    Since this changes the hose position from vertical to horizontal, you would have to plan ahead during the design stage of the build Incase you plan on adding these latter, to prevent hose binding as remote is mounted vertical. Perhaps a brass 90 degree would make this add on much easier after the initial install. Question; Why are the “Terms” compression and extension (Rebound) not a common word used to describe the shocks action? Maybe I miss understood but the vocal description used in the many videos as this was the only description used during decades of diagnostics for feel, activity or noise. Now, with adjustable control for compression, rebound is changed I would guess inside at the piston.
    (As a tech Tip) I would politely push the use of anti-seize on coil over spring seat especially but also, work a “Q-tip” or pocket screwdriver and get some on the “Heim Joint” ball ends for movement but dissimilar metals. True, depending on use, it could attract dust & dirt, but is easy to clean with carb spray, compressed air & rag wrap to catch this grease w/aluminum dust they may use. It is simple maintenance like a grease gun. Desert Storm, helicopters had to have covers installed to keep sand out as wear happened fast. Just 38+ years of experience talking out loud, but I do like the “King” equipment! My wallet, not so much. My wife spends more in a year on hair spray and her maintenance items that leave men with 1 square foot of bathroom countertop! Why? Yes dear...

    Nice explanation of how these work. Would you be able to make a video on how to install them?? I'm gonna buy these for my 2016 Tacoma which has the oem kit with resi. I should have gotten them with adjusters in the first place. If you show me how to install them I will buy them from ya ;)

    • @Filthymotorsports

      It covers the full range but offers the most benefits at higher speeds and larger forces.

    Would you recommend the adjustable shocks for a truck that tows sometimes and does everyday driving unloaded as well?

    • @ShockSurplus
      @ShockSurplus Před rokem

      definitely some benefit here, we sell adjustable shocks to these applications so drivers can firm up the rear while loaded, noticeable difference and advantage.

  • @ChristopherOvrebo
    @ChristopherOvrebo Před 7 lety +2

    So I'm adding these to my shocks. Should I just make my compression stack super soft, since like you said the adjuster sort of takes the place of it?

    • @Filthymotorsports
      @Filthymotorsports  Před 7 lety +2

      Correct, the existing piston compression valving should be made softer when adding adjusters.

    • @Filthymotorsports
      @Filthymotorsports  Před 5 lety +5

      Thanks for the question! That depends on a lot of variables but in general (and I mean really generally speaking) we see softer settings for the street and firmer setting off-road.

    I have a set of kings without adjusters and kind of wish I went adjusters because on road is very stiff. Does the adjusters make them much softer over non-adjustable ones?

    • @ShockSurplus
      @ShockSurplus Před rokem +1

      Depends on the application, we find a lot of the firmness is mis-associated to the shocks, rather than the springs supporting the vehicle. IE a Tacoma owner went with too high a spring rate on their coilovers, or preloaded too much to gain ride height, both can result in a firmer ride that the shock will be hard-pressed to fix.

    Also, is there a way to purchase all the items used to take apart and assemble coilovers?
