      @@homevalueglass3809 I run the SMB H2 with my 10.5" AR pistol in 5.56/ .223. Works like a charm. It's obviously much more expensive, relatively speaking, than your run-of-the-mill spring and buffer combo, but I really did notice an immediate difference once I installed mine and got to the range with it. Worth every penny in my opinion.

    My AR has a 16" barrel with a .750 mid-length gas tube, and I got the carbine weight SRS for it, but it was not able to return to battery very frequently when I release my bolt for reloading (this won't happen if I hand charge it). I kinda solved it by putting two quarters behind the SRS in the buffer tube to give it a higher force when releasing the spring. If I wanna change to a proper weight, which would you recommand?

      SRS on carbine gas I would go with Carbine or H no heavier. with SMB you could do H or H2. SMB are easier to tune a rifle but offer less recoil reduction from our SRS. The SRS has duel springs so is best for suppressed guns and recoil reduction but is harder to tune your gun for it. Both great just depends on what you are looking for out of your build.

      I currently have the SMB H2 in my .300 blackout and to be honest, the SMB series is no quieter than a high quality polished spring. I will say this - It pays to have a high quality buffer tube that has a thicker wall to eliminate some of the "twang" as well.

    What are some of the provable benefits to this system Over milspec?

    • @hansblitz7770
      @hansblitz7770 Před 4 měsíci

      Smoother recoil, more firm chambering in adverse conditions, less noise.

    • @LV_223
      @LV_223 Před 4 měsíci

      The only thing completely provable would be the noise reduction. Everything else is subjective without creating some sort of fixture with force sensors to objectively measure felt recoil with and without it. I own the SMB GEN 3 in H2 and love it. The gun shoots flatter and follow up shots are much easier to me, especially with an upgraded trigger of your choosing. The best you can do is watch reviews and take other people's word for it. It's a nice upgrade, but I wouldn't call it an absolute must. It's more of a quality of experience kind of thing. If you like your current set up with a standard spring and buffer combo, then save the money. Nothing wrong with that.

    I have a Savage MSR 15 Recon. The buffer weight is 3oz. I run it suppressed and it’s super gassy. Ejecting at the 2 o’clock position. Well technically the 10 o’clock position. We’ll see who understands that. Now to the question. Not sure is I should go with the SMB 3.8 or 4.7? Or the SRS 3.8?

    • @armaspecusa
      @armaspecusa  Před 4 měsíci +1

      to answer the riddle part. the clock it on the same axis/orientation as the ejection port.
      So if you go SMB go with the H or H2. The SRS because the dual springs I would do the carbine if you run it suppressed. The srs is less forgiving when it comes to tuning. the SMB is simple and thus easier to work with in most cases. but offers less recoil reduction
