wish I would have seen your video before I put my skimmer in! cutting the gasket and mounting the skimmer before cutting the hole is genius!
Thanks, 😀
They tell you only to use the cord that you need, don't through all the blue cord in the pool, only what you need. It works good only sometimes the cord gets tanagled.
Yep, I’ve found it gets a bit twisted after a couple of runs. Have to stretch it back out to un twist it.
I should have watched your video. I followed another one where they traced out the gasket and then cut the hole. It was going great until the last inch when the razor knife went through like butter and made a slit a good 2 inches longer than my template! I had done another one like you did without any problems, but the video I watched said not to split the gasket. Well, we know how that went. Now I'm in the process of patching my two-inch slice past the marks.
Ouch, that’s a bummer… hope you got it fixed up.
How well has the liner held up with the hayward skimmer? I want to do this but am worried about longevity.
It’s doing fine so far, the plastic may have yellowed a bit from sun exposure, but no leaks, crack or fatigue that I can see.
Hey thanks for the vid hello from alaska, question now that you've had your gaurds installed for a bit of time, have you had any bending in the tubes or plates where things connect? Do the pegs ever get in the way while your tring to mount or dismount the quad? Any questionable issues with these im thinking about getting a set of them for my foreman any tips or info greatly appreciated l.
Structurally they’ve held up fine, if your 1 up riding then foot pegs need to be in the up positions. I have had my foot, leg get caught up when dismounting the atv… if your riding 2 up you get use for being a little more aware of the pegs. That would be the only real issue, if you’d call it that.
@Yellowdogsworld much appreciated for the reply.
If you pull that flywheel (which I wouldn't do) make sure that special Belleville washer is installed cup size towards the flywheel. It's slightly concave and if installed wrong the flywheel will not be seated firmly and could sheer off the sheer key. You have to look closely because it looks like an ordinary washer.
Can you please show me pics of the pump cover you made and where did you get the arm to hold the lid open
What brand pump can you please post a link for it
Cut the hole for the first. Then you don't have to cut your gasket. Its like that because it supposed to fit in the hole on both sides as a solid piece. thats what makes seal
Ez Money 🎉
bro, I want to ask, I just bought an ATV 125. When I tried it, sorry, when I was walking, I walked to the right / pulled over, right? until it hit a trash can. It's also really moving, not stable, even though my steering position feels straight, 2. It feels like I'm going to turn really hard, maybe because of the big tires? 3. Please provide tips for getting used to using an ATV
Say I have one and where can I get parts for mine it's the same one has this one
Did you use a 12 foot or 16 foot 2×4?
I’m certain I used a 12 foot board, 18 = a 9 foot radius, that’s why there was 3 feet overlapping the center.
@@Yellowdogsworld Gotcha! Thanks
I just finished installing these on a new Highlander. The windows seem to be functioning fine. This is about the fifth set of these that I have installed on various makes of cars. In the past the deflectors I installed had a blunt edge where the window first makes contact. I would bevel this edge with a file. On the latest pair I just installed the edge is bevelled already.
Cool, maybe weather-tech has a better fit now then when i installed these. I Hope so, as i really like most of their products.
For the hard part of fishing the parts through use a fishing line and Romex wire or metal coat hanger. Well done I made one to hang from the hood and bypass bad gas and a dirty fuel tank. This works well on older carbureted engines.
Привет. Неужели нельзя было сделать тройник в самой воде? Там где подключается скиммер?
Thanks so much!
You're welcome!
Great video. I have a 2002 Rubicon and have to do this same project. I'm goign to just put the kit in it.
Good luck!
@@Yellowdogsworld project completed. Thanks for the video. This was the first time I attempted at fixing a carburetor and followed your video to do it. Works like a charm and purrs like a kitten!!!!
Looks like the best and easiest way I’ve found so far.
