      Pan thanks for giving DIY guys like me the information to work on our cars. I am going to coat 3 vehicles with AvalonKing but I hear the boot spray is difficult what other boost sprays would you recommend to pair with that coating

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Před 2 lety

      @@williammcconico7699 No need to apply three coats. 2 layers is all you need. I didn't have issues with the SiO2 Boost Spray. If you work in proper conditions and don't overapply it should be fine. But you are free to use which ever ceramic topper you want. Check out my 2021 car detailing products awards for my top picks.

      Jon, you weren't suckered into anything. You simply didn't follow the instructions! Once you click the link, you add the product to your cart, and when you checkout, there's a section where it says "Have a promo code?" and that's where you have to enter the PAN25 promo code. I just tried it and it still works great.
      Didn't you read the instructions in the description? Here they are, clear as day:

    This is absolutely fantastic content. One of the things which has stopped me from applying ceramic coating is that I was always worried about what happens at the end of the coating's life. I thought that it was time-consuming (if not expensive) to remove the previous coat. But then you covered this topic in your video and I really appreciate that you did that. Thanks so much! 🍻

    I always learn something from each of your videos, and usually several things. I always thought water beading was more desirable than sheeting. Now I understand why water sheeting is also important. Very important when one lives in a hard water area or access to deionized water is limited. Thank you Pan!

    Geat video as always Pan! Really enjoy your stuff.
    I Used the Avalon King ceramic coating and was really disappointed. I put 2 coats on properly prepared paint and lasted maybe a year if that on my garage kept car. I chemically decontaminated, clayed and one-steped the paint to prep before I rewashed and wiped clean with alcohol. Put 2 coats of @avalonkings ceramic on the paint in 15°C+ in my garage with few hours cure time in between. Yes, it had a nice gloss on the paint and plastics. I took it a step further and added 2 coats of turtle wax HS ceramic spray coat as a topper. Let sit for a week in my garage and didn't get wet. I wash my car 2 times a week properly with ph-neutral soap using safe washing/drying techniques. The coating lasted about a year or so. Have to say I had such high hopes for this product, but really let down. In 20+ years of detailing professionally and my own cars, I have never been so exited about a product and let down so much. Yes, it was cheap and I got it on sale, but I guess you get what you pay for. This spring I'll do it all over most likely with CarPro as I really like thier products or just stick to wet coat and toppers.
    I had Ceramic Pro professionally installed on my summer car and it is a whole other world. It's not cheap, but soooo worth it. 2 years and it's still like the day I got it coated.

    Love your helpful, informative videos from sunny Hawaii! I purchased Adams Advanced Graphene Ceramic kit that I intend to use on a brand new car. As you've advised in your videos, I told the dealer to not coat with any wax or sealant, just wash and polish. The dealer did a great job with paint correction...no swirl marks. I'll decontaminate with iron remover, and even clay bar it...Can I skip the polish step, and go into application of the Adams? Secondly, I have a Tacoma Truck that I've applied Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax. Love it! It beads and sheets water for months, even parked in the sun. I'm planning to use my leftover Adams Advanced Graphene on it, but what do I need to do to insure the Meguiar's Hybrid is removed? Thanks in advance for your reply. Keep up the great work!

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Před 2 lety +1

      If your paint doesn't need claying, skip claying. If you clay, it can do a bit of marring on the surface. So inspect your paint after claying. If it needs a light polish, go ahead. If it looks perfect, you can skip polishing.
      But if you don't do any machine polishing, you have to be 100% sure there was no paint protection applied by the dealership. They usually always apply a cheap wax prior to delivery. If water beads on your paint, it means there's some for of protection on it. If there is no beading, and the water is very slow to sheet off, then it means there is no protection.
      For your Tacoma, the only way to ensure 100% removal of any previous protection is to go through all the paint prep steps, including machine polishing which is the only way to guarantee 100% removal.

    Cheers Pan. I love your videos and I have learned a ton about detailing cars from watching. I have to admit though I’m really frustrated because I am new to detailing. I don’t have any detailing products whatsoever. My Amazon shopping cart is already over $450 and I still haven’t added the pressure washer. I want to do a ceramic coating but by the time I get all the equipment I need I’m probably going to be pretty close to the $1000 mark! I realize that I will be able to use most of the equipment and products to maintain the car in the future. I was forced into buying a brand new vehicle when someone totaled my trusty old truck . I haven’t had a brand new car in 20 years. I want to do this ceramic coating and it seems like it’s easy enough but like you said in your videos, the prep is the hardest part of it. I don’t have a lot of experience in using power tools to polish paint, so I’m wondering if I can skip that step for a new car? I’m pretty confident that I can do everything else like the shampoo, Clay bar treatment , the IPA cleansing, but if I have to add the paint polishing step using the pads and mechanical polishers, that’s where I start to get out of my comfort zone. I have spent many hours watching your videos and I really appreciate the time you take to show the world how to do it right.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks Danny.
      Wipe off time depends on the conditions you work it. It varies according to temperature and humidity. Hence why you look for the rainbow effect. Once you see that color appear it’s time to start leveling the coating (typically 1-2 min).
      Wait 4 hours after your final coat of CQUK 3.0 before you apply Gliss 2.0
      Use pH neutral shampoos for regular maintenance washes. Once in a while you can use higher pH soaps if you need to remove traffic film. CarPro even made a slightly acidic pH shampoo called Descale to help fight water spots.
      Always throw away towels used to apply/remove true coatings in glass bottles.

    THANKS FOR THE VIDEO, always a pleasure to watch and listen. Always very informative. There is a question: IS IT POSSIBLE TO USE CLAY ON A CAR COATED CERAMIC? The car is relatively well-groomed, washed 2-phase with detailers. But the ceramics were external for 1 year ago (in 2 layers), and i see coating is a little tired, but there are still some properties left. In a good lighting, impurities are visible in the form of inclusions that are not captured by irons-of, tar-removers, quick detailers ... I started using carpro reset and CARPro DEscale (once) - it got better, but everything does not disappear. Color black solid, all defects remain visible. I want to try walking with soft clay, for example, Gyeon Mild or the corresponding one, but I don’t want to polish it yet and Ceramic coating again in the near future. Do you or your subscribers have experience, walk soft clay on ceramic coating so as not to demolish the coating. I will be grateful for the answer

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Před rokem +1

      You wouldn't use a claybar on a ceramic coated car, as a claybar is an abrasive and you could potentially damage the coating. We use chemical decontamination on coatings, with different pH levels of shampoos (see my spring refresh tutorial here: czcams.com/video/oTaFE_p2OAw/video.html), and iron removers to remove brake dust and iron particles embedded in the coating/paintwork.
      Some have used a clay towel with a good lubricant (as those generate less marring compared to traditional claybars) but do that at your own risk.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Před 2 lety

      First, watch my video on new car detailing: czcams.com/video/QgoyrC-5CMc/video.html
      So because new cars are never quite new, and because the dealerships usually always apply some cheap wax on the paint prior to delivery, you want to make sure to strip all that off before applying a ceramic coating so yes machine polishing is crucial. With all the other prep steps.
      On a new car, just a light polish is usually enough though. No need for a 2-step unless you see many deeper scratches and swirls which doesn’t seem to be the case according to what you are saying.
      See how I detail a brand new car in this video: czcams.com/video/heHmSOmKfkc/video.html
