- The construction of a Major League Baseball stadium for the Athletics franchise on the Las Vegas Strip could be one step closer, according to an analyst working for the organization.
Can't believe we are taking away a historic landmark, which is a glimpse of Las Vegas culture and history, just to give a hand-me-down California team a stadium
Once the stadium nears completion and the team is preparing to move in there will be new owners. The team will have a new name, new management and a new team on the field. There will be enough money available to almost guarantee a winning team.
I'm against the entire thing, especially the public money, but this is all very obvious.
What makes tropicana a historic landmark?
@@thepriceiswrong9527 as a Vegas native I would wholeheartedly call a structure of this magnitude a piece of history. Built in the 50s and a staple of the prime of our city. All I'm saying is, you could TOTALLY put it elsewhere where it won't continue to overcrowd the strip and not replace Vegas history with Cali's discarded teams

I'd rather keep the Tropicana Hotel. It's been a fixture on the Las Vegas Strip since 1957.

It won't. The deal relies on ditching a huge job and tax creator, for something that creates relatively few jobs and costs the tax payer a fortune. They're going to the Rio, and I have no clue why they're dicking everybody around with this wheeler-dealer bullcrap.
This will project, which includes a casino hotel, will likely be bankrupt soon after it opens due to its high interest debt load, hotel room over- capacity and inflated revenue projections.

Tropicana was going to be demolished no matter what, so don't think for a moment that the A's are in any way to blame for that. Yes, that resort has a stored history, but it's a dump that needs to be rebuilt.

Such a shame to see a historic hotel go maybe the people of Las Vegas should fight to get that building on the national registry of historic places or maybe connect the new stadium to the existing Tropicana they could call it Tropicana Field it would bring lots of business and the Tropicana would go under a major expansion and renovation
There's already a Tropicana Field "The Trop" in St. Petersburg, FL. Naming the new stadium to that would confuse many people, baseball fan or not.

Not with taxpayers' money. What do the stadiums bring to Las Vegas? poverty, bug beds, low quality teams. No money, only traffic problems with low-rate teams that nobody wants to watch. Rebuild the ballpark that is existent with their own money. Not in the strip. Plant the trees in Bellagio. Money is better spent in our schools, Las Vegas. Our streets are full of path holes.
Why? Literally for a boring ass sport, NO ONE likes baseball. So stupid. They should just build off strip like they were going to.