Glad it helped
He does not know what he's doing at all
Yep, you would be correct… first time ever running the D7 to any extent. Only one way to learn, grab the reins and hold on. 😊
I need one
When rubber is exposed to petrolatum, the rubber can become brittle and cracked due to the solvents in the petrolatum. The petrolatum can also cause the rubber to swell and harden, reducing its elasticity and leading to eventual failure.
At it again I see! I must say, I appreciate this adventure. Thanks for bringing us viewers along. May be the most redneck thing I’ve ever seen anyone do and on the same note, I’ve never been more proud to be an American 😂😂
Thanks, it was a lot of fun rescuing this piece of history😊
The gasket never had been separated it coming to be inserted at the vinyl square
How much depth did u lose with the Hayward skimmer ?
I think around 3 / 4 inches, In hindsight, I could have mounted it a little higher so I may have only lost a couple inches. This is the one sacrifice you have to make, and to be honest, it's been well worth it for how well it skims the pool.
Do you recommend the economy or the competition
If you plan to do trial riding at all, I’d stick with the economy.. the competition is really intended for mud bogs and the wide open throttle ridding.. creeping through trails or using your machine for work related stuff, the comp is too aggressive.
Is there a noticeable difference between the economy and the stock, is it with doing a economy kit?
I did the Econ on my 420, I could notice a difference, it takes 3 to 4 hundred more rpm’s to get rolling.. not the best when trying to spray round up on your property, however having run extra umph to get the wheels Turing in thick mud… made a difference.
Prefer the hitich that dosent bang yours shins it more flush with bumper.
Trunk deck lid
That is sweet, 74 was probably the cut off.

Round headlighted caddy coupe
I love that tractor
Roughly how long did it take you to build this? Also, what paint did you use?
Worked on it over a couple nights, and finished it up on a Saturday… I used Olympic red cedar stain, I think… some pretty good stuff…
@@Yellowdogsworld thank you for responding!
I don't like how you have to have less water in the pool when using the Hayward, that's my biggest gripe.
Thank you sir!! 🫡
Welcome! 😁
Do you still have it? I’m in need for 1988 Mercury Grand Marquis
It's gutless
Maybe by today standards, but it’s got plenty of guts for what I need to do. You gotta remember you’re comparing 1950 tech, it’s like comparing a flathead V8 to a new Gm LS v8.
You’re right it was very annoying to get that thing
Just got one today! My grandad gave it to me, hadn’t ran in 9 years!! Still had old fuel in it. Drained it out and put fresh mix gas in. Stated on the 5th pull!!

You from Michigan ? Kalamazoo is my Home town
Well, I can say I’ve been to Kalamazoo, Bells brewing company’s beer garden to be exact. But to be honest I had some friends that lived in Ann Arbor, I somehow ended up with the Michigan hoodie on one of our trips up that way… I’m a South Carolinian myself.. love visiting Michigan though.
It's so nice to see your son working with you, it reminds me of me and my father many years ago on an old D4. He taught me so much by letting me try whatever I asked for (within my skills and within reason). Great memories, thank you for filming and posting this.
My father and I had some of the same experiences, my hope is to pass that down 😁
You didn’t have to take the points out of it you could’ve left them in
Don’t slice the gasket . It works better left as a butterfly gasket
He already explained why he cut it...
thank you, BTW. 3 years in, no issues with the gasket so far 😁
How are they working out for you? Better than OEM? Would you buy again?
They have been great so far… I have had some brake squeal when backing up in the mornings but that stops soon as I head down the driveway. “minor complaint I guess” they are ceramic pads so I can see them doing this a little.
Just installed on my 2003 Toyota Highlander. Note: Use some Trim Restore Serum and take a Qtip and put in channel of rubber. Then get a cloth and locking tweezers and rub the serum in the channel and use these to pull rubber open as my dad put the corners in and started to pop in channel it went in very smoothly. We couldn’t get the auto window off so make sure you click the window up in increments. The front windows worked great by doing this. Thank you for this video! Gotta love YT community!
thanks for the write up and info 👍
Good video sir 😊
Thanks 😁
