Burlington Industries building demolition, May 23, 2005 (audio only)

  • at 10:00 AM EDT on May 23, 2005, the Burlington Industries building on West Friendly Ave. in Greensboro, NC was imploded to make way for a shopping center.
    My mother was a former Burlington Industries employee in the '80s, so I went with her to the site, and recorded this with my admittedly quite budget rig -- a Sony MD-R700 paired with an Audio Technica ATR-25. The entire recording setup cost me about $200 in 2001.
    It was later processed to slightly widen the stereo image, among other things.
    No video, unfortunately, just audio.
    The recording starts just before the two minute warning horns sound.
    I only found one other clip of this on CZcams recorded from a cheap camera.
