, it takes time to develop your forehand topspin. I suggest making sure you watch our forehand topspin video and concentrate on the start and finish position. Then in training work on your consistency. Try and get 5 on in a row, and then build up to 10, 20, 50 and 100. This will help you get the stroke correct and consistent so you can play it more confidently in matches. Good luck!
First
+Ar the ACE!!! Well done. Did you like the video?
+PingSkills Ahahah
wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle
*for years
Predicting the ball's trajectory and practicing the skills till it becomes instinct is probably the best way. Thats why you should refrain from using these chest tricks, a low ball isn't going to come towards your chest at all. Thinking about the ball won't do either, you don't have time to think about the trajectory and such in a fast paced game. Also attacking faster than you can defend is a bad choice. Balance is required or in other words intelligent playing. If you are focused on hitting the ball as fast as possible then your accuracy and defense is most likely weakened. You don't have to blow the paddle out of his hand to win the point.
Great but he needs to louden his voice
Deaf?
good..but why cant still beat a chinese?
Stupid question.. LOL
Mr Man bcs it's their national game ,and they are fuckin hardworking people .
