Had a real tough time trying to find a way round this cortina, 998cc imp power doing me proud.
New super lightweight flywheel and race clutch fitted this time from TTV racing.
Also need a dog box really, car was jumping out of 3rd under load which was pretty horrible, had to drive a lot of it one handed holding it in gear.

Imps are rapid bits of machinery in the right hands. ✅ to think that's a sub 1 litre engine designed 60 years ago !!! You were all over that ford and if you had even a slight bit more power he wouldn't stand a chance. 👌
is that the std c/r box i run a ginetta g15 in the states with a so called c/r box it has a 3 k rev drop ??, it drops off the cam ,looking for info and a little help
On grip and traction, the Cortina is seriously outclassed by the Imp but those extra cc are difficult to argue with!
Fair do's that was an epic race! Great soundtrack too.
Given the extra power of the Ford Lotus Cortina I'd argue that you were impressive just holding it, never mind looking for an overtake. That said you did lap that first A40, M*n* and Spridget? at about the same time.
I think you need a lower top gear.
Yeah ok, a wee bit of a gap but does he really wanna lose even more top speed?
Good video but couldn't see much of the action. Would have been much better with the camera mounted nearer the windscreen.
