    Very good, well detailed video. I'm glad you stated at the end that you had to end up buying a rebuild kit. Whether or not it's needed, it's good insurance.

      what did you do wrong because i recently opened mine up and tried to rebuild it but my atv won’t start the carburetor isn’t getting any fuel through

    • @Yellowdogsworld
      @Yellowdogsworld  Před 2 lety +1

      sounds like the needle might be stuck in the seat, or the float is stuck and not allowing fuel into the float bowl.... give the float bowl a knock or 2 with the butt end of a screw driver.. sometimes that will unstick stuff.

    Just needs a good cleaning.Nail polish remover/acetone is good for cleaning that but...some plastics are sensitive to it so dry them quickly.

  • @ashleywynn4923
    @ashleywynn4923 Před 6 lety

    StarTron is what I use in all my small engines and my outboards. It solves the issues with the ethanol.

    • @Yellowdogsworld
      @Yellowdogsworld  Před 6 lety

      I agree, especially If your machine has any amount of set up time you just about have to use some sort of stabilizer else you get these problems.

    • @ashleywynn4923
      @ashleywynn4923 Před 6 lety

      Yellowdog02 yeah the ethanol attracts water terrible and that causes all that corrosion. Plus on the older stuff, the fuel lines break down from the inside causing all sorts of issues. I've had to change all my fuel lines.

    @ianpitts8582 Před 4 lety

    i noticed the rubber hoses were split should they be replaced ?

    • @Yellowdogsworld
      @Yellowdogsworld  Před 4 lety

      to fix the issue I had with this carb, not necessarily, I think the one that was split was just drain line for the float bowl But If its causing a fuel leak... then yep.. fix that guy too :)

    Is the slow idle speed jet the only jet that you need to put in a certain amount of turns? The rest of the jets are just like a screw, go in until its snug?

    • @Yellowdogsworld
      @Yellowdogsworld  Před 5 lety +1

      Yes on this one, you are correct. Since no 2 carburetors are the same I always go with, if it looks like its adjustable, go in before you go out, so you know where to set it back. If its not, its not going to go in that is unless its frozen... then go out :)
      Hope this helps :)

    I have the same quad and it wont go over 30-35 would it be those jets clogged?

    • @Yellowdogsworld
      @Yellowdogsworld  Před 4 lety

      Hard to say... but if its cutting out and stumbles when you "top out" so to speak.. its very well possible. That could be signs of running out of fuel however, it could also be ignition.

  • @chadellison91384
    @chadellison91384 Před 6 lety +1

    Did the cleaning by itself work?

    • @Yellowdogsworld
      @Yellowdogsworld  Před 6 lety

      Cleaning it did fix the running issue, however it did need a new float bowl gasket since the original one did not seal back up,,, its was just too old.

    • @chadellison91384
      @chadellison91384 Před 6 lety

      Yellowdog02 now my problem is the little lack rubber plug. I purchased a kit that came with everything but that.. the top ripped off while trying to remove it

    • @Yellowdogsworld
      @Yellowdogsworld  Před 6 lety

      I looked back in the video to see what plug you were referring too, it shows it being part of the kit i listed at the end of the video, if it didn't come with it that's not a good thing. It may be a part you just cant get anymore. partzilla.com is where i go for OEM Honda parts, if you cant find it there, i doubt a dealers going to do you much good either. Best of luck, hope you can get it figured out...

      😊 Thanks for the correction on the needle valve. I'm not surprised i missed a jet, I'm not a professional as you pointed out. This was not meant as the Be-all and end-all how to, just a guy helping out a friend and sharing the information.

    Man that ethanol really does a number on carburetors, every spring my Dads quad won’t run for some reason. Maybe it’s the gas he didn’t drain AGAIN

    You dont have any idea how to clean the carbureator. First, you have to clean outside. Then, you dont have to use a steal brush. STOP DO TOTURIAL VIDEOS.
