17 years ago when the market collapsed, I thought Mazda being a small automobile manufacturer had no future but they just been thriving
They are no longer part of the ford umbrella that’s why
they got some good quality, nissan has no good quality their rogue price tag is just crazy high for something you will need to make heavy repairs to at 150k
Because of Toyota, Toyota bailed Mazda out of bankruptcy.
Not true actually.
@@dennishughes721No. Mazda bought themselves out before they even got with Toyota, and the small 5% toyota owns of mazda is only worth sharing parts. Literally Mazda is the only manufacturer Japan has always refused to bail out, and yet they're doing better now regardless. Can't say the same for Nissan or Mitsubishi who did get bailed out by Gov. money. Toyota takes care of themselves.
I remember when they where just saying Toyota was wrong for choosing hybrids over full evs
they are literally losing market share in the largest auto market China to byd and others

I trust Toyota more than any other brand.
Mazda needs to be given props. A small manufacturer like them has always managed to stay afloat. Back in the financial crisis, when Ford nearly went belly up and sold its shares, a small brand like Mazda should’ve went defunct, and yet here they are.
Mazda engineering is top notch and quality conscious. I enjoy their style and driving characteristics over Toyota.
@@kurtgrundel4045Me too. Toyota is still good, but Mazda takes it to craftsmanship level.
The world as a whole bought 75.3 million new cars in 2023… the toyota group was responsible for 11.2 million of them. 1 in almost 7 cars bought was a toyota product.
N it was the same story last year. 1 in almost 7 cars bought in 2022 was a toyota product.
Holy fck.
But real players are only Toyota, VW, Hyundai-Kia
Nissan's merger with Renault was a mistake.....it ruined the Japanese quality imago of Nissan.
In hindsight, yes, the RNM Alliance can be safely called a mistake. But back then Nissan was on the verge of extinction due to debt, and Renault buying them was a life-saver.
Renault's financial help prompted Nissan to launch many good products, such as the 350Z/370Z, GT-R, FX, G, M. None of those would've existed without Renault's financial backup.
@@philhenderson3516 but you make money with a Sunny, Micra, etc etc. They, Renault, neglected these segments, at least in Europe.
Exactly they are seen as a French car with a Japanese badge here in Europe now.
@@avdp9095 I think the mistake was in Nissan not looking for ways to become independent once they became profitable and could pay Renault back. Mazda bought itself out from Ford and it has done wonders for them, I think Nissan should've attempted to do the same. Problem is, I don't think Renault had any interest in letting go of Nissan and that's probably why everything has gone downhill for both. Too much internal contention.
Maybe it's bias, I'm seeing so many Toyotas on the road, where before they were pretty rare in my neck of the woods. They are killing it in Europe.
you are probably confusing toyota with hyundais. toyota caught up and now has same marketshare as hyundai in EU. but Hyundai still is ahead in extended european region
@@uludak8468 Well, both. Hyundai's and Kia's are everywhere as well, but that's less surprising.
Maybe when a customer buys a new car, they don't want to pay another $10,000 every 10 years for a new transmission?
Who knew?
10 years? More like 2-5 years depending on how much you drive. Toyota is the way to go if you don't wanna get hit with a $10,000 repair bill or get left stranded in the middle of nowhere at 1am at night waiting for a tow truck.
Toyota is killing it!!!!!
They're actually killing themselves.

Upcoming Armada and Kicks will hopefully help them. Bring back the XTerra Nissan.
Nissans problem is self inflicted. Go to any major dealer lot no matter the brand. You will find 2021-2023 Altimas and Sentras on the lot with low milage and if you check the carfax they will all be former rental cars. Why buy a new one even at discount when you can get a gently used one for cheaper?

Coming from someone in the automotive industry I can tell you that Nissan has huge inventory on most of its lots. Like triple digit inventory!
I’m also in the industry and the nearest two Nissan dealers have had low inventory for months while the ford dealer NEXT DOOR is overflowing with inventory.
Nissan has that ARC Strategy. Let’s let that kick in and see how it goes. So far, every model in the upcoming ARC lineup is what Nissan needs to make a comeback. And Nissan is doing well in the rest of the world.
if you look at the new Toyota products coming out, they are all priced above competition. Toyota is cashing in on their reputation for reliability. It's like MSRP hardly matters if you are buying a product that lasts for decades and holds it value really well. Their profit margins must be huge!

