  • Hey Guys!!
    Happy HOLIDAYS!
    I have had a ton of comments on the "accessories" on my wrist. One is an Apple Watch and the other is my WHOOP!
    Thought I would break it down a little bit, and tell you my likes and dislikes. Definitely has gone better this second time around wearing one!
    Hope you enjoy this! A little bit different from the workout VLOGS, but I really want to show you guys everything that goes into the training lifestyle!!

    Great review. What you did was just describe the difference between good stress and bad stress and they both affect your immunity in different ways. The fact you are able to identify this via the Whoop is great and allows you to make those mental adjustments necessary to clear the mental clusters causing the stress. Dr. Jenna Macciochi just published a book called "Immunity, the Science of Staying Well" and she covers this in it. I just finished reading the book and to hear you describe the effects on you and being able to identify them using the Whoop is very cool and really provides the credibility I was looking for. I just purchased the Whoop yesterday so thank you very much for the honest feedback of the device. Happy training!!

    Almost 15 months for me on Whoop! I liked what you said about waiting to check your recovery score and sleep till after your first workout, etc. Sometimes if you have an important day and you wake up to a red it isn't the first thing you want to see and it can dictate possibly a change in mindset. Going to give that a try!

    • @Kristi-Eramo-OConnell
      @Kristi-Eramo-OConnell  Před 4 lety +1

    • @SparkyBreaks
      @SparkyBreaks Před rokem

      For me, this reason is kind of my reason for not getting it. If I just work out, eat well, and sleep well then I don't see too much use for a whoop or any band really. Also, based on what you've said in the video, you can basically just predict your recovery depending on your own mental/physical stress.

    Love the data from Whoop. I never start an activity, another thing I like, and it always seems to pick it up for me. On the other hand, days that I do NOTHING, it can list my day strain at 20, and recovery the next day super low. Still learning with it.

    This was a very accurate honest review. I wear a whoop but am not by any means an amazing athlete. I love cycling and I go when I can. One of the most interesting things about Whoop for me is the day strain (as pointed out). Psychologically you can wake up and feel like you have had a bad nights sleep and are stressed but the whoop can tell you "hey you're ready to take on strain and rock the day" and you know its always right.

    Great Video, How accurate would you say is the Respiratory Feature? I do lots of breathing exercises and breath holds where my BRPM are 3-6 rather than the typical 12-20. I also do some free diving not sure if the whoop would work for those diagnostics> I recently returned a Garmin diving watch because of its erroneous Respiratory feature (never dropped lower than 10) anyhow thanks for the advice

    Pro triathlete here so I feel like I’m fairly in tune with my body. Just tired whoop 3.0 for a month. It’s good but not worth keeping. Sleep tracking seemed very good. Calorie count is way off (not that I was using for that purpose). What was disappointing was that I didn’t feel like it was providing an accurate snapshot of daily stress outside of training. Days where I trained hard and then sat around recovering were sometimes higher than hard training days where I was chasing around my toddlers all afternoon and I clearly was more stressed. I think it’s a good product and a nice interface but I’ll stick with tracking my data other ways - IMO sometimes going with an honest assessment from your gut is the best approach.
