I'm very touched by Angela's take on all this. Not only has she responded to unspeakable tragedy by selflessly giving to others, but when her generosity is abused, she chose to forgive. Of course, Carlee should face consequences, but I think the real story here is that Angela's type of kindness and goodness still exists in this world. The news is so full of horrors that it's truly amazing to see how one person, who more than any other has earned the right to focus on the negative, is truly a light shining in the dark.

A lot of people in the comments seem convinced that Carlee must have had mental health issues and that's a trend I've noticed is becoming more common in the comments of a lot of videos.
Honestly, I don't think there's any evidence of mental health issues in this case. There's lots of evidence of an entitled, narcissist who behaved appallingly though. One of the side effects of the social media age is that people like Carlee, despite having no discernible talent, feel like they deserve to be famous and, as this festers inside them, they actually become resentful of having to do things like work a regular job.
The irony is she actually seems to have been quite pampered considering she was on her second Mercedes Benz at the age of 25 and we know at least one of those cars was a gift!

I think Carlee's personality before this kidnapping thing says it all. There's no mental health issues here. She is very self centered, thinks she's the queen of the world, and she wanted to get back at people she felt wronged her, make them hurt and miss her and realize what they were missing out on by wronging her. That's the mentality a child has. No different than when you send your 7 year old to their room and then they get the bright idea to run away and hide in the treehouse in the backyard, to make you worry and miss them and realize that sending them to their room was a horrible thing to do.

What you just described does kind of sound like NPD, but the thing about pleading insanity is it means you get diverted to a treatment facility until they can sign off that you're no longer a public risk. For psychosis or bipolar it's pretty easy - you just need to find meds so they don't detach from reality again. But personality disorders like NPD are considered extremely treatment resistant especially in criminal contexts. So it would be an argument she needs to be treated harsher because of her high likelihoods of recidivism, not lighter.

This was exactly my thought. She acted like a a child who “runs away from home” to make their family suffer. Meanwhile there at the bottom of the driveway. Or as most children think some point in their life “if I were dead, then they’ll be sorry”.
She is immature, self centered, selfish, child, who thought way too high of herself. Her posts alone tells me everything I need to know. Her captions are vile and cringe. posting provocative next to a car is not “classy”.

Just those THREE stories are absolutely heartbreaking and there are sooooo many more out there 😔💔 I think she needs to get a degree (I’m not sure what kind exactly) that will get her into a career to assist in finding these women, for the rest of her life. @@It-is-me...Melsie Agreed. Sadly the police worldwide don't take missing people as seriously as they should, and pay no heed half the time to parents, friends, etc who point out that running away would be completely out of character. Especially true, sadly, when you're talking about BIPOC folks, those from lower incomes or poorer areas, etc. And while missing women (at least attractive, young, white ones) are more likely to get media attention, missing men are significantly more likely to be labelled as high risk than missing women, for some reason - at least in the UK. Nobody should have to go through being told that it hasn't been long enough - and in many places, that's not even a rule. The fact that anyone should have to hassle the police to do their damn jobs (or do it themselves) is abhorrent... as is the fact that in the US, the SCOTUS has determined that the police do not, in fact, have to either protect OR serve.

And I thought, why are people saying it makes it harder on POC/WOC? (it's not the first time I heard or read a comment stating the same thing). The moment I heard that she showed up two days after going missing, my first thought was “This girl pulled a Sherri Papini” and it made me so frustrated that our funds were being used for nothing. It also tracks that she’s so spoiled and went to Spain Park in high school; it’s notorious for having a bunch of spoiled kids come from their campus. It’s known as “the university of Spain park” by a lot of the schools around here because of how huge and extravagant the grounds look, making it rival a college’s campus.

Narcissists thrive on attention, its their oxygen. It doesn't even have to be good attention all the time as long they are getting attention. I hope she discontinues nursing, she would never put patients before herself.

I don’t know if any hospital would hire her anyway
      They wouldn’t want the publicity

Hearing Angela Harris talk is just heartbreaking. She and Anaia didn't deserve this. Angela didn't deserve to be messed around by a grifter. 🥺❤

After listening to this… Carlee sounds like she is a attention seeking self entitled person!!!! Very selfish SMH

Maybe this has ended her future career in mental health.
Imagine her as your psychologist, may the gods forbid! 😮

Agree, no board in the world would give her a license, especially for nursing!!

Raise hell if the police don't allow you to report your child missing immediately. Not so much hell that you get arrested, but let them know that you will be contacting a lawyer and the media. The odds for finding someone alive decrease exponentially the more time goes by, don't let them allow any valuable time to be lost.

my blood boils for angela. this woman essentially had to relive the trauma of losing her daughter, put all her effort into helping carlee's family avoid the same fate, just for it to be a hoax. she deserves so much better

How in the world could someone see a girl being forced into a car and not call police? I hope guilt and regret is their only companion.

I think I was very sympathetic prior to this video. It disturbs me to hear parents talk about monitoring and tracking their children more closely as a result of cases like this, and folks seem extremely quick to armchair diagnose Carlee herself (as if a diagnosis would actually address anything happening here lol). But seeing her mother trying to process this miraculous resolution to this horrible event, and imagining what she went through; knowing Carlee was on social media posting about her "enemies" not long after REALLY turned me around. She must be a nightmare to live with, whatever her problem is. Amazing video, this is not a funny situation but some of your edits rly made me laugh.

Thank you for another well made video. Can anyone tell me why the police tells the families of missing people to wait to report them? The 3 women that actually are missing; Lashya, a good student that never had been running away from home before, had a plan and a future. Cierra, a mother. No need for anything more. Sacoya, a transgender woman, vulnerable just bc of her sexual identity.
I don’t get it why the police wants to wait! I don’t live in the USA so that’s why I’m asking…

Considering they are over the age of 18, it is not a crime to disappear and not want to speak to family. The police tells the families to wait in hopes the person will come back within 48hrs

Yes, I just said the same in another post!
The horror of those parents being told their missing daughter was being treated as a runaway despite her never having done so.
If my 18 year old son, who is so good at letting me know what he's up to and whether or not he'll be home, went missing I'd know 100% he had not run away. I'd be beside myself with worry, and I don't even want to imagine.

they are lazy. if it isn't high profile or personal, most of them do not care. a lot of the time they will operate under the assumption that the family is being "dramatic", especially if they aren't white. Our police will save their own kids but handcuff and pepper spray other parents before letting them do the same. They get busted *CONSTANTLY* for having warehouses of evidence they never do anything with. They are militarized bullies and their job is to enforce the current social system. Not stop crime or protect.
