Optimus is truly the ultimate Chad. He gets to keep his girlfriend even after he dies and gets rebuilt, and she is still loyal to him after ghosting her for 4 million years. What a guy

Has anyone noticed that Elita One's and Optimus Prime's names basically both have the same meaning (the first and best), reflecting each other so nicely? This is one the G1 writers got completely right
I'm 44 years old and I know just about everything about G1 Transformers and I told my sons now that all the Transformers names are connected to their personality to this day a lot of people don't even still recognize that or even know that lol crazy

Yeesh. Right or wrong, that response was overly harsh for a possible mistake.
I kinda like her better as Optimus Prime's lover, as it gives more layers to Prime. These days most Transformers media try and make him solely the serious and wise leader of the Autobots, which is fine enough in concept, but often it can result in the character becoming a bit dull. Having someone like Elita gives him more depth, showing that even Optimus has a vulnerable side.
Still, at the same time I’m also glad the character is now getting to stand on her own strengths and not just being known as Optimus's girlfriend.
Dull, stoic AND the reincarnation of the chosen one. Yeah, doesn't leave a whole lot of room to be interesting. Having a complex relationship with Elita could add more to it, but then that leaves the problem of making Elita just as interesting beyond just being Optimus's lover.
I too wish Prime was allowed to have more of a personality beyond being perpetually stoic and wise these days, something more akin to his G1 counterpart (who wasn't above cracking jokes or palling around with his troops), or even TFA. I know Optimus is the great hero of the franchise, & thus he should be wise & take his job as leader seriously, but that doesn't mean there can't be more to him than that (as long as it doesn't involve him tearing people's faces off like Bay Prime). Just look at Megatron, he's the megalomaniacal mastermind of the Decepticon army and he has tons of personality & layers, so why not his heroic nemesis as well? I feel like maybe they write Prime the way they do as an excuse to try to force Bumblebee into the spotlight, or perhaps because some modern writers just don't understand him as a character. As for Elita, she should have her own strengths as well, but I too prefer her as Optimus Prime's lover as opposed to the "edgy" extremist they turn her into in IDW, that character was so different she might as well have been a brand new character altogether.
Being Stoic does not equal boring. In Prime he did express emotions but he needed to keep them in check but on a few occasions he let them come out like when Megatron almost killed Raff
I didn’t say it did. I said it CAN do, and I only meant it can if not handled properly.
Prime Optimus still has some stylings of dad Optimus. He's probably the best G1-like Optimus coz he's bereaved and stoic, but not inhumanly so, but there's comedy in him being such.
Plus, he's still actually as dad like as he can be, such as with Raf wanting to experience snow.
He just needs other characters to play off as.
And that's where having an Elita to an Optimus similar to Prime-verse as a foil would be so helpful. She's less girlfriend and more of partner...which is honestly a better foundation for being lovers. They play off each other in interactions, and overall he's the dad, she's the mom

Elita One is one of the coolest Transformers. Leading a small team with guerrilla war tactics to antagonize and destroy Shockwave back on Cybertron while always being loyal to the Autobot cause
She gives me vibes of the Russian 588 Squadron, which carried out nuisance raids on German facilities in WW2. The mostly female flying squad became known as the Nachtvexen, or Night Witches.

Huh it’s a surreal feeling to imagine Optimus ever being in love cause he’s usually portrayed as so dedicated to the cause he has no time for interpersonal relationships. I’d like for a show to end Optimus’ story as him retiring & living out the rest of his days peacefully with Elita-1 as his successor leads the Autobots on his place.

Elita-1 will be one of the legendary female Transformers just like Arcee and many other. I appreciate Netflix including her in the Transformers: War for Cybertron series which she was a total badass.
Sadly, she is dead. Honestly I find elita character always end up with tragic and her love story with optimus are more tragic.
It make me no want seeing they're love story because I know it will end up tragic. Let's hope transformers one film her story is not tragic

