Funny story. I watched the episode she appeared in when I was just getting into mint chocolate ice-cream (I was very young at the time), and her colour scheme reminded me of said ice-cream. That is literally the only reason I liked her as a kid, and only now do I like her for her character.

I really like Moonracer. As much as as I love that Chromia has become a bigger character, I honestly prefer Moonracer. No idea why, as she's barely had much time to show her personality, but from what we've seen, I like it. I also like her colour scheme.

I was a little pissed at how casually she was brought in and discarded.
That because arcee is the only female character they care about.

Seems like the only females character they care about is arcee the most overrated character ever.
Such a shame Moonracer and her gang never featured in G1 season three. Their aesthetic and back-story would have fit it well.
Imagine reaction of some of them. Some like elita lost their boyfriends do to siege of autobot city and later elita sees a zombie optimus. Imagine what a emotional punch is to her, seeing her love become a zombie and seeing how he attacks adders autobots.
That would have nicely enhanced the disturbing vibes of that episode. Maybe she could have been instrumental in bringing Prime down, coz it was a bit beyond what Hot Rod could manage.

To be fair in the 80’s Transformers was seen as a “Boys Toy”.
But I’ll be honest. I do believe Transformers was made richer by their inclusion.

Her and Firestar are probably the most obscure female autobots, but both are cool characters.

I kind of hope someday Elita-One and her crew will get more recognition and importance to the story, in future TF media.
I like the idea of her being a Wrecker and maybe a new incarnation can have her, Chromia, and Firestar, be part of the crew before joining Elita-One as another branch of Wreckers.
Similar to how in TF Prime, Bulk-head, Wheeljack, and other Wreckers came under Ultra Magnus's command.
...and now I somehow picture a ship between Moon Racer and Bulk-head

Basics of Cibertronian Colonies??
I want to know more about these planets, especially Velocitron. :)
Velocitron in the comics was basically the same as it was in Transformers Cybertron, so just watch the Velocitron centered episodes. But yeah, an episode covering non-Cybertron cybertronian worlds would be cool.
IDW had quite a few, so here's a quick rundown of those that I can remember:
Velocitron, a planet obsessed with speed and racing.
Eukaris, a planet where everyone has beast modes.
Caminus, a planet which has a lot of cityspeakers (transformers who can communicate with titans).
There are a few more, but I can't remember the names, so I'll tell you what makes them special: the planet of twins where everyone transforms into only half an alt mode, and I think one where everyone is a mini con.

They really loved using that Energon Arcee toy to recolor.
It was one of the only transforming fembot toys at the time, so you can't really blame them for milking it to its core.
Love Moonracer's colors and design! I'm glad that she's managed to get a small time in the limelight! However, it's odd that a generic Siege Chromia recolor was included on this list at the end. ;)

In my dream she helped me by teaming up with perseptor to stop novamos from going in and steel the omega core and she and perseptor was on chs roof and I was offline for reboot because him novamos and I was able to be back online and she shot terradaxs mask and put him into stasis mode

That Power of the Primes toy made me like Moonracer, who I really didn't care about before then. It's just so pretty!
I can see her characterization in the G1 series being adapted to make her the sort of little sister type to, say, Bumblebee: just as eager, cheerful and bantering as Bee, but more likely to take a wrong step given her impatience. Hoping to see more of her in new shows (haven’t watched EarthSpark yet, so jury’s out).
I would love an episode on Chromia! Great job on all your content. I love getting caught up on all the versions of Transformers that I don't know!

Well, the g1 cartoon doesn't constitute all of the franchise. Whether they appeared in the show or not, if they didn't have any major role in more than two other transformers continuities, then they're an obscure character.

Well we don't actually know how much time passes between episodes. So Powerglide and Moonracer could've split after they realised that their relationship couldn't work when they were light years apart, and Powerglide drowned his sorrows at Maccadam's before meeting the squishy female alien in the next episode.
Damn, I really need to get into the comics IDW(wish I knew where to start cause I know it’s been going for AWHILE), cause I love the art of it! So many of the characters look so expressive, and in Moonracer’s case, adorable!
As someone who's read all the comics and barely remembers them because of the confusing order I read them in, my personal suggestion would be Megatron Origin. However, there is a list of the comics on Wikipedia, so going through it and determining a starting point yourself would be a good idea.

FINALLY!!! My favorite fembot, and one of my favorite autobots (top three are Moonracer, Blaster and Perceptor). I hope to see more of her in upcoming transformers media.
I think the only other female autobots left without a spotlight video of their own are Chromia and Firestar. I would certainly love to see that if it ever happens.
There is also Lancer, but she is ao obscure it took decades for her to get named to begin with
I've always wondered if "The Search for Alpha Trion" may have been originally written with Sunstreaker instead of Powerglide?
(Since Elita-1, Chromia, and Firestar's names all match up with Optimus Prime, Ironhide, and Inferno's, but "Moonracer" and "Powerglide" aren't similar at all.)

Couldnt help but notice that this underrated character that gets no attention, shafted, or violently killed...is a character known for generally optimistic, naive and bubbly.
A point made on how war affects innocent souls, or the writers bring cruel? You make the call.

It's a result of writers wanting to kill off a named character to trigger an emotional response from the audience, but not wanting to take any main or well known characters off the show.

i always loved moonracer too as a kid i said hey if powerglide has a other girl ill take moonracer she is also my fave colors the aqua cyan minty colors the car original mode her original form is always awesome and amazing and i too want this figure so badly hasbro please bring back the original female autobots alita-1's team especially moonracer this is one of my goals in life to have this transformer and the set of them as combiner formers too, and also in that series id find her spark and recreate a ultraformer body for her as a sweet lambo in the aqua cyan colors and along of my oc fanmade transformers i drew back a few years ago dragonfly a multiformer would be her companion friend.
In the next obscure characters month (or Prime month if you end up having that), it'd be neat to see Liege Maximo.
There should be a series dedicated to just female Transformers (TV or comics)! I would love to see that right now!
25th Comment! Moonracer should have had her opportunity to shine in the War for Cybertron Siege Netflix Series. Sadly, she did not but IDW did very well with her!
Sadly she was already killed off during the mission to find Allspark by the hands of the Rusticons.
I kinda want a sort of either spin-off or short series focusing on the female transformers. Obscure and well known, learning more about who they are and gaining greater strength.
Hope we see more of her in future TF stories.
Obscure Characters Month shows what strange paths characters can take in this franchise, whether it be growing from bit parts or being completely outside the toy lines/comics/shows and migrating their way in.
