  • Walking through on how to install the ProTaper Honda Mini Bars onto the Honda Grom. Also how to mark and properly drill your bars for the controls so you can use them as Honda intended without modifying them. We're using a customers SF Grom, but this is the same install for an OG, SF, and the new 2022 Groms. Also, the install will be pretty much the same for different variations of bars. If you have any questions leave them down in the comments below and I'll try to answer them. Lastly, don't forget to hit that subscribe button!

Just a tip for anyone doing this on there grom if your using the pro tapers there’s no need to drill your hole all the way through, I just put the klx110 bars on and there 5mm thick so just drill deep enough for the nipple to sit in :)

Thanks for the video. What are the torque specs for the four headset bolts?

Nicely done! Would those KLX bars and 1 “ risers be to tall for the cables?

No risers on these and these are the Honda mini bars so shorter than stock. However, I had the klx 110 bars on my OG Grom and they were fine. I have heard the SF ones can be a little tight. You need to slightly reroute your clutch cable.

If they’re too tight and keep stripping pick yourself up an impact driver. You can find them usually cheap at any store that sells tools or amazing. Not to be confused with an impact gun or wrench. It has bits like a screwdriver and you hit it with a hammer. It forces it in to keep contact and turns at the same time. Wonders for stuck screws.

@TGOD8888 You take a pair of vice grips and clamp onto where the screw screws into on the handlebar and turn it back and forth. It breaks the locktite and will loosen everything up and screw will come out easily

The main reason honda put the when there is probably to make sure the controls are at the right angle everytime.

I agree and so they don’t slip, but whichever it is Honda put it there for a reason so I like to put it back.