I heard there was apparently a deleted scene from an episode of Transformers Prime that would’ve had Ratchet (during the episode where he’s roided out on Synthetic Energon) mention that Optimus had failed to save Elita at one point during the war. Optimus would’ve lost his cool, which is exactly why it was cut and replaced with him mentioning Cliffjumper to piss off Arcee instead.
I just watched that episode, talk about missed opportunity.
I think she’s so cool in war for cybertron. You can see her internal conflict when she questions different aspects of optimus’s leadership, and in earthrise when megatron is trying to turn her to the dark side, you can tell that there is a part of her that goes along with what he’s saying. Such a cool complex character imo
One thing (the only thing) the wfc trilogy did well is give some of its characters depth. I actually started to understand megatrons views and question optimus myself even though I knew megatrons plan to use the allspark was bad. And elita 1 was amazing, not just conflicted about which side is correct but also conflicted between persevering or giving up on the hopeless war. Her motivations are intriguing. Meanwhile you've got characters like optimus who has as much depth as a paddling pool. It's just "freedom is the right of all sentient beings" on repeat. Change the record prime
It should be noted that Elita-1's name was originally meant to be a homage to the Gobot's commander, Leader-1 and was (at least originally) intended to be spelled in the same manner.
I'm glad Elita-1's starting to be more of a regular character nowadays or really every other female TF that hasn't gotten much exposure in the brand's history till in recent years. She's too cool a character not to use and has a lot of potential. :)
As for my first exposure it was through Animated cause at the time I wanted to check out Animated because it had BW characters that I grew up in it so yeah.
Orion Zaxas' animations are may favorite take on the relationship between Optimus and Elita.

I learned about Elita when I did research on Arcee. I was never super interested in her, but she’s pretty cool.
My favorite Elita 1 is the movie Elita 1. I think the backstory is interesting and the design for the robot is really intriguing. A lot of people I know say it’s stupid, but I dont care, I like it. It’s very memorable if you ask me.
I wish movie elita and her sisters had been given more screen time because you're right, her design is intriguing and it's so unique. We always get humanoid transformers or ones that resemble animals but the sisters were different and fun. Plus, their combined mode had potential.
I think I first heard about elita 1 from the Netflix wfc trilogy which, despite being terrible, had a really interesting b story following elita and her team on cybertron. I didn't get it at the time but they pay homage to her g1 self with the guerilla tactics she uses while freeing prisoners
My favorite Elita One is G1. Then comes the comics. I would love if they made comics with Elita and Optimus falling in love.

I'm particularly fond of the new incarnation of Elita in Transformers: Earthspark, which combined the G1 and some parts of the IDW character to create an Optimus Prime lover but with a love of brawling and fighting.
I missed the love story between Optimus and Elita. But it didn't come to be since romance between robots seemed unacceptable for American audience. Oh well.

I just want an Elita 1 that loves Optimus Prime and stands for justice and right not someone who struggles with making the right decision.

I really like Elita. I just wish her to be given a more important roles in fixion:
Her g1 version has good foundations but beyond that there is not much.
Her movie version stands out more in comics (like almost everyone else).
I loved her, for the most part, in animated, although I did not like the idea of merging her with blackarña.
In the comics the ones that stood out the most were in Dreamwave Productions where it seemed to be part of something bigger and the (canceled) solicitude seemed to point to a strong introduction to eventually lead to a more g1 status.The IDW version is fine but it was introduced as an antagonist until practically its end (with zero connections with optimus).
Well lets hope the Netflix series shows how things will go for them

I think I like the G1 Elita One, 'cause seriously, Optimus Prime needs a romance story and if it isn't Arcee, then like Chris says here, she's the "one and only" for him.
I first encountered Elita-1 when I bought the toy on my 18th birthday, when the Power of The Primes toyline was going on.I really like her character in some of her more recent tales and stories as she is a strong and capable character. If only a little strict in times of duress.
I love the idea they did for elita one in animated, and I love that she returned in the siege show.
First exposure to G1 Elita for me was in the Earth Wars mobile game, where me getting the character by chance eventually led me to buy the PotP toy as the game character was based on it. I like how the Earth Wars bio portrays her as still being a cunning leader and a warrior while still having complications about her relationship with Optimus.
But the character name I first saw in Animated.

Elita is one of my favorite Bots, she's actt the reason why I started drawing Cybertron to begin with and I'm glad I did
Every king needs a queen I honestly would like to see them explore that aspect with a Elita and Optimus. Maybe also give her an artifact of the Primes to guard/Use sparingly.
On a sidenote would be interesting if their relationship resulted in a unique combination as a result.

Loved your video! I first found out about Elita in 07 from G1! She reminded me so much of myself. That in 2010 I decided to change my name to Elita One it took at least a year and a half to approve my name in court and then at the end of 2012 I got my named approved. :3 she is and always will be my favorite fembot!

