  • Mark Peterson is still in South Africa and continues his hunt for a few more plains game species. At the end of it all, he finds himself behind a huge roan, his first ostrich, and a night hunt puts the cherry on top with 2 serval cats. This one is packed with fast action and some up close looks at some of South Africa's most beautiful species.

    Now there is a experienced Guide, Hunter. Right after the shot he knows the animal is done. Not like most of the videos up here in Alaska where you have some guide/friend behind you with out of control buck fever screaming "reload, hit him again". Talk about ruining the moment. Great Video.

    I've seen emus take extreme punishment from multiple hits with.22 rimfire rounds. In the private lands in the bush northeast of Perth around, '74. Beautiful rolling hills of endless eucalyptus trees. Lots of big boomers to shoot at as well. If you're saying that ostrich was a tough kill, Its struth...they react satisfactory with a clean headshot. Good video, carry on, mate...

    Quick question, I am not against the hunting of any animal within the law (would swap spots with you in a heart beat) but could you explain why the predator control at the end of the video.
    Top shows , regards from Australia.

      This was exactly my first thought! I can appreciate the hunt for something to put on the plate…that’s not up for discussion. But what was the purpose of shooting the cats at the end of the video that, by your own admission, were rarely seen?

      I grew up working for my father on his family fruit farm in Michigan. After working in the family business for over 10 years I decided to take my investments into what I love to do. Hunt! I am the owner of Worldwide Trophy Adventures. All of my hunts are to show other hunters what possibilities there are in the world.

    What a shame you shoot from a vehicle and even worse post it on CZcams, that’s not what hunting is about.

    Do you call yourself a hunter ????? sitting on a car shooting down these animals has just NOTHING with hunting to do. (1.54 )
    This is just cull hunting like shooting rats in a barn.
    In real hunting you compare your skills with the animals you hunt.
    This kind of "hunting" is actually forbidden in South Africa.

    • @farleyjj1

      You speak with experience? Forbidden in SA?

      @@farleyjj1 Hi Farleyii Thank you for the question.
      I have been hunting in Namibia , Zimbabwe and South Africa several times the last 26 years. I dont know if it is forbidden in SA. But I know it is in Tanzania and Kenya when hunting was legal there. Forbidden or not, Its a question of fair chase and real hunting. Not just gun down game from a car. Well thats my opinion. It took me 4 years and 3 trips to Africa before I spotted and shot my kudu. Hundreds of kilometers i walked on foot experiencing lots of nature scenery. That was the big thinh about hunting. I dont hunt anymore but love nature still. Greetings from Denmark

    • @farleyjj1
      @farleyjj1 Před rokem +2

      @@christianriedel6481 Thanks for your reply. It's not illegal in South Africa. (May 2022). I hunted 4.5 days for Kudu with out luck -- spot and stalk. Took Sable, Springbok, Impala via spot & stalk. Took Blesbuck & Bushbuck from truck, 180 + yards. At age 74 (then) it was easier for me. Sticks are not easy to use, to make ethical shots. I found it all still to be an exciting challenge. 😊 Going again in June trying for Spiral Slam.
