  • Hey guys I was pretty excited to finally get my hands on a 2018 Harley Davidson Deluxe and do a full Review it. Has the Awesome Milwaukee Eight motor in it with 108 ft lbs of torque, a seat height of 25.9 inches and a lot more. They didn't do too many major changes of this model which is great because I've always loved the look and the ride of the softail Deluxe. It however has been improved 10 fold with the new monoshock and rides like a dream compared to some of the previous models. Harley Davidson has really done a great job on this bike and I hope you guys get some useful information out of this video. Thanks for watching guys! Stay riding and stay Awesome!

    I bought this beautiful beast 10 days ago. First couple short rides of 20 miles each did little for me. This past Sunday I was able to put about 120 highway miles with various hills, wide sweepers and long straights. I now appreciate this, my first HD. She's a keeper!

    Harley did something right. I gotta say that this bike is crisp, clean, bright, right in proportion. This bike to me is I do not want to add or change or take anything away from it. The kind of bike that even the quiet stock pipes are cool. This thing is just old fashion cool man and inspiring.

    Brother, this video is so helpful. Always liked the look of the deluxe BUT I bought the 2018 low rider and absolutely love it ( bonneville salt pearl) added VH, 4” risers and smoked leds and a cpl other tweeks.... it would’ve been a month to get the deluxe I wanted. ... I was rear ended just nearing 550 miles on bike.
    So thinking of getting a deluxe since a cpl months to get painted parts ,and repaired. I just constantly admire the whole look of the deluxe even though I love mine. Dealer says deluxe won’t have the performance like my 2018 fxlr?? The terms they used were less responsive and softer ride. And that I’d really feel difference. If you’ve ridden the fxlr too ,,,, I’d put more stock in your opinion over theirs...
    Was away from riding for 15 years and a pleasure with the fxlr. Love to pull trigger on a deluxe.. excuse the long comment !!! Ur review and ride got me pumped!,

    • @fastjax
      @fastjax  Před 5 lety +1

      If I were to buy an M8 it would be the FXLR. I absolutely love that bike! Their are a ton of aftermarket and harley performance parts out for it and I think it rides great! I'd have to ditch the handlebars immediately though as I'm not much of a fan of the Bullhorn bars. I like you also love the deluxe and would love the opportunity to build one one day but the way that I ride and the style that I like screams lowrider all day. Personally I wouldnt choose it over the lowrider. In my honest opinion, I'd keep the lowrider. You already have it and it seems like you like it a lot. she will treat you right! when you get a chance google "harley hooligan lowrider". I love that bike!! I'd do something similar. it's black and gold and should be the first to pop up in images.

    I just bought a used one (The exact color and model shown) w/low miles and i love it. THEN…. A few days later as luck would have it (bad luck that is) I learned of the Sumping issue, sounds as if Harley screwed the 17 & 18 model owners, but addressed the issue for later models. Would anyone recommend replacing the oil pump and possibly installing a Vented Dip Stick NOW B4 it has the chance to have an issue with Sumping or Blowback (or
    Lying to do the upgrades as I really really like this bike. My first ride when i hit second gear i thought the bars were going to come out of my hands. This little Bike has some real POWER! This bike comes stock with lots of Chrome as well, but that issue is always in the back of my mind now so I can and am willing to do the upgrades simply for peace of mind. Any mechanics here could comment? Thanks

    I love my Deluxe I have a 2017. I also have a 2017 Street Glide as well and you actually believe that the 2018 Heritage and Deluxe ride better than the Street Glide and/or the Road Glide? Really?? Wow! I don't think you really know what your talking about. Their is NO comparison with the ride of any Softail vs any touring Harley. Touring bikes ride and handle much better than any Softail!

    • @fastjax
      @fastjax  Před 6 lety +10

      You have to think outside your box my friend, their are literally thousands of people who think softails ride better than touring bikes. In this industry you MUST take into consideration that it's peoples opinions that matter and not what YOU think. yes you can ride a touring bike in a straight line all day long and feel great, but a softail handles better, is lighter, and has lower seat heights. All things that people take into consideration when they think of the word "comfort". Your idea of comfort and the next guys are completely different. Wow! guess I do know what I'm talking about.