I heard that Elita was originally gonna be in Transformers Prime. In the episode, "Stronger, Faster" when Ratchet was berating Optimus, where he was talking about how how could've had the chance to defeat Megatron...and he was about to say something among the lines of, "... Where's Elita now?" and Optimus loses it and hits Ratchet.
But that part of the story was scrapped due to the writers not wanting Optimus to be out of character and that would mean adding more plot to the storyline or something.
I think they should've had that scene. It would've shown that Optimus can lose his cool is you push the wrong buttons, and give more insight of his past as he wasn't always what he is now.
Optimus inserted his cable into elita and he said "ahhh" in the cartoon. Fact!!

Fact: Elita 1 ALMOST got mentioned in TFP season 1 episode Stronger, Faster. It was on the original script that had to be deleted cause Ratchet mentioned it to Optimus and blamed him for her death, that ended up Optimus punched Ratchet. ( you can understand more on TFWiki)

Honestly, that's unnecessary fridging that didn't really need to be included considering the Autobots already lost Cliffjumper (whom we've already seen and get to know for a short while before his untimely death), and Megatron has a long list of heinous crimes to back up Ratchet's point.

I first discovered Elita One in 2014. I was officially into the franchise and I happened to run into the original G1 show. I remember watching G1 all night and watching episodes like "Autobot X". Eventually, I ran into an episode called "The search for Alpha Trion" and that's when I first saw her. Her name got stuck in my head for over 3 years. Eventually in the summer of 2017, I decided to re-watch the series, and that's when I saw "The search for Alpha Trion" again. As a tribute to Elita One and Optimus Prime, I made clay models of them to reunite the couple after 9,000,000 years of civil war.
I really enjoy the bases of elita-1 and my first elita-1 encounter wasn't animated which was a tragic story and I really hope you could do the bases on Ratchet cuz ratchet is my favorite character in Transformers

Elita One also appears in the War for Cybertron trilogy of cartoons, which puts a new spin on the G1 story of her being left behind on Cybertron while also ending with tragedy.
I liked her in G1, and would love to see a toy based on her G1 look.

Well Wheelie had parents and he may not be the only Cybertronian to have parents. Most don't have one, but I don't believe that Wheelie is the only Cybertronian to have parents. Matter of fact he's not the only one tfwiki.net/wiki/Relatives#Parents_and_children
I would love to see more Cybertronian parents. I mean Lithonians get to be mothers and fathers ( and no they're not part organic), so why not Cybertronians? However I would love that if most aren't parents and/or don't have parents themselves, like 10-30%.

However, I'm more fascinated by her depiction in the ROTF comics with Chromia and Arcee. Together, they sound a lot like DC's Triplicate Girl.
I'm gonna have Elita in a role similar to her Generation 1 debut as the leader of an all-female splinter faction of Transformers, Autobot and Decepticon.

When I was a kid, and when I watched transformers animated, and when I saw elita-1 I thought to myself " isn't that a female bumblebee?" Because that's what she looked liked to me as a kid.

I remember not liking that there were “female” transformers (I felt the same about older transformers that had older features) However I also remember absolutely LOVING Elita One and her crew as a kid so much so I thought they were in the cartoon more than one episode
Honestly one of my favorite interpretations of Elita is Black Archnea, it added so many depths to both her and Optimus

Elita One has been always my favourite female Transformer. Maybe because she was the first one to appear or maybe because she has a cool head which looks like a pair of headphones with radio incorporated. Anyway, I don't know why Arcee has always had more prominence.

I don't think that purple bike was really Elita. The three bikes seemed like they were supposed to be one individual, and I recall one of the hit cards from transformers 4 showing her with the last 2, or 3 letters of 'Arcee' visible as the name.

In relation to the Transformers The Movie, it is safe to assume that Elita 1 and the other Female Autobots were slaughtered by the Deceptions before taking over Cybertron. Or it could also safe to assume that the Decepticons executed the Female Autobots after taking over.
G1 Elita and her group were awesome and I'm forever bitter we got to see frigging Daniel's dreamland and parallel universe adventures rather than theirs.
And Elita/Blackarachnia is and was still tragic. Revive TFA to bring her closure, Hasbro!

I always have this story in my mind that Orion Pax, Elita-1 and Megatron were a trio from the Autobot Elite Guard. One day, Megatron betrays the Autobots and ends up killing Elita in front of Orion, that is killed by him too.