The New Kicks should be a relative hit for Nissan. They should sell the Sentra SR in the USA with the manual transmission (like they do in Canada) and try to go back to their econo-enthusiast roots. Also, the Nissan Leaf was relatively popular for those wanting a cheap EV. They should have done more with the Leaf, including maybe making a hybrid version. I sell Toyotas in the great state of Maine, and for some people Toyota is an aspirational brand. Most people would rather buy a low trim Toyota, then a fully loaded Nissan because it’s a smart choice.
I'm shopping for a new vehicle and at the top of my list is the 2025 Camry; however, as they are now trickling into dealerships, Redditors are posting window stickers showing markups of $5k over MSRP. Based on the information in this video, Toyota has no incentive to "make a deal" since people are gladly paying the markup price on these vehicles. My next option is the 2024 Sonata. Look at Kelly blue book. Set range to 400-500 miles. I find them 3k below msrp if you are willing to drive a bit. In some models I see up to 6k below msrp. Just gotta be willing to go out of your way. Make sure to look at the state sales tax if you buy out of state.
About three years ago, Japanese government wanted Honda and Toyota to buy out Renault’s share of Nissan. I never heard anything else about this potential buyout. Many decades ago, Nissan (Datsun) was actually much larger than Toyota.

Nissan offers a slew of e-power models in other markets, so it's quite puzzling, if not concerning, that they choose not to offer any in the US. Is there something inherently wrong with the technology that's to blame why they're not bringing it to the highly regulated but also highly litigious US? Because it simply doesn't make sense that they're struggling this badly, with market conditions ripe for hybrid offerings, yet they are steadfast in their flawed strategy.
The e-power is coming to the US but not for at least two years. They’re going to be too late to the game.

I just want Toyota to make reliable and affordable vehicles
Whos still buying the the part shortage excuse used to explain the current very low Toyota days supply numbers despite being now almost halfway 2024? I sense an intentionally limited production strategy intended to avoid incentivising discounts below MSRP and the need to sell more volume. They want to make sure people have fewer options hence leading people to pay the full MSRP. Even if you wait til 2025 or 2026, dealers will still be asking you to be on a waiting list for a standard Toyota model.
The better Toyota does, the more sick cars they can make. Really excited for the SFR and others!
What I would do if I were in charge of nissan:
-get rid of the infamous CVT
-discontinue the Altima and Rogue to make way for a new fastback Mitsubishi Galant and tough Nissan XTERRA
-market the Versa as a compact “working class car” and revive the hatchback variant (without the Note nickname)
-market the Sentra as Nissan’s family sedan, offer AWD and an off road variant to give Subaru a taste of what they’re throwing away
-make the New Kicks have a more down-sloped hood
-Frontier and Pathfinder would basically be stablemates
Nissan crossover and SUV models with their V6 have all been excellent. They are being totally let down by their dogshit 4 cylinder and now 3 cylinder cars like Juke, Rouge, and their sedans aren't great either. It looks like they aren't expecting to be a juggernaut in the hybrid business and are mostly going straight from I.C.E. cars to EV's.
I have not seen anything at Nissan Dealerships that looks like they want to sell at invoice
In a way there is a bright side for Nissan in the long run. The vehicles that they have reworked since Ghosn sent himself same day shipping have been successful, so if they can survive long enough to rework the rest of their lineup they could be good again...right?
Their new pathfinder can go anywhere commercial is a joke
Maybe if Nissan made their current crop like they used to make the 2005 FX35 I’d be interested

The new Patrol/Armada will give Toyota a really hard time to say the least.
So what about buying used Nissan EVs? It would be used so you wouldn't take that big of a hit on depreciation compared to buying new and there's no CVT so that wouldn't be an issue.
As a lifelong Nissan fan, it hurts my heart to see what’s happening. Unless Nissan makes some serious changes, and quick, people like me are going to be switching to Toyota.
Nissan has the ARC Strategy. They’ll be fine.
Looks like Nissan is "killing it" too
TOKYO (AP) - Nissan’s profit for the fiscal year through March jumped 92% to 426.6 billion yen ($2.7 billion) as sales grew in all major global markets except China, the Japanese automaker said Thursday.
Annual sales surged nearly 20% to 12.7 trillion yen ($81.5 billion), Nissan Motor Co. said.
The first three quarters of FY24 were good to them. FY25 I'm worried for the Nissan... and Tesla, etc.
Yeah, they are selling e-power in every other country except the US.
Sienna production going back to Japan Kirk?
We'll see!
They're going to need that head start now that they are replacing the V6 with turbo 4 banger
Toyota has downgraded their production forecast and profit because of Daihatsu scandal and huge investments in bev production and models.
“Down in Europe” 💀💀💀
Someone on youtube said the fact that Nissan is owned by Renault means the Nissan products have a lot of Renault parts in them which is a BAD thing because French cars are poorly designed and unreliable.
But Nissan, Mazda and Subaru have similar principles regarding electrification, yet Mazda and Subaru are very successful. That is Carlitos’ legacy based on cheap, mediocre and basic engineering. Every time I see a Versa I remember that.
Mistake # 1 by Nissan (Japanese Chrysler). Nissan should have kept the brand name Datsun in the U.S.! You lost me at the brand name Nissan. What the hell were they thinking.
