- KLAS-TV has changed over its 70 years, and so has the thing Las Vegas is known for worldwide, the Las Vegas Strip. However, to create the Strip that we all know today it had to get rid of the old one.
Originally people thought Circus Circus or Excalibur would be next but it seems like Tropicana made it to the chopping block first. I believe circus circus will be around for a long time now
Ikr and the best part is
It’s still alive in 2024 bro like…
Circus circus really missed it old friends over the years
One never knows, Excalibur (and maybe the Luxor) could be next as Bally’s could buy them out and make it as part of the baseball stadium plans
@@emvvehicles_8 Ballys has no money lol
@@emvvehicles_8 Excalibur is owned by Vici Properties, with operations in the hands of MGM Resorts.
So for Bally's to buy them out would be next to impossible.
Hopefully so my Uncle's Good Friend Jay Sarno Built it !! My Favorite Hotel hope it's around Forever !! Met a Cool Girl that used to work in the Auction there many years ago !! loved Tonya the Elephant and the Acts going on !!
For those that are here after the Tropicana resort closed its doors

Miss old Vegas!
1:29 For those who don't speak Spanish 'El Rancho' means "The Rancho".
@@HTAMTCO. 👈☝️Doesn't get the joke. 🤣 Then thumbs up his own comment.
@@HTAMTCO. give mommy her phone back.
Lol
The El Rancho that was imploded in 2000 is not the same El Rancho Vegas resort that was the first resort on Highway 91. El Rancho Vegas opened in 1941 and burned down in 1960, it was located on the southern portion of the Las Vegas Festival Grounds. The El Rancho that was imploded in 2000 was across the street where Fontainebleau is opening.
And for those who don't speak Spanish El Rancho means The Rancho. Glad I could help.
The Sahara hotel not Fontainebleau
Next on the list is the Tropicana.
And rio
Denise Valdez is BEAUTIFUL!
The Tropicana could soon be next.
It will be in 2024 or '25. Assuming the MLB A's get approved to move to Las Vegas
Trop closed for good on the 2nd. Final demolition in October.
@@linkfan95 I was following up on that.
The site of riviera and Frontier were never utilized so just empty space now on the strip
Happy 70th Anniversary KLAS
Good thing there are no more old hotels
There's still some downtown: for example, the El Cortez. But sadly, if people wanted to stay in old hotels, then there'd be old hotels in Vegas. People want fancy, high-tech, modern luxury hotels, so that's what they get.
The Tropicana will be next
The Riviera was the location where filming of the 1980s georgious ladies of wrestling or GLOW tv show was filmed.....

When the buildings and landmark destroyed?

Hi Dad you wore your white suit
You blocked yourself in as if you didn’t have more room. The city grew but your streets didn’t expand.
